You sneer at the girls who have it. You wait overnight in the freezing cold to have it. You work overtime for three weeks just to afford it. The funny thing is, thanks to the economical crumble of our nation, It doesn’t exist anymore. I’m talking about the It-bag, the It-shoes and all of those other It-items we used to go above and beyond to sling over our shoulders or slide on our feet. Now, i’m not saying that the recession has our nation back in the bag-less/shoe-less dark ages, but those Its are certainly no longer a hot commodity. The fact of the matter is, even shopaholics can’t afford the $8,000 limited edition neon-pink alligator skin shoulder bag. So, now that our It bags and shoes are mere dreams, what is out there worthy of wrestling the girl with the last size small for?

Behold, ladies and gentlemen, a new era of It, the It t-shirt! Unique. Limited. Designer. Affordable. Tees like the Lanvin one (pictured above) and House of Holland’s Naked Designer shirts are only the beginning. And this time, we actually have a prayer when it comes to affording iT-shirts (about $115 for the House of Holland Tees). Maybe this is the fashion industry’s way of telling us the take it easy and dress down in 2009! Forget the dream Louis Vuitton bag and the Miu Miu pumps, the iT-shirt is is where It’s at!
