Where did it all go wrong?

And when something rocks the foundation of their relationship, it also rocks your belief in real celebrity love. The love that’s more glamorous and probably a lot better-looking than regular people love. It’s even worse when it happens to couples you think have got it all figured out. I’m still reeling from Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon‘s break-up years after the fact. And if Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson ever divorce, or Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn stop doing whatever the hell they’re doing, I’m going to be inconsolable…for a period of time.

Not that Heidi Klum and Seal are in the Hanks-Wilson league, but news that Heidi is planning on filing for divorce from her loving water mammal after almost seven years of marriage — an eternity really, for while bright and hot, celebrity love burns out ever so quickly — still fills me with a pang of regret.  According to TMZ, Klum is citing “irreconcilable differences” and will file the papers as early as next week.

Klum and Seal’s elaborate Halloween costumes, yearly vow renewals and rabbit-like breeding  – seriously, when has Heidi not been pregnant on a season of Project Runway? — always pointed to signs of a stable (by celebrity standards) and happy marriage. And now it’s all — allegedly — coming to the end. Sigh. I just wanted those two crazy kids to stay togetha’.

Heidi Klum will be portrayed by Angela Lindvall. The role of Nina Garcia will be played by Marchesa‘s Georgina Chapman. Joanna Coles, editor-in-chief of Marie Claire will star as mentor-in residence Tim Gunn. And returning to the fashion reality competition show stage is Isaac Mizrahi as Michael Kors. Guest judges will include Diane von Furstenberg, Miranda Kerr, Miss Piggy, Pharrell Williams, Nanette Lepore, Rachel Roy, Catherine Malandrino, and Mark Badgley and James Mischka.

The All-Stars in question are past Runway contestants who weren’t quite up to snuff, such as Austin Scarlett, Sweet P, Kara Janx and that much-reviled whiny copycat, Kenley Collins. Personally, I stopped watching Project Runway as soon as it hopped from Bravo to Lifetime,  deciding along the way that a season in L.A. was a good idea, but this new spin-off series could bring some much-needed fresh air into the franchise.

The All-Stars will compete for a handsome set of prizes, the most lucrative in Runway history: “an exclusive designer boutique in select Neiman Marcus stores and on neimanmarcus.com; $100,000 in technology and office space to help expand their business from HP and Intel; $100,000 cash from L’Oréal Paris; a feature spread in Marie Claire, for which he or she will serve as a guest editor for one year, and a sewing and embroidery studio provided by Brother International.” Well, at least they made returning to the scene of one’s former and very public embarrassment suitably enticing.

Never one to rest on her creepy laurels, Klum’s “Visible Woman” costume took hours to complete and was partially painted onto her body. And tonight, for her New York Halloween party, she’s reportedly going as an ape and if we know Heidi at all — which we don’t — she’ll probably come in swinging from a tree and hurling feces at her arriving guests. Because on Halloween it’s most important to stay in character.

I woke up in a pile of drool as I felt the plane touch down in Milan this morning. We arrived tired from a whirlwind 2 days in London filming my new commercials for Astor Cosmetics with my favorite photographer, Rankin! I perked up as soon as I knew it was only a short time until I got to visit one of my favorite stores, attend the always fabulous Versace show and end the night wearing a fabulous gown designed by one of my dear friends.

1pm – Stopped by the Duomo for a little sightseeing.

3pm – When you are in Milan you have to stop by one of my favorite stores, 10 Corso Como. They are known for having the best fashion! They buy things from designers that no one else does!

7pm – Quick stop backstage to see Donatella before the Versace show. Look at her dress! She is as fabulous as ever.

8pm – What a beautiful show. I wanted everything!

10pm – Arrived at the amfAR event wearing a gray strapless dress with a full skirt from Cavalli. I ran into Nina Garcia, Bar Refaeli, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen and the always stunning Eva & Roberto Cavalli.

11:30pm – Just as the night was ending, look who fell into my lap! Chanel Iman

12am – Headed back to the hotel to eat some spaghetti which is always a must in Italy! Some gelato? Bring it on! Can’t wait to fly back to my family tomorrow!!

Though this list is kind of arbitrary — earnings are based on pre-tax income and don’t include management/agent fees — one cannot deny the global phenomenon that is Lady Gaga. Cavalli opens the book by writing:  “I am not a real designer… I am a transformer who takes even poor quality fabrics and uses printing and colors to make them glamorous and desirable.” He also goes into brief detail about how he started printing tee shirts as a child in Italy and his first real success when he was introduced to Grace Mirabella, the former editor of American Vogue.

