So for all of you Gossip Girl lovers out there who saw Jenny Humphrey make an appearance on last night’s episode aka The Pretty Reckless’ lead singer TAYLOR MOMSEN you must have noticed her rocking Donna Karan’s Black Micro Tulle Net Small Net Pantyhose!!

If you guys haven’t heard yet, the producers of Gossip Girl are trying to save the show by incorporating a vampire story. Yes that’s right, one lonely character will become a blood sucker and there will be crossover between this show and Vampire Diaries. So basically, Jenny Humphrey will be sent off to boarding school where Edward Cullen will bite her and she’ll slowly turn (then turn others) to the point where humans will be extinct and Ethan Hawk will have to find a synthetic blood source but not before Evan Rachel Wood becomes queen of the vampires and Stephen Dorff makes a triumphant comeback! Where’s Blade when you need him?

Before I get into this post it would be a tragedy if I didn’t get this out of the way…Uggs? Really Blake Lively? GROSS!The cast was back in the apple filming scenes for the second half of this seasons episodes. I’ll be honest for a show that used to be so highly regarded for it’s wardrobes I must say it has been lacking severely. The only one remotely fashionable and good looking on the show anymore is Taylor Momsen.

How many c-list actors can they get on this show? Who the hell is Kevin Zerger and why is it a big deal that he is on Gossip Girl? They always announce these actors and new characters like they are going to be something big, they never are haha. I’m assuming that this is all a result of my jealousy because he is going to be playing Taylor Momsen’s love interest….damn it!

Not quite sure what Taylor Momsen was planning with this look at a Teen Vogue block party.  She performed with Pretty Reckless, but I don’t think anyone really cared how she sounded, only about the fact that she wasn’t wearing pants. Chill dudes, she’s still 16…or is she 17 yet? Also, I kindof like this look?

May be sick of me talking about Taylor Momsen today, but we all love her here, and Teen Vogue is putting her all over the place (including in our RAW feed). Here’s her interview for the September mag, Corey was very excited to hear that she only dates older guys.

TEEN VOGUE: You seemed totally at home in front of that crowd the other night—is it true that, until recently, you’d never played a live show?

TAYLOR MOMSEN: The only other time I’ve been on a stage was when I starred as the Little Red Hen in the second grade. But my family used to play music and dance around in the basement every Saturday night. My sister and I even formed a band called Pink Boa—we’d put on tutus and masks, and I’d sing and play guitar and she’d play the drums. We knew two songs, “Seven Nation Army” and “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll.”

TV: And you’ve been acting professionally for over a decade—that probably helps.

TM: Yeah, I kind of grew up in front of the camera: I started modeling when I was two. I was never pushed into it, but I never really chose it either. That’s why music is so different for me—I’ve known since I was little that this is what I want to do.

TV: Does that mean you’re finished with acting after Gossip Girl?

TM: It would be crazy to cut it out completely. And I love being on the show—I hope it goes on for a couple more years. But as for the future, I don’t know. I’m at a point now where I’m not doing anything just for money or fame.

TV: You recorded most of your album before signing a deal with your label, Interscope, whereas many famous actresses work the other way around. Was it important to you to do as much as possible yourself?

TM: The most obvious thing is to look at me and say, “Oh, pretty blonde girl, let’s put her in pop.” But I would never want to do something in music that isn’t representing me—I’d feel like I was faking myself. I wanted to have it all done so I could say, “Here’s who I am, either you like it or you don’t.”

TV: Tell us about your song writing process.

TM: I start with an idea, an emotion, and I write whatever comes into my mind. My lyrics are my diary—you’re hearing every detail of my life. I’m still learning guitar, so I have a writing partner who helps me: I know what I want to do, but I can’t physically do it, so it’s good to have someone there who can interpret. I’d call my music rock, but with pop hooks. I grew up listening to the Beatles, Blondie, and Joan Jett, and I love Nirvana.

TV: You recently finished high school, more than two years early. Were you just eager to get it over with?

TM: I found it kind of boring. I’m an artist; I’m not going to use trigonometry. Now I’m taking college classes online—I want to major in Language Arts.

TV: Do you have any interest in doing the regular college thing? Enrolling at a university, living in a dorm…

TM: For most people, college is a place where you learn about yourself, and I feel like I’m doing that already. I’m already independent.

TV: People also make great friends there.

TM: I have such trust complexes. I’m close to like two people.

TV: Is that a side effect of fame?

TM: I’ve always been like that. People misinterpret what I say all the time: They think I’m being offensive, when really, I’m only being opinionated. Most of my friends are older, too. I live a very adult life: I have two different careers; I’m on tour. What am I going to do, hang out with the high school kids? I just can’t relate to what they talk about—it seems so petty.

TV: Are your parents comfortable with your maturity?

TM: They have to be; it’s not going anywhere. But I’m responsible. I’m not one of those crazy teens. They trust me.

