Henrik Vibskov is an installation artist featured in MoMa and museums and galleries worldwide, and he’s the drummer for Trentmøller. This Central Saint Martens grad is also the only Scandinavian on the official Paris show roster and has put out 20 collections in the past decade. Henrik Vibskov is creating exhilarating menswear that embraces color and outspoken silhouettes in a wearable way, fusing radical shapes with traditional tailored pieces. The sculptor within him ensures his stores and presentations are ever changing by his own hands. His Soho store is a feast for the eyes up to the ceiling, and also features other designers aligned with his philosophy, like SVSV, Comme des Garçons and Bernhard Willhelm. He’s a chill, multi-talented man, making clothing for equally interesting gentlemen across the world. His Fall 2012 collection is here.

I love this website………..it appears that when choosing their “wares,” much of the focus is centered on the more “European-type” pieces. That approach certainly bodes well for the shopper who seeks a unique mixture of items.

Henrik Vibskov – Berlin Henrik Vibskov stopped by Berlin for a quick visit this past Sunday, where he presented his latest book of graphic works, entitled ‘The Panda People and Other Works.’ The designer-turned-musician-turned-artist gave a short talk and Q&A session in Mitte’s Pool Gallery , where the original prints are currently exhibiting. Vibskov uses archaic decidedly processes when creating his prints, using wood and stone engravings, complementing the Japanese Binding technique with which the book is held together.

One must always expect the unexpected with Henrik Vibskov, but while his Fall 2010 collection wasn’t terribly shocking, the styling was undoubtedly an eclectic mix. Vibskov’s men are best described as mix-matched hobos, wearing everything from floral tights to pajama-esque patchwork pants and pleated tennis skirts to wool ponchos. We’ve seen all these piece before, we just haven’t seen them together.

I love this look! The gloves alone are beyond amazing, but you add the Henrik Vibskov/Matthew Williamson over-sized sweater and you have perfection! I can barely see the leggings, but I’m dying to know what she has on her feet!

Six Scents: Series Two Preview

October will be the release date for the next batch of fragrances from Six Scents, and you’re hearing this from one person who couldn’t be more excited to see what they have to offer. For those of you not familiar with the brand, they produce six different scents at a time, that are all collaborations with big name designers.

Series two is going to feature a bunch of big names consisting of Phillip Lim (N’1), Damir Doma (N’2), Henrik Vibskov (N’3), Henry Holland (N’4), Richard Nicoll (N’5), and Toga (N’6). The scents are all top notch, and if they are anything like their previous release we are all in for a treat.

No words necessary, pure genius. I am definitely looking forward to seeing some of these pieces on store floors, you can certainly style them with other pieces to make amazing looks that aren’t as flashy if this isn’t your style.

One designer that every person in the fashion industry has taken notice of within the past few seasons is the amazing Henrik Vibskov. His designs can be found in a bunch of stores, but I found this shirt and these shorts at FarFetch. The shorts aren’t too bad at $169 and the shirt is on the steep side at $100. I love the designs, and just hope I can scrounge up the money to get myself a pair.

Farfetch caught up with Henrik Vibskov and gave an interesting interview. Farfetch asks Vibskov about his AW09 show, how he got into fashion and his upcoming plans and projects. When asked about if he purposely went about merging fashion with art, he responded:

No, I don’t even think in those categories… I follow my ideas and then work out in which project they fit. I don’t think about fashion and all its rules and systems.

Fuck the Snuggie this is the real deal Holyfield right here. The Sealpelt is a $400 bodysuit that I would literally live in if I had one. The Sealpelt is from Iceland, and is the new object of my affections. You may think that the look a bit familiar, and that’s because Mr. Henrik Vibskov used one in his runway show awhile back. Incase you can’t sense my excitement, I will say in all seriousness that I think this is the coolest thing ever! It was created by Vik Prjonsdottir, and is available for purchase at Birkiland. If someone wants to buy me one that would be great. I’ll e-mail you my address.

RUNWAY RUNDOWN: Henrik Vibskov Fall 2009 Collection

I don’t know how I let this one slip through my fingers last week, but I found now and I’m excited to share it with you. Henrik Vibskov produced one of the best looking shows to date with his latest Fall collection. The only thing I can think of when I see this is Tim Burton’s version of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, and I mean that in a very damn good way. The collection was a thrill to see on the runway, and I look forward to future shows.

As if the vibrant Christmas scene in Copenhagen, Denmark wasn’t enough, Henrik Vibskov and his astounding fashion shows are yet another reason why I want to hop a plane and make a transatlantic journey! Now, I’ll admit that most of Vibskov’s eccentric designs don’t appeal to my taste, but the way this man puts on a show is right up my alley! I stumbled upon these videos while lurking on Youtube, loving every second of the jazzy music, amazing runway setups and the sheer excitement both on the runway and in the audience. I couldn’t help but laugh at the minty green cilia or the boob-like objects creating obstacles for the models, but oh so coherent with Vibskov’s season designs. I was even thrilled to see Vibskov’s involvement in the shows (apparently he is an accomplished percussionist is playing drums in both shows!) At least this dude is proud of his work and doesn’t try to act all humble and shy (*cough* Cynthia Rowley…don’t think I didn’t see you poke your head out and then hide backstage!)