The book starts out with photos of the designer from back in the day as he rubbed elbows with the chicest and most beautiful women of the time.

Ew.) and The Fashion Show, despite Iman being the best person ever, just doesn’t make the cut. Will a show about designers making mass-retail jeans intrigue you? Especially on NBC? [Modelina]

Stephanie Seymour (July 23, 1968) As a muse for the late Richard Avedon, Stephanie Seymour created some of the best fashion photographs of the 90s, then upped the iconic ante when she strolled down the aisle as Axl Rose‘s bride (the two were dating at the time) in Guns and Roses‘ classic “November Rain” video. Though supermodels appearing in music videos was nothing new in 1992, very few looked as perfect as Seymour in that epic wedding dress. Perhaps a little too rock & roll for a royal wedding, but I would at least consider it, Kate Middleton.

Claudia Schiffer (Aug. 25, 1970) Reminiscent of a young Bridget Bardot, Claudia Schiffer’s sultry good looks catapulted her to supermodeldom in the early 90s. Though she made a comeback in a series of gorgeous ads for Salvatore Ferragamo in 2007, don’t expect to see Schiffer on a runway anytime soon; the German stunner maintains that she’s “very shy.” I’m the same way until I get a little liquor in me, hence, we just need to booze up Claudia and throw her — heels first — onto that catwalk. ASAP.

Heidi Klum (June 1, 1973) The ultimate Victoria’s Secret Angel, Klum hung up her wings for good in 2010 to focus on her thriving businesses: in addition to producing the Peabody Award-winning Project Runway (yeah, Heidi Klum has a Peabody), Klum has tried her hand at design, acting, painting not to mention re-populating the world with the help of her virile husband Seal…seriously, Heidi’s been pregnant nonstop for like the past ten years. I’m just going to say it, someone needs to separate those two.

Kate Moss (Jan. 16 1974) The kittenish face of “Heroin Chic,” Kate Moss’ arrival in 1990 sparked a sweeping change in the world of modeling. The glamazons of the 80s and early 90s now seemed outdated compared to the 5’7 Moss when she appeared in The Face magazine, shot by the late Corrine Day. Notoriously private — she rarely gives interviews — Kate Moss is still the most ubiquitous face in modeling of the past twenty years. As a regular in ad campaigns and a favorite muse for many photographers, Moss also practically owns the cover of British Vogue. Despite her amazing career, Kate has had her share of ups and downs…both fueled heavily by cocaine.

Tyra Banks (Dec. 4, 1973) Tyra Banks started off a rail-thin high fashion model before morphing into a voluptuous swimsuit cover girl, then a Victoria’s Secret Angel, then a fat-ass Emmy-winning talk show host and the professional smizer/creator of the now international Top Model series; in short, she is the ultimate model as mogul. And while I and a generation of other girls have learned everything we know about modeling from Ms. Banks (admittedly it took me a while to figure out how to find my light), she still has a few tricks up her sleeve (or in this case, turban), such as this shot from Vogue Italia’s iconic “Black Issue.”

Gisele (July 20, 1980) The last of the true supermodels, Gisele came along during the wave of Brazilian bombshells in the late 90s. With her athletic body and distinctive horse trot, she’s stayed at the top of the model heap for the past ten years, earning the one-name recognition to which all supers are entitled. Though there are several heirs to the throne (Karlie Kloss, Chanel Iman, Coco Rocha, Hilary Rhoda, Agyness Deyn, Anja Rubik, Jessica Stam, the list goes on and on…), the queen is not abdicating anytime soon.

In the latter case, Roitfeld allegedly borrowed Balenciaga preview pieces and sent them to her client, Max Mara, to copy…”

Then there’s that other scandal with ANDAM winner Hakaan:

“An angry anonymous letter, which was circulated among French media this week, asked “how a Turkish designer out of nowhere books Natalia Vodianova, Maria Carla Boscono, Lara Stone or Natasha Poly for his show—models asking €15.000 min per show, and who aren’t really famous for their charity!”

Roitfeld also made an unprecedented move by showing up to Hakaan’s first show with Kate Moss in tow. And then there’s that other scandal involving LVMH Chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault, who “allegedly threatened Conde Nast International Chairman Jonathan Newhouse with the removal of all LVMH ads from the next issue of” French Vogue after the last issue (edited by Tom Ford) apparently didn’t contain enough LVMH ad credits and exercised “poor taste” in this editorial.

