“My mum told me always to wear heels. If I’m not wearing heels, she says, ‘What? You’re in flats?’ So whenever I see her, I make sure I have heels with me.”

WORDS TO LIVE BY.

You know, I wouldn’t mind being Julia Restoin-Roitfeld. Not only was she blessed with the genes of a model and a mother (Carine Roitfeld) prominent in the fashion industry, 27 year old Julia also has a killer wardrobe, front row seats to all of fashion week and a pretty lucrative modeling career. Roitfeld is the face for Mango Spring 2009 and although i’ve never been to the store, these ads have me planning a trip to the Spring street location. Loving the drop crotch!

Thanks Fashionista

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, daughter of the editor of French Vogue Carine Roitfeld, attended the Rock & Republic Party in Paris  wearing a sexy one-shouldered Rock & Republic Spring 2009 mini dress with ruffled detailing on the shoulder. To complete the look, she accessorized the outfit with a bow headband and YSL Tribute heels.

Thanks Fabulousness

I have mentioned my love for Carine Roitfeld, editor of French Vogue. It should come as no shock that her daughter, Julia, is just as awesome. Here she is modeling for British fashion accessories chain Accessorize. Enjoy!

Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, Lily Donaldson, Chanel Iman, and Georgina Chapman star in the Fall 08 Gap campaign. Liv Tyler is also scheduled to be featured in the print ads. Surprisingly, Gap has continues to be ingenious with their advertisements. Although, these are not as poignant as the Gap(red) ads, Gap’s fall campaign sheds words of wisdom. The dramatic black and white ads all have a fun message. Teen supermodel sensation, Chanel Iman’s, phrase is “name your own destiny.” We think she speaks from experience.

Thanks to Fashionista for the pics!

The Inter-Views of Fashion: Julia Restoin Roitfled

The Inter Views of Fashion: Julia Restoin Roitfled emerging fashion

Julia Restoin Roitfeld (daughter of famed Carine Roitfeld, editor-in-chief of French Vogue) sets the rumors straing on The Last, her favorite designer and her mother.

1, Reportedly your working on a project called The Last, can you give me a insight as to why you came up with the idea?
THIS PROJECT IS NOT MINE.
ITS ALL MY BOYFRIEND’S AND HIS BUSINESS PARTNER’S WORK AND IDEA. DON’T BELEIVE WHAT YOU READ IN FASHIONISTA.COM!!
MAYBE ONE DAY I WILL CONTRIBUTE AND I’D LOVE TO, BUT RIGHT NOW I AM INVOLVED IN THIS PROJECT THE SAME WAY A PRESIDENT’S WIFE SUPPORT HER HUSBAND! ITS ALL ABOUT MORAL SUPPORT AND GIVING MY OPINION.

2, What can we look forward to seeing in The Last?
AS MY BOYFRIEND MAGNUS BERGER. HE’LL BE BETTER PLACE TO ANSWER THIS. BUT IT WILLFOR SURE BE GREAT AND I AM VERY EXCITED TO SEE IT TOO.

3, Recently you were seen at Cannes and your style has been noticed by alot of people, what do you see as inspiration when putting together a outfit?
IAM NOT REALLY INSPIRED BY ANYTHING OR ANYONE IN PARTICULAR. ITS MORE ABOUT HOW I FEEL AT THE MOMENT I GET DRESSED.

4, Is Fashion your main career focus or will we be seeing you entering any other field in the future such as music, acting etc?
FASHION IS MORE MY FAMILY BACKGROUND.
I GREW UP IN IT AND ITS HARD TO ESCAPE. BUT ITS NOT MY MAIN FOCUS.

5, There is always talk that you and Anna Wintour’s daughter Bee Schaffer are competitive, are the rumours true or is that just rumours?
ITS JUST STUPID RUMORS.

6,What advice would you give readers about starting out in fashion publishing?
ONCE AGAIN, I DIDNT START A MAGAZINE, BUT I GUESS YOU HAVE TO DO EXACTLY WHAT YOU WANT TO DO AND SHOW OTHER PEOPLE.
NOT BE INFLUENCE BY THE OTHER MAGAZINES.

7, Do you have any heavy fashion influences from anyone in particular?
IT REALLY DEPENDS ON MY MOOD, MOSTLY I GET INFLUENCED MY MOVIES, MORE THAN A PARTICULAR PERSON.

8,You’ve been the face of Tom Ford’s Orchid, and worked with the likes of Luella and V magazine, do you ever feel pressure to follow in your mother’s footsteps and work in publishing full-time?
NO, THATS HER THING AND SHE IS THE BEST OF THE INDUSTRY AT IT, I WILL LEAVE IT TO HER.

9, In designer collections, what designer are you loving at the moment?
BALMAIN
