- The sweatshop lawsuit against Alexander Wang is now in the amount of $450 million with an additional 30 workers added to the case. The company, however, denies any wrongdoing and vowed to “vehemently defend any allegations to the contrary.”[WWD, sub req'd]

- Yves Saint Laurent is set to confirm on Wednesday what everyone’s already known for some time now, that is, that Hedi Slimane will take over Stefano Pilati‘s recenlty vacated creative director role. [NYT]

I don’t know what it is, but there’s something about Paris Fashion Week that brings out the crazy in everyone. Lest you forget it was around this time last year that John Galliano went swimming in a pool of anti-Semitic haterade, thus plunging the fashion world into a year-long speculative mission regarding his successorChristophe Decarnin had his breakdown and falling out with Balmain and  Kanye West dropped the biggest bomb of his career – and I’m not talking about 808s & Heartbreak. Not to mention a few months ago during the spring 2012 season that whole fashion calendar war was ignited. This PFW promises to be, if not equally scandalous, at least worth the clutching of your collective Chanel pearls. Here are the top scandals burning down the City of Lights.

Another One Bites the Dust as Maxime Simoens Exits Leonard

It seems like a neverending game of fashion musical chairs with the recent upheavals in creative directorship. Raf Simons leaves Jil Sander; Stefano Pilati leaves Yves Saint Laurent; Jil Sander comes back to Jil Sander; Hedi Slimane comes back to Yves Saint Laurent; while Christian Dior‘s seat remains conspicuously empty throughout. The latest exit comes courtesy of couture wunderkind Maxime Simoens, who is leaving his post as creative director at French label  Leonard after only four short months. And guess where he’s rumored to be going?

While I’d love to believe that Nicola Formichetti exists solely to do Lady Gaga‘s fashion bidding, that simply isn’t the case. Jo Calderone might actually be the most reserved man Formichetti has styled to date. Boy is at werq in Japan turning out cover after editorial of monstrous male beauty for Vogue Hommes Japan.