As for rumors that Carine will be working with Ford on his new womenswear line, Ford recently told the New York Times Cathy Horyn:

“Carine and I have no plans to work together at the moment, and it is nothing that we have even discussed, but of course I think she is brilliant and we are close friends so who knows about the future.”

Well, I guess Heidi Klum‘s been right all along. In fashion one day you’re Anna Wintour and the next, you’re …Carine Roitfeld. It will be interesting to see how this story unfolds, who will succeed Carine (Emmanuelle Alt is apparently not an option) and where Carine lands, besides inevitably on her stilettoed feet.

Sims got her start as a Victoria’s Secret runway model, but soon transitioned to a Sports Illustrated bikini babe and is best known as a Cover Girl model and for her peppy Old Navy ads. In 2009 Sims launched a line of jewelry, Grayce by Molly Sims, sold on graycebymollysims.com. It has taken off, and now sells through Henri Bendel and a handful of boutiques, including Scoop, Ron Herman and Matches London. Elizabeth Hurley

The former Estée Lauder model, now 45, launched a swimwear line, Elizabeth Hurley Beach, in 2005; it now includes tunics, sarongs, shorts and kids’ wear. In 2009 she began manufacturing food products with ingredients grown on her 400 acres in the Gloucestershire countryside. Elizabeth Hurley Food’s organic snack line is sold at London retailer Harrods. Hurley raises her own pigs, cows and sheep at her farm, and sells their shanks at butchers across Britain. She recently partnered with Prince Charles’ organic food company, Duchy Originals, though the new line has yet to hit stores.

Cindy Crawford

The original supermodel, now 42, known for her Clairol and Pepsi campaigns, among others, had a hugely successful line of workout videos. In 2005 she partnered with HM Richards on an eponymous line of home furniture, sold through retailers like Rooms to Go, Art Van and Raymour & Flanigan. She recently partnered with JCPenney to sell a home décor line and a mid-range jewelry collection, One Kiss. She also has a line of anti-aging skincare, Meaningful Beauty, and a branded shoe collection sold through European retailer Deichmann. Crawford still strikes a pose for the likes of Omega Watches and Russian department store TSUM.

Elle Macpherson

In 1990 Elle “The Body” Macpherson, best known for her record five Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition covers, teamed with Bendon Limited Apparel to create an eponymous line of intimate wear, now a global seller. The line, which includes maternity bras as well as lingerie, has been so successful that the bombshell now out-earns her best years as a supermodel, with an estimated yearly $10 million paycheck. Now 47, Macpherson also has a line of skincare, The Body, sold in Europe. MacPherson took over as the host of Britain’s Next Top Model, and also serves as executive producer.

The Victoria’s Secret Angel has also graced the cover of the 2007 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Fashion clients have included Marc Jacobs, Tommy Hilfiger, DirecTV and True Religion jeans. In 2008 she launched a shoe line with skateboarder/surfer-oriented company Vans. In 2009 Harley-Davidson made Miller, 32, its first ever brand face; a co-branded clothing line is in the works. Since 2002 this former Victoria’s Secret beauty has been the face of Maybelline in print and TV ads worldwide. In spring 2009 she dovetailed her love of surfing and fashion by launching a line of eponymous beach-inspired women’s apparel through skating and surfing lifestyle company RVCA. Wasson also partnered with Mouawad (Heidi Klum’s jewelry partner) to brand a collection of chain-inspired jewelry, LowLuv, now sold in dozens of boutiques in the U.S, Canada, Europe and Japan. She is also an investor in 100 Lafayette, a hip New York City dance club. She recently raised $12,000 in an hour for Best Friends animal sanctuary by selling her designer cast-offs.

Heidi Klum

The Sports Illustrated swimsuit model turned Victoria’s Secret Angel hung up her wings in September 2010 after 13 years with the lingerie giant. But the gorgeous German, now 36, is busy as ever (evidenced by her $16 million take-home pay from June 2009 through June 2010). Stateside, Klum hosts the designer reality show Project Runway and, in her home country, Germany’s Next Top Model (Klum gets a cut of all her GNTM discoveries’ revenue.) The mother of four also hawks jewelry; an anti-aging skin care line, In an Instant; two maternity wear lines, Loved and Lavish; and gadgets on her website. In October she launched a line of fashionable sporty clothing, with New Balance, sold exclusively on Amazon.com.

