FASHION PORN: Hedi Slimane Shoots Anna Selezneva

FASHION PORN: Hedi Slimane Shoots Anna Selezneva

Anna Selezneva gets some major likeage from Hedi Slimane in this new photo shoot featured on his oh so addictive diary. Nice way to transition from your safe for work shots at Madame Tussuad’s with Terry Richardson. (I’d link to the gallery, but I’m lazy)

But if Hedi’s the one getting the good girls nakey, what’s left for creepy Uncle Terry?

SPREAD UM: Vogue Hommes Japan, Spring 2009

SPREAD UM: Vogue Hommes Japan, Spring 2009Need we any more proof that Hedi Slimane is a god? Leaving black and white portraits behind, Slimane shot a simple and somewhat whimsical spread for Vogue Hommes Japan, representing American culture at its finest. Hollywood, ice hockey, hippies and the grand old American flag brought the USA on a transatlantic journey to the Japanese glossy!

Thanks Hint!

Is Gareth Pugh Dior Homme Bound?

Is Gareth Pugh Dior Homme Bound?
Gareth Pugh.

Grazia is hearing Gareth Pugh will replace Kris Van Assche as head designer of Dior Homme. LVMH hasn’t confirmed the report, but an announcement is expected any day, according to chatter at London Fashion Week. Speculation that Pugh might take the reins from Van Assche reached a fever pitch when LVMH chief Bernard Arnault’s daughter Delphine Arnault sat front-row at his very first menswear show at Paris Men’s Fashion week and called the collection “beautiful” and “amazing.” Critics, too, called it flawless. This is exciting news in the world of menswear. Van Assche never quite lived up to Hedi Slimane, who left Dior Homme almost two years ago. If anyone can reinvigorate a label, it’s Pugh, and we can’t wait to see more from him.

I am really curious to see if this new appointment develops. I completely agree that Dior Homme has not been spectacular since Slimane left. I really hope the designer who takes the reigns knows what’s up.

I was flipping through old issues of i-D, Dazed and Confused and Men’s Vogue while I was home in Buffalo over the holiday weekend. I knew I spotted a trend among male models, but it didn’t hit me until I saw Cole Mohr on the Marc by Marc Jacobs billboard in SoHo one last time…

The Trend: baby-faced, skinny, tattooed, pierced, punk rocking models who look like they just got kicked out of the high school homecoming dance for reeking of cheap beer. Bingo.

Punk boys have been all over the editorials and up and down the runways recently. I absolutely love the awkward, but adorable, high school dropout look…and It looks like I’m not the only one! With Marc Jacobs and Hedi Slimane as avid fans of this look, it seems that the baby-faced punks will be scoring high fashion editorials and shows for years to come. But sorry ladies, just because you look like a prepubescent rocker doesn’t mean your gauged ears and inked arms are fully acceptable in the high fashion industry. It’s unfair, I know…but that’s just the way it is.

Thanks for the photos Models.com
