Our friends over at VICE have gone from the international runway back to more familiar territory: in da club. Its latest web series in collaboration with HeinekenDiscotecture, follows five young New York-based designers from different disciplines as they come together to create their vision of the ”nightclub of the future,” with a little advice from some of the best in the industry, to be presented to the public at the Milan International Design Fair this month. Featuring interviews with iconic nightclubbers and nightlife personalities including David Byrne, Andre Balazs,  Michael Musto and Amy Sacco, a new episode airs every Monday at vice.com. Heineken Inspire Tour featuring J. Cole and Wale

Edited by

Last Saturday I, along with hundreds of other people including my friend Shelly, attended the Heineken Inspire concert featuring J. Cole, Wale, DJ D-Nice, and the surprise guest, the Teflon Don himself, Rick Ross. I did not know what to expect from this event. I thought I was just going to see J. Cole and Wale perform, but I was in for a great surprise. There was so much to do before the concert started and everything was free.

They had a great variety of food from sausage and peppers, dim sum (stuffed dumplings), reubens (sandwiches), hot dogs, pretzels and all of the Heineken you can drink (I don’t drink beer so I drank water). They also had various games like ping pong and two Nintendo Wii stations. They were also customizing t-shirts. You had the option of four colors and four designs. You also got the chance to be on the cover of “RollingStone Magazine” with an impromptu photo shoot with various props. Here are photos from the event

J. Cole has such great stage presence. He had no hype man and did an amazing job!

Wale was cool. He did A LOT of call and response and even performed in the crowd, but after a while I was a little bored. He had too much going on..it was too hard to focus.

Rick Ross was the surprise guest and he killed it! When DJ D-Nice introduced him everybody went crazy. Of course he came out to B.M.F. (Blowing Money Fast) and I swear everybody in that building was Big Meech or Larry Hoover.

This event was put on by Team Epiphany which is a branding and marketing company. This was a great event.

F*CK UPS: Drew Barrymore

F*CK UPS: Drew Barrymore

The CAA Golden Globes were anything but groundbreaking this year. As always, P. Diddy stood out amongst the hundreds of black ties and tuxedos in his sleek, oversized bow-tie, Angelina Jolie sucked back on Heinekens while the rest of her table sipped champagne and Drew Barrymore looked like she got hit by a speeding semi. Although her dress reminded me of a cross between Ariel and Jasmine from their respective Disney movies, I could barely focus on her fashion faux pas because I was too busy staring at her rat’s nest hair. Roots showing, fly-aways galore, messy curls and a mane full of secrets (thank you Mean Girls) is not the way to look at a prestigious awards event. Oh, and Drew might want to brush with Crest Extra-White toothpaste next time…

Thanks to The Superficial for the photo!