TV: Do they trust you with older boyfriends?

TM: I’m not dating anyone right now, but I’ve had lots of relationships. My parents know that I’m not going to date someone who’s sixteen. Boys are so much less mature than girls as it is; there’s just no way— I would eat a boy my age alive.

TV: You were a finalist for the part of Hannah Montana—are you ever relieved that you didn’t get that role?

TM: I think it’s a great opportunity for Miley, but yeah, I guess I am relieved. If I had gotten the part, it would be a very different show. It wouldn’t have worked for me. I push back.

TV: It’s hard to imagine you being totally happy at Disney.

TM: When I was nine, it seemed amazing. But I wouldn’t have been able to deal with not writing my own songs. I don’t want to lose the artistry—a lot of people in music right now are faces—manufactured. I don’t want to be that.

TV: And you’ve adopted a very rock ‘n’ roll look.

TM: I had long, pretty hair, and it didn’t fit me. I’m pretty, but I’m not, like, a “pretty girl.” So I pulled up a bunch of photos of Joan Jett and said, “Do that to my hair.” There was a distinct change in my wardrobe, too, and I know people were a little, um, taken aback. But it wasn’t me that changed—it was just that I decided to start being myself. Now I do my own makeup, my own hair, and dress myself, and it feels better.

TV: So this isn’t just another part? You’re not acting when you’re up on that stage?

TM: No way. The role is me.

Gossip Girl’s rebel designer, Taylor Momsen, celebrates her sweet sixteen today, and I wanted to be the first to wish her happy birthday! It’s hard to imagine she’s just sixteen, but then again the spotlight has been known to cause people to grow up a bit quicker. On that note, happy birthday Miss Momsen, hope you have a great day!

Two worlds collide as this trend sweeps the city.  Girly girls are showing their edges with leather jackets, thick chains, and motorcycle boots. I hate to make a Gossip Girl reference, but think Blair Waldorf meets Taylor Momsen (no, not Jenny Humphrey, Taylor Momsen, the not-trying-as-hard-to-be-edgy-version).  I love this look, but would be interested to see edgy girls trying to be more girly…would that have the same effect?

We’ll start at the root of the problem, Ed Westwick. Ed has a band called The Filthy Youth that he has put on hold to finish up with Gossip Girl. If you’re putting your so called “punk” band on hold to shoot a show called Gossip Girl, you shouldn’t be in a punk band. Not to mention the band really isn’t good. Don’t believe me? Next up Taylor Momsen. Trying to follow suit with Ed Westwick, she started a grunge inspired band called The Reckless that also isn’t good. Her bandmates suck, she’s awkward on stage, and there is a reason she got cut from being Hannah Montana back in the day, because she can’t really sing. I’ve listened to her songs over and over, and she sings in a monotoned voice. The point of grunge music is to scream and squeel, and while she tries she doesn’t succeed. If she really wants to start a band maybe something the in light of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs would be a bit more appropriate. Taylor has the look, she just needs the material to back it up.

And finally there’s Leighton Meester. Much to my suprise, B can sing (but then again so can anyone with auto tune)! Never the less, Leighton has by far the superior voice to the prior two, but again I don’t know where her intentions are with music. She chose to do her major debut doing guest vocals for the hipster dance wannabe’s Cobra Starship, but I’m interested in seeing where her career takes her. She belongs in pop music for sure.

For all these aspiring rock stars, maybe their music should remain a hobby. They will forever be cast in the shadow of their Gossip Girl Upper East Sider shadows. Not to mention, I thought that Jennifer Love Hewitt proved to world that sitcom stars can’t become triple threats (not since Jared Leto I guess, but look at him now!).

I think Christina Aguilera is going through a mid-career identity crisis. She started us off with a young, cherub-like genie-in-a-bottle before moving to the oh-so-fabulous pin-up stage where she stayed for some time. Then she gave birth and started to swing the drag queen look which didn’t sit so well in my stomach. Now, Aguilera apparently watched too much Gossip Girl. Does anyone else see the resemblance to Jenny Humphrey here? It’s the lumberjack-after-a-MGMT-rave-party Jenny Humphrey kind of look that I hope doesn’t stick around for too long. I guess if the singing career doesn’t pan out, you can always be an Urban Outfitters window model Christina.

The show may not be getting all the viewers they want, but their ad campaign have been great. The latest features the shows stars with different words fake graffitied over their faces. I love it! But where is Chuck Bass? Or my personal favorite Taylor Momsen? I would say where’s Vanessa, but who really cares?

Taylor Momsen has been hospitalized for what doctors are saying “A severe and potentially life threatening throat infection”. She was not feeling so hot after an exam she had to take for school in LA, and stopped into the doctors before she jumped on the plane. She is expected to be ok, and she will be in the hospital for the next 3-5 days! Bummer! Poor Little J.