Gisele Bundchen

This former Victoria’s Secret Angel and wife of NFL quarterback Tom Brady recently caused some controversy by saying that mothers should be legally required to breastfeed. The mostly highly paid model in the world, earning $25 million a year, has both high-fashion clients, like Balenciaga and Versace, and mass retail brands like H&M. Ipanema by Gisele, a line of sandals with Grendene, a Brazilian sandal maker, is available in 80 countries; her take from the 30 million pairs sold in 2009: about $8 million. Bündchen also owns a hotel, the Palladium Executive, in Brazil. Last year she founded Sejaa, an environmentally friendly skincare line.

The crazy part of it all is that the Fashion Indie/Lookbooks team were partying it up at LAVO (same venue as Klum’s party) on Friday night. I think the closest I came to being there was following awesome designer Kerin Rose on Twitter. Guests included Kim Kardashian, Rebecca Minkoff, and Christian Siriano.

Now I promise this to myself and the whole damn internet that if I am not invited to this party next year that I am crashing the shit out of it!

Over a month ago, when I had the pleasure of witnessing Project Runway‘s finale show firsthand, I didn’t think Gretchen had a snowball’s chance of winning. Maybe my brain had turned to mush after sitting through 75 minutes of decoy collections, but her crunchy-granola take on tribal just seemed so…boring. It left me cold.

On the other hand, I thought Andy South‘s collection was elegant, romantic yet slightly hard, and vaguely reminiscent of his beloved Yohji Yamamoto. Sure, it didn’t have any of his dominatrix/warrior princess edge, but why can’t something just be LOVELY, god damnit? Naturally, the judges hated it and counted Andy out of the running entirely.

Mondo’s collection, on the other hand, I loved from start to finish. I am not a print girl in my daily life, and I don’t really go for whimsy…but the moment his first look walked down the runway, all of Lincoln Center seemed captivated. His prints are wild and could become costumey with a less skilled hand, but his tailoring was so sharp and clean that it still looked refined.

Not so, sayeth Michael Kors and Nina Garcia. They lambasted him for being too “circusy” and skewing towards a “junior market,” remarks which led to the best. Project Runway. Catfight. Ever.

Lasting a whole 20 minutes–unheard of in reality TV–Michael and Nina duked it out with Jessica and host Heidi Klum, Team Gretchen and Mondo respectively. Team Gretchen was pleased that the designer, once written off as too “Birkenstocks,” styled her models a bit higher-end and more luxe, and they applauded her hand-forged (by other hands) metal jewelry. Heidi, however, correctly pointed out that no consumer wants to buy a top and have to buy the accoutrements necessary to make it fashionable.

Boxing gloves out, the tie was somehow broken and Gretchen takes home the prize. Ultimately, the judges said she was “current” and speaks to what modern women want to wear today.

I’ll let Mondo sum up my feelings in his exit interview. “You know, I was just really, really shocked…Gretchen, it was mundane, it was kinda one idea.” Yep. Guess Tim Gunn was right when he said the judges were smoking crack this season.

Every time a model gets pregnant, an angel loses her wings. After 13 years, Heidi Klum is no longer carrying a Secret. The model turned host turned MILF will no longer be seen strutting down the runway with the likes of Chanel Iman and Alessandria Ambrosio. I would say she would be missed, but then again, I’m already over her.

Guess they're going for full-time babymaking. At the rate these two are going, they could repopulate the world after a weekend in the Bahamas with a six pack of Arbor Mist.

“All good things have to come to an end,” Klum told Page Six at Paris Fashion Week. “I will always love Victoria’s Secret. It has been an absolutely amazing time.”

Sources say she’s quitting to make more time for Project Runway and her new fitness clothing line. The questions is, who will be winged head angel this fall?

The show started off with a Glee-themed fagtastic bang with Tina Fey, Jane Lynch, Jon Hamm and last living Golden Girl Betty White (some say she’s overexposed, but she’s 800 years old and could go any minute so I’ll take as much as I can, thank you) joining the Glee kids and Fallon for a cover of “Born to Run.” It was pretty much downhill from there, but it was a gentle and slow descent, made more comfortable by getting all the fun awards out early.

Proving that there is a god somewhere, Jane Lynch (woefully sans a pantsuit yet again) picked up the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy. Eric Stonestreet won a well-deserved Outstanding Supporting Actor for Modern Family, which also went home with the Outstanding Comedy Series trophy at the end of the night.

