And the French get the final say. Paris Fashion Week has drawn to a close and we’ve sifted the runways for the trends that will affect your wardrobe come September, or sooner. Designers have squared off, whited out, and swept their competition. Karl Lagerfeld and Marc Jacobs were on some similar wavelengths for the new silhouette of Chanel and Louis Vuitton. Ann Demeulemeester and Gareth Pugh finally got coordinating dragon tattoos. Meanwhile, the leg bomber strikes again and we’re still highlighting the hot outline. Now, follow the bell hop to the trends of Fall 2012.

Between Superman Lagerfeld's fixation on crystals and Giambatista Valli's kinked stripes, cubic patterns jump forth geometrically from Paris.

The collection ranges on desert sands and the prints are borne intricately subtle. It’s all the cool girl chic you could want for your when your East Coast and West Coast minds live as one.

The dress Kate Bosworth wore on the 4th of July has got me longing for a summer dress in a butter yellow color. It just looks so fresh.. Love the Isabel Marant booties in lieu of sandals too. I’m kind of over sandals at the moment, they’ve left me with dirty, maimed feet. Kate’s boots seem like a better option.

She makes no qualms about bringing an honesty to her work where her concern isn’t artistic perfection but clothes that people will wear over and over again.

Isabel says fashion shows are not for the public adding: “They are trade shows for the press. It’s time for the press to understand the collection and then spread the information. That’s more interesting than just the image. Everyone wants to be first. It’s too too much. There should be privacy and mystery. There is no excitement about anything anymore as everything is available immediately and all the time–you don’t have to wait for anything.”

Considering that she designs fashion for the ‘public’ to wear, I completely disagree with her comment. Why shouldn’t the public see the shows, or even attend, they are the ones buying the garments!

Someone paid attention to the trend report, because Isabel Marant’s Spring 2009 collection has all bases covered. From floral prints to denim and jumpsuits to boyfriend blazers, Marant’s line is a bohemian picnic of styles. As a Buffalo native, where I somehow manage to freeze at least 360 days of the year, Fall collections have always been my thing. But it’s designers like Isabel Marant who are turning the tables of my fashion preferences.

I’m loving the subtle hippie, Native American vibe this collection has going, but most of all, I really appreciate Marant’s use of black. I feel like many designers avoid the dark, winter associated colors, but those who pull it off deserve a round of applause. Marant’s collection is simple, yet detailed, and feminine, yet masculinely confident. Loving the ruffles. Loving the doily cutouts. Loving the splashes of Americana plaid. All in all, loving this collection.

The Pipeline spotted designer Maryam Nassir Zadeh outside of her Lower East Side boutique wearing this amazing Isabel Marant plaid, utility pocketed jumpsuit and adorable Rachel Comey wedges. I realize that Zadeh is a bit far away in the photo, but it appears to me that this total package jumpsuit might even have a hint of drop-crotch to it! I have yet to check out Zadeh’s shop, but if her stye is this killer, her boutique is bound to be spot on!
