Here’s how the blogger competition went down:

I was escorted inside Victoria’s Secret headquarters to a VS PINK Style Off. Pitted against other top bloggers and online fashion editors, we entered a room, across from their very own Starbucks, that looked like a beach. With glass jars of candy and hot man serving popcorn and mocktails (you can imagine the disappointment). Victoria’s Secret Angel Elsa Hosk was there (gorgeously, naturally) to officiate the ceremony. A PINK bagful of spring break essentials for 10 of our readers, and one giant shopping spree for the winning blogger was at stake. Your spring break was on the line! I knew I had to win it for you, and for me, and for you. Well, the results are in, AND I WON!!! That means 10 of you are getting tricked out for Spring Break!!

It got all Hunger Games real quick: there was a cornucopia of bathing suits and accessories in the middle, and at an angelic, “Ready, Set, GO!” from Elsa, we had seven minutes to complete our task. I dashed forward, battling off girls from Cosmopolitan, Nylon, InStyle, Racked, StyleCaster, Hollywood Life and Modelinia (who turned out to be my staunchest competitor) and a dozen others, and fastidiously picked my look.

I grabbed the multicolor leopard top to offset the bright purple bottoms. Key wrap bracelets, a necklace, and a red ring embossed “Bad Girls” made it back with me. We each had a rack of signature PINK shorts, sweats, cropped tees and tanks to work from. In a Katniss-Rue moment of diplomacy, I made a trade with the People editor: the blue sweatshirt on my rack for the orange jean shorts on hers (who wears a sweater on Spring Break? C’mon People). With bikini, shorts and jewelry in place, I stuffed a bag with the essentials; a towel, snorkeling gear, a frisbee, a water bottle, and strapped a bra and panty to it for later. It’s in the details, kids. With a camera and headphones, she was ready for the beach. Just one question remained: “Where is the party?” Luckily, there was a neon pink shirt that asked that very question. I slung it over her shoulder, so the hotties on the beach would oblige.

After the competition cooled, the angelic Elsa Hosk took to styling her own spring break dream ensemble. It's a nice ombre, a warm purple at the bottom, easing it's way like a strawberry daiquiri up a crazy straw, umbrella included. To protect the fair skin, of course.

The major fashion titles were generally up in advertising from last year with W posting the greatest  gain at 25%  or 41 pages — though at a total of 204 pages, it is still only fifth in the rankings. InStyle had its biggest ad count since stomping onto the newsstand 18 years ago with 344 pages — a 13 % (39 pages) increase — bringing it in at number 2. And this is how the rest of the list shakes out:

1. Vogue — 442.74 pages, up 3.7%

2. InStyle — 344 pages, up 13% (39 pages)

3. Elle — 319 pages, up 2% (6 psges)

4. Harper’s Bazaar — 271 pages, up 16% (37 pages)

5. W — 204 pages, up 25% (41 pages)

Meanwhile, what really matters in this story is that the March issue of Vogue will feature one Ms. Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, which — just saying — will be a marked improvement from the current Grammy gal gracing the February issue.

*Kate Middleton‘s Alexander McQueen was a late addition and Rubenstein had to cut one of the dresses to keep the list to 100. So it was sayonara Nancy Reagan and her white one-shoulder inauguration ball gown. Michelle Obama‘s Jason Wu, however, remained in tact. [WWD, sub req'd]

Reese Witherspoon in Olivier Theyskens for Nina Ricci, 2007 Golden Globes: “Witherspoon’s slimmer figure, now snugly zipped into a strapless, canary-yellow silk brocade Nina Ricci cocktail dress, screamed, ‘Screw you, buddy!’”

Chanel RTW spring 2011: “Models rarely smile these days, but you can sense when they enjoy what they’re wearing. Kass could barely contain her delight.”

Rita Hayworth in Jean Louis, 1946,“Gilda”: “Strapless dresses owe their enduring popularity to Rita Hayworth.”