Edie Falco won her fourth Emmy, this time for Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. A controversial choice, perhaps, but Carmine Soprano literally shits Emmys . I’m holding out hope for Amy Poehler next year, though, that is if Parks and Rec makes it that long. And some guy from some show on CBS I will continue to ignore, I mean, Jim Parsons won Lead Actor.

My frequent nemesis January Jones might have lost to Kyra Sedgwick for Outstanding Lead Actress in  a Drama, but she won best dressed in my book, wearing a gorgeous Atelier Versace gown. Though I wish she had done her hair in a chignon and left the messy bed head hair to Cammy Diaz.

Aaron Paul -- Wrap him up, I'll take him to go.

Bryan Cranston picked up his third consecutive Emmy for Lead Actor for Breaking Bad and his hottie of a co-star Aaron Paul won for Supporting. Newcomer Archie Panjabi took home Outstanding Supporting Actress for The Good Wife. Then Mad Men sauntered off with the Outstanding Drama Series for the third year in a row.

Though Betty White and Neil Patrick Harris won for their guest starring roles on SNL and Glee, respectively, their trophies were handed out at the Shmemmys earlier, thus robbing us of what would surely have been a hot and heavy make-out session everyone…?…the gays…?…okay, that I have been anticipating since the nominees were announced.

That was one of a few disappointments in an otherwise — dare I say it? — great show. The awards, for the most part, went to the right people and I got to scream at Brittany Murphy and Rue McClanahan one more time during the In Memoriam slideshow. The fashion at the Emmys, however, left a lot to be desired.

The big theme of the night was Greek/Egyptian, with a lot of one shoulders, goddess gowns and geometric necklines, heavy on the jewelry and metallics.

The red carpet was a big snore, except for a few bright spots, such as Anna Paquin in Alexander McQueen and the aforementioned Betty Draper.

From what I’ve been reading, most people hate both of these looks, but that’s the price you pay for bringing high fashion to American TV sets.  There were, admittedly, some horrible missteps and yes I am looking at you Heidi Klum.

Hot tranny mess, working that tired drag for all its worth

The usually flawless supermodel and Emmy nominee (?) opted for a Marchesa mini. Meanwhile, if I never see another Marchesa gown on the red carpet I could die happy. The amazing Lauren Graham also faltered a bit in Yigal Azrouël, riding that damned Grecian theme straight into hell.

Is that bracelet bulletproof?

Lea Michele went overboard with the ruffles in Oscar de la Renta and her boobs always looked as if they were about to jump ship as well.

She should have taken a cue from co-star Dianna Argon who looked beautiful in  Carolina Herrera.

I would have liked the dress to be a little shorter, however, about mid-calf,  to play off a 50s silhouette. But, as the New Directions kids put it, you can’t always get what you want. Then again, at least Lea didn’t follow in the tranny footsteps of her other castmate, Naya Rivera, who apparently thought she was going to a quinceañera.

God bless her for trying.

In the June issue of REDBOOK, which hits newsstands May 25th, the supermodel-turned-reality-TV-hostess reveals some juicy details about her marriage with pop star Seal and their highly-anticipated vow renewal ceremony this weekend, opens up about her family, and shares her happiness guidelines.

On her husband Seal: “I don’t know why I got so lucky. I have to pinch myself often and say, “Is this just a dream?” Not only do I love my husband for the obvious reasons (ahem, his sex appeal), but also he is one of the kindest, most loving men I have ever met. He is sexy to me because he is fearless and not afraid to show his emotions. He is a supersexy, hot kisser and…he is sexy to me because he can be singing in front of 25,000 people one minute and, the next, be changing our daughter’s diaper…When is he the most sexy and handsome? Hmmmm… in our bedroom.”

Seal, on renewing vows: “Each year, Heidi and I get remarried. It’s a great party, but for about an hour, we go off on our own down to a private beach. We sit there with the kids and read vows to each other as the sun sets. It’s a very special moment to us.”

On her marriage: “One thing I think I will always want to be for my husband is not only his wife, mother of his children, and his best friend, but also his “hot” girl who keeps making an effort to be attractive and fun!!!!”

On overcoming obstacles in her life: “I have a survivor instinct. I’m not sure where it comes from, but probably from all the little things that make you into who you are. From being teased, to not being the best at school or skinny enough for the big runway shows in Paris, to being cheated on by boyfriends, to the death of family members and friends… But as they say, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.”
