Foot Notes: Jimmy Choo Wheel Leopard Calf Hair Flats

Edited by

Foot Notes: Jimmy Choo Wheel Leopard Calf Hair Flats

Animal prints will forever be en vogue; this Autumn, the leopard trend is still in and better than ever.  Leopard on leopard in varying textures is a must and when paired with a camel colored coat like the one from MaxMara, make a traffic stopping ensemble.  Jimmy Choo revives the loafer in a leopard calf skin with the Wheel Leopard Print Calf hair Flats.  These statement making flats are an alternative to the sky scrapping heels many will be donning this Fall. Being a bit more grounded in these flats doesn't equate to a lack of style. Falls fabulous cropped pants will look super chic when paired with a buttery soft tee and a velvet or wool blazer and Prada sunglasses. Live in your skirts a bit longer by pairing leopard tights with these flats. Keep accessories to a minimum with this trend. The Jimmy Choo Wheel Leopard Calf hair Flats are available at Net-a-Porter for $495.

Aren’t they beautiful…..that Tamara Mellon is creating “hit” after “hit!” The lucite heel and Rhinestone ankle cuff are certainly stunning accents. Better still, is the neutral color which allows for wear with a variety of looks. The Christian Dior is another standout neutral. Fringe, stitching and the onyx colored stones are a perfect mix, making them funky and fabulous! It’s apparent that Versace enjoyed a great deal of success with their patterned and print shoes from last season. I like the idea of a bold shoe, not only to wear with solids, but to mix with a patterned or print dress or top.

"I Would Wear it Like This"

What a beautiful dress….it’s glamour personified. That’s actually how I would describe all of Marchesa’s gowns and dresses. The ruffle detail and full sleeves, gives it that 60′s look. Sparkling, silver and metallic accessories add the finishing touches to a look sure to turn heads. To further “pump up the volume,” I would opt for an updo; a sleek french roll, a big cluster of curls or a bun on top. For me, the hair has to be big; it completes the glamourous look.

"Sole to Sole"

Edited by

According to the latest issue of Harpers Bazaar, we will see an influx of kitten heel shoes for fall. From what I saw in the magazine, it appears that that trend will apply mainly to pumps. While I love a kitten heel shoe, there is nothing that compares to a nice wedge or chunky heel. I’ve noticed that many of the designers, while keeping with the stiletto and wedges, are also offering lower-heeled styles, such as the Stuart Weitzman studded boot and those from Chloe. This year I hope to find the “perfect” wedge boot; I would love for it to look something like the Jimmy Choo wedge featured here. I’m really into the whole “stud thing”…..there’s just something about that “rocker” edge. I went into T.J. Maxx this afternoon, and just about every bag that I saw had studs. There was a particular top-handle tote that caught my attention; it was black, gray and completely covered in front, with silver and bronze studs, with a large onyx looking stone in the center. I’m thinking that I need to go back and get it (if it’s still there), as it will prove to be a great wardrobe addition. Of course, after that, I’ll need to find the some really cute studded boots and shoes…..it just never ends!

Today’s cocktail dress has evolved into a “magical” thing of beauty. Not to take anything away from the, “legendary” little black dress, but today’s offerings are so vast that one is hard pressed to choose just one. Before making the final purchase, if you’re like me, you want to check ALL of the stores for fear of missing out that perfect little number.

Versatility is key, as I personally prefer a dress that can be worn with a variety of shoe styles as well as colors. When in search of “that shoe,” a metallic gold or silver will usually fit the bill. Of course black is a must, but I also love to add a colorful, “entrance-making” shoe or bag. The bottom line is, it’s all about the mixing and the matching and personal preference.