Julia Roberts in Marilyn Vance-Straker, 1990, “Pretty Woman”: “No matter how many times you have seen the film, the moment you can clearly recall is when you fell hopelessly in love with Julia Roberts — and that moment is marked by a dress.”

Michelle Obama in Jason Wu, 2009 Inaugural Ball: “Wu and the three women on his team set to work, spending more than three hundred hours making the gown.”

Halle Berry in Elie Saab, 2002 Academy Awards: “Because the gown was so right on her, it is the only one we ever imagine her in, regardless of how many premieres she graces.”

Princess Diana in David and Elizabeth Emanuel, 1981: “Let’s be honest. The gown is hideous…but it became one of the most copied Big Day gowns in history.”

Charlize Theron in Vera Wang, 2000 Academy Awards: “’We came real close,’ said Wang about the how-low-as-you-can-go open back.”

Marilyn Monroe in William Travilla, 1955, “The Seven Year Itch:” “Why the continued frenzy for an almost 60-year-old summer halter? Because of how it looked on the woman who wore it.”

Prabal wanted to keep things understated: “I didn’t want to dress Miss Piggy in anything that would take away from her bold personality so I went with a simple, classic dress and neutral color. The Empire waist really complements her figure.” I’m sure she would agree since it’s not easy giving a pig a waist. I would insert a Mariah Carey joke here but I’ll wait for when she crawls out of the barn for her inevitable comeback.

Jason Wu

Jason Wu, however, decided to go pig or go home: “Her humor, flamboyance and joie de vivre inspired me to design a decadent feathered dress that features her most sensational qualities.” And always the consummate professional, Piggy is giving an editorial jump to emphasize the garment while keeping that porcine punim light and commercial.

“Style is about expressing your inner self,” said the star, “capturing your personal ethos, and, most importantly, spending someone else’s money.” Take notes, kids.

The Miss Piggy media blitz express will wind its way into Project Runway All-Stars where she will serve as a guest judge, then she’s making a stop at MAC for her line of cosmetics (out November 14th) — and of course there’s that amazing collaboration with Opening Ceremony – all before she karate chops into the station for The Muppets premiere, November 23rd. “This is my first [fashion campaign]. I love clothes. Can’t you tell?” said La Keaton, tongue firmly in cheek(o). Despite her modesty, Diane Keaton’s style credentials are as solid as they come. Her portrayal of scatterbrained, gender-bending heroine Annie Hall in Woody Allen‘s seminal romantic comedy is still one of the most iconic leading ladies in cinema and fashion.

And since 2006, she’s been a face of L’Oréal Paris. I do have to say, though, those Chico’s trousers are unflattering as all get out…but I digress.

In the Chico’s commercials, Diane shares her thoughts on life, love, family and clothes, such as this little gem she shared with WWD: “Love makes the world go ’round. And so do hats and gloves and a fabulous belt.” Oh, Diane, how’d you get so wise?

The print ads will start making their appearance this November in publications such as  O, The Oprah Magazine, Harper’s Bazaar and InStyle with the commercials debuting this holiday season. The campaign’s tagline is “Live for the present” and as a little present — just because I’ll jump at any chance to write about Diane Keaton — have a little bit of this with your morning coffee:

Remember that time Gwyn-Gwyn was spotted leaving the Coach HQ with Reed Krakoff about 300 years back? Turns out it was for this ad campaign shot by Peter Lindbergh.

What a nice well-rounded collection! I’m lovin the floaty, frilly and feather accented dresses…..especially the floral with black trim; a cool choice for those hot summer days ahead. While the bustier dress is hotter than hot, It’s one that I must pass up. I belong to the “ample bosom group” and, for me, it’s hard to find one that fits properly. I also don’t like the “ole yank and pull;” when I get dressed I don’t like to deal with any “fussiness.” That said, I’ve noticed that the stores are inundated with various styles of rompers. From strapless and denim to spaghetti strap prints…….. I like the look as long as they are not too…….short.

Another favorite from this line, are the studded wellies……..it’s a nice touch. All in all this is a line that offers a variety of stylish and wearable pieces.
