Hugh Jackman dominated the opening with a little surprise song and dance from Anne Hathaway, the Craigslist Dancers and low budget props. Joy to the recession.

Dear Hugh Jackman,

This really isn’t fair. These are candid shots (i.e. bad lighting, weird angles). You are on the set of your Wolverine movie, so you’re probably all sweaty, and there’s a dead deer in the back of the truck behind you. It’s really not an appealing setting at all. And on top of it, you’re wearing a Canadian tuxedo.

This shouldn’t work. It’s just too much denim. I thought only Springsteen could get away with so much denim.

And yet I still want to marry you.
