What do a gun fanny pack, fringed suede pants and a cow skull necklace embellished with crystals have in common? I am obsessed with them in this spread for the March 2011 issue of Vogue Russia. American model Jacquelyn Jablonski shows us what cowgirls are made of, wearing knee-length braids, denim shirts and heavily embellished accessories. Styled by Olga Dunina, pieces from Pamela Love, Blumarine, Ralph Lauren and Stetson were used to create this western fantasy shot by Jason Kibbler. There’s something about western style that always makes me long for summer. Sigh.

Modelina asked some gorgeous models, including Brooklyn Decker, Molly Sims, Lily Albridge and Chanel Iman, what they were doing for the holidays. Jacquelyn Jablonski is spending Christmas in New Jersey. Thanks for ruining my fantasy that all models spent the holidays at Karl Lagerfeld‘s mansion in the French countryside doing blow, having pansexual orgies and performing experimental theater. I miss the 70s.

Inspired by 1986 video documentary Heavy Metal Parking Lot—which captured fans tailgating before a Judas Priest concert—the first V spread channels the heavy metal fashion that may have been part of the mayhem. Models include Lakshmi Menon, Jacquelyn Jablonski, Kori Richardson, Yuri Pleskun and Berthold Rothas.
