We’re STILL looking for new interns this fall so, if scouring the interwebs for the newest and the prettiest, tumbling and tweeting at super cool brands, covering fabulous industry events, etc. sounds like your thing (and you’re in NYC) we want YOU. Assist in writing posts for FashionIndie and our sister site Lookbooks
Aid stylists with photo shoots
Transcribe interviews
Pitch story ideas

SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN

Support Facebook, Twitter and Tumblr
Translate the voice of FashionIndie in 140 characters
Drive traffic to FI
Communicate with brands mentioned in posts to build relationships
Manage comments
Engage readers: tweet chats, surveys
Manage TheyEnvy.Us
Assist with email blasts/newsletters/PR and mailing lists

PHOTOGRAPHY/GRAPHICS INTERN

Provide visual support for posts
Shoot editorials
Capture behind the scenes Tumblr photos
Assist with design assignments and Photoshop work
Researching the latest in design layouts and modern fonts

EVENTS PLANNING INTERN

Reaching out to companies for sponsorships
Booze runs
Compiling guest lists/working the door
Putting together detailed lists for various email blasts and invites

Ms. Mad Hatter? Lady Gaga’s First Fashion Internship

Lady Gaga is moving on to her next creative endeavor: an intern for fashion’s favorite milliner, Phillip Treacy. For those of you who may not have the pleasure of knowing who Treacy is, he is the designer responsible for some of the world’s most iconic headwear (think Princess Beatrice‘s wildly popular fascinator, Carrie Bradshaw’s “something blue” feathered topper in the Sex & The City wedding, and many a piece for the late Alexander McQueen ). Hats off to Mother Monster (pun completely intended) for humbly starting at the bottom of the millinery, we can’t wait to see what type of tops she comes up with. Can you convey your knack for fashion in 140 characters or less? Do you have sass in your blood and a profound love of writing? Are you the party planner of your friends? Yes, yes, yes? FashionIndie wants you to join the team.

We’re on the hunt for an organized rockstar of an intern to help with all of the above: social media, writing and event planning. FashionIndie is an ever-updating fashion blog with a far-reaching readership, and we’re undergoing exciting content changes. We write as a team from our lively loft in midtown. We hold special events to bring fashionable players in the blogging community and fashion industry together. We need someone, preferably a student, who is eager to dive deep into this booming world of social media with us.

Instead of your average cover letter, please ponder and respond to the following questions:

-You spot a famous designer/actor/model/celebrity. What is your first instinct?

Lady Gaga Becomes An Intern

Now Lady Gaga and I have another thing in common, we are both interns. Gaga has applied to learn under the tutelage of hatter, Philip Treacy. Gaga has been know to wear many of Treacy’s headpieces such as the one in the photo. The pop star wants to learn more about the fashion world and create her own out of the world pieces. “The request came through quite a while ago,” a spokesperson for Treacy told Vogue us this morning. “They get on well and she has applied for an internship although nothing has been confirmed yet.”

Ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, organized, possesses the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize and must have an understanding of the Internet and emerging technologies. He/she must also have good communication skills. Digital PR experience is preferred but not required.

Duties include:
- resizing images
-uploading content to website
-assist in project management tasks
- mining analytics
-writing blog entries
-creating digital PR lists
- digital competitive reports
-social media monitoring
- Proficiency in Microsoft Apps (Word, Excel, Outlook)
-Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Available at least 2-3 days a week
