The latest collection from my friends at Dazzle Me Formal is one I’m super excited about. The Smooth Criminals collection is based on the faces of Hollywood that were part of famous domestic abuse incidents. I know that may sound a bit harsh, but it focuses even more on the idea that they are normally kept quite and the repercussions are minimal.

The line features two of the most famous battered couples in the Hollywood, Madonna and Sean Penn, and Chris Brown and Rihanna. The distressed look of the shirts is really awesome as well.

I think there are very few people who watch more movies than I do, and Fashion Indie is looking to compile a list of some of the best styled movies of all time. So we figured we would ask you indies to start. Don’t necessarily think blockbusters either. Some of the less popular movies have the best styling. So let’s hear it!

It looks like Dita Von Teese is gathering her current fashion inspiration from animated sex icon, Betty Boop. She’s got the top hat, the red lipstick and the old Hollywood glamour look going on her eyes. Boop boop a doop!

What do designer Diane von Furstenberg, actress Susan Sarandon and model Petra Nemcova all have in common? Sure, they are all multi-millionaires in the public’s eye, but these three stars, along with several others, are teaming up in Beverly Hills to host a benefit for the Somaly Mam Foundation. 

The Somaly Mam Foundation is an organization dedicated to rescuing, providing therapy for and socially assimilating victims of the sex slave trade in Southeast Asian brothels. Founded by Cambodian activist Somaly Mam, a survivor of sexual slavery, the non-profit charity strives to achieve its ultimate vision: a world where human trafficking is non-existant.

“I’ve committed my life to fighting this horrible scourge on humanity. Seeing innocent young women and children whose lives have been forever scarred leaves no doubt that they need a champion who is willing to invest all their time and energy towards eradicating the shameful practice of human trafficking.” -Somaly Mam

Tuesday night’s fundraiser, sponsored by big names like Tiffany Co, Glamour Magazine and Ed Hardy, will help raise money and awareness for this often overlooked, yet pressing issue. Thanks to Hollywood’s fashion and film cream de la cream, we may finally have a band of champions necessary to bring us one step closer to a world without slavery!
