Besides the fact that Sasha looks like a 12 year old boy and/or anorexic, Hedi really shows his photographer skills in this spread…
It’s annoying that muses come in such small sizes!
Thanks Beatific Fashion for the pics
Hedi Slimane: Quite the Renaissance Man

Is there anything that Hedi Slimane doesn’t do? With experience in fashion design, furniture design, fragrance, store design and photography, Slimane is really a Jack of all trades. But don’t think that because he has several irons in the fire means the quality of his talent slumps in certain areas.
The fashion design might be on the back-burner but Slimane’s photography is becoming quite lucrative. Slimane recently signed with Art + Commerce, an agency that represents photographers, stylists, hairstylists, and makeup artists. After he cut the ties with Dior Homme, Slimade shot spreads for various magazines like French Vogue, Vman and Purple. Hedi Slimane’s photography is rather impressive, but what else would you expect? It definitely takes one so involved in the fashion industry to know how to photograph a successful editorial.
But if you miss the couture designs of our favorite Renaissance man, sleep tight knowing that Slimane hinted he is returning to the world of fashion design! This time, however, Slimane will be his own boss, as he is discussing plans to start his own label. What’s next!?

A Magazine Books Gets Riccardo Tisci to Curate

Riccardo Tisci was recently tapped by A Magazine to play “curator” (also see unpaid editor, score one for free labor) for their upcoming issue. The Creative Director of Givenchy presents a series of photo essays and articles that speak on our ideals of sensuality. Basically, it looks like someone really, really, really wants to be Hedi Slimane.

Actually, the stuff isn’t bad. I’m just getting tired with the whole “black and white photo of a model in some sort of angst while wearing bunny ears” thing. That’s so last season.
Mag Hag: Vogue Homme Japan
Shot by Hedi Slimane, the cover of the Sept issue of Vogue Homme Japan is a bit man-arexic in my opinion, and showcases studded belts which were a bit last season.
Trendspark: Anything Hedi Slimane Shoots
In June, Hedi Slimane took on the youth of Paris for his photo diary. His shoot will most likely spark a shit load of copiers for it’s sheer amount of copiable trendsparks. Enjoy and take notes.

Spread: V Men Cover featuring Petey Wright shot by Hedi Slimane for the V Men Magazine, Fall Issue

V Man cover and spread shot by Hedi Slimane for the magazine’s fall issue, which hits stands this week, stars Petey Wright, winner of V Man Ford Model Search contest. Slimane also shot the contest’s runner-ups Adam and AJ for the same spread.

Hedi Slimane Might Come Out With Own Line

WWD reported that Heidi might launch his own line. When asked if he would ever return to fashion he stated: “Of course. But it has to be right, the right project.” Slimane … said he needed time to regroup after leaving Dior Homme last year.
“I didn’t want to deal with that for a while, but now [over the last] six months I’m considering options,” Slimane said, adding that he has held talks with others about starting his own label. But the designer went no further in terms of details. “It’s a secret,” he laughed.
After Slimane left Dior last year, he shot a rock-and-roll photography book called Rock Diary, which will be released in the U.S. and Japan this month. For the book he shot indie bands like the White Stripes, the Libertines, and Franz Ferdinand. He also plucked concertgoers from last summer’s Benicàssim rock festival and shot them in his studio.
V Man Announces Winner
Hedi Slimane has gotten his shots in and V Man is finally ready to announce the winner of their Ford Models cover. And the winner is (drumroll please) ….. Petey.
Actually from this shoot I don’t know who the fuck Petey is. All the men look the same with the exception of the blondie, whose name is Adam, but between the other two it’s anyones guess who Petey is.
Personally, I think the Bowie double should have one cause the other two look more like high school students than models. But I guess that’s the new look for men, juvenile.
Watch for Petey on an upcoming cover of VMan and to hit the runways this season as Ford pushes his skinny ass out to the masses.

Vintage Video: Hedi Slimane for YSL 98/99
Duckie Brown was all about the lack of music with their recent Fall 2008 show, but Hedi Slimane’s 99 collection for YSL followed the no sound route way before. In the vintage vid we get to meet the designer and his collection but the lack of music makes me feel disconnected to the collection and more aware of the snapping and coughs coming from the crowd. Fortunately there was no cellular chatter in this round of show.
Hedi being thrown out at the end. Priceless
Hedi Slimane has No Interest in Diesel
WWD reports that talks between representatives of Renzo Rosso of Diesel and Hedi Slimane took place as recently as this past weekend, but Slimane’s people insist no deal has been made — and may never be.
Following reports Slimane may be tapped to design Diesel’s new Red Collection, one of his representatives told WWD that the former Dior Homme creative director has “no interest at all in Renzo Rosso’s group, let alone Diesel.” Oh, snap. That sounds like a diss to me.
You’re Such a Pain, Hedi Slimane
WWD reports that Hedi Slimane might be returning to the luxury house of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton. Diesel may be preparing to launch a Red Collection to be designed by Slimane.
Alright, I might actually care about this collaboration. Hedi was amazing for Dior. His departure felt abrupt and his influence has been missed in current collections. I’m glad Hedi will be off his ass and working again. Plus, Diesel needs this push. Their windows at Union Square have been making the once iconically downtown feeling brand looking like a hodgepodge of hipster approved neons and has given the brand an LA chicness that no self respecting fashion devotee can appreciate.
Bring on the glamor Hedi.
