“I’m Barbara Bush and I’m a New Yorker for marriage equality.” Yep, Dubya’s daughter has come out, so to speak, for marriage equality proving that the apple can fall far enough from the tree and maybe roll into a gay bar or two.

Babs joins Whoops Goldberg, Kevin and Kyra Sedgwick-Bacon, Jules Moore, Kenneth Cole, Moby (he can still be considered a celeb right?), Fran Drescher and Mayor Michael Bloomberg in filming spots for the Human Rights Campaign’s New Yorkers for Marriage Equality.

You may be as surprised as I am to find that Barbra Bush supports gay marriage, but apparently she’s been hagging it up for years. She’s allegedly “surrounded herself” with gays, one of whom says she was “loved by the gay community at Yale.”

The ads were shot by lens duo Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot in a greenhouse, a “lush, traditional setting,” claims Talbots Chief Creative Officer Michael Smaldone.

Smaldone says they picked Julianne for the spring campaign because she “exemplifies everything we want as the face of the brand. She’s a very active, beautiful, soulful woman.”

But don’t expect Moore to cradle a baby lion any time soon, Talbots is still very much dedicated to tradition. Smaldone explains:

“We want to hold on to the classic pieces, but make them relevant to a woman today. We’re not trendy, but our clothes are current and modern.”

I get severe back and neck pain every time I look at Michelle Williams in this Valentino dress because my brain is sending signals of suffering and agony to the rest of my body. This Tadashi Shoji chiffon gown does not translate, as she looks like a chicken that was plucked and had it’s feathers glued back on asymmetrically. She has a great body, so why hide behind this hideous frock that washes her out? A funny lady shouldn’t strive to look funny. D

What happened to Christina Aguilera?! She used to be a bombshell, and now she’s just a mess. First of all, YOU ARE NOT CHER. The “strategically placed applique” look of this Zuhair Murad doesn’t work for her because of her curves. And I am not saying she’s pudgy, but sleeves would not hurt her right now. It’s very difficult to wear a strapless dress if it doesn’t fit perfectly. And it looks like she’s wearing a wig! Bad, bad, bad X-tina. D

Everyone in the office is giving me shit for putting Emma Stone in the worst-dressed category, but I really couldn’t care less. This Calvin Klein dress is chic, and I don’t think this blond hair-dying, Lindsey Lohan look-alike has earned the right to wear it yet. Easy A was mediocre at best, I want to see some real acting emotion dammit. The only reason she gets a plus is because her body is great and she can wear this dress. But may she? D+

I weep for Julianne Moore. She is one of the most brilliant actresses in Hollywood, and she constantly makes poor fashion choices. This Lanvin dress makes me say “ain’t nothin’ like mutton,” where is the spit, it’s time to roast this leg of lamb. Really bad color, worse construction and it’s wrinkled. Yuck! It looks like she’s about to enter an amateur jousting match. D-

Office comment: I hate redheads in pink. It was such a green year, and that color looks great on her. Why didn’t she wear green?

It’s a shame half of Halle Berry’s dress got ripped off in the limo door because she looks great from the waist up. This Nina Ricci dress looked amazing on the runway, but it was worn with boots and tights for an edgy feel. This is too tight on her and looks like it might split in the back as soon as she takes her seat. BUT, I love her hair short, and except for the dress, she looks beautiful. D

Office comment: I love Halle Berry, so this upsets me. She can do anything she wants, but not really.

Jennifer Love Hewitt stained her Golden Globes dress at the last minute, so she had to staple this white tablecloth around herself minutes before she arrived. UGH. This Romona Keveza gown was so not a good choice. First of all, SO OVER the big bun. Secondly, she also has a nice, full bust, and this floppy piece of fabric does nothing for it. I hate white, even for wedding dresses, because it’s not flattering and it makes fake tans look more orange than they already are. Beautiful, talented girl, really bad fashion taste. D-

Office comment: A girl with a big bust should wear a sweetheart neckline, something that accentuates but doesn’t let everything flop around.

There you have it folks, the worst dressed from this year’s Golden Globes. I’d love to hear your comments, even though you might be wrong.

The clothes are classic Tom Ford: a glittery mix of sophisticated sex appeal and high-voltage glamor. But who can look at the clothes when the women modeling them are just as stunning?

Julianne Moore, Natalia Vodianova, Carolyn Murphy, Lauren Hutton, Karlie Kloss, Chanel Iman, Daphne Guinness, Rinko Kikuchi, Lakshmi Menon, Daria Werbowy, Rita Wilson, Stella Tennant, Lou Doillon, Amber Valletta, Liya Kebede, Du Juan, Anja Rubik, Abby Lee Kershaw, Edita Vilkeviciute, Joan Smalls, Liu Wen, Freja Beha Erichsen, Julia Reston-Roitfeld, Jac Jagaciak, and the Queen of World, Beyoncé all stomped and vamped their way down the runway, flanked by the Anna Wintours of the world to the tune of fellow hoofer Karen Elson‘s “Pretty Babies.”

Needless to say, it requires multiple viewings.

Right now, I’m completely inspired by Alexa Chung (above), a British model/writer/TV host. (I’m not the only one; she just won a British Fashion Award.) Her clothes are quirky but put-together, and her makeup is the same way. Chung somehow makes neutral brown eye shadows pop yet can follow that up for her next outing with just mascara and bold fuchsia lipstick; she seems like the type of woman who would never fall into a beauty rut. In fact, my brown-to-blonde ombré hair color was inspired by her—and since she just chopped her hair into a cute shaggy bob this week, I’m thinking of trying it myself. (Allure)

Whether you go classic or current, who is your beauty icon?

Despite scathing reviews and dysmal box office returns, The Tourist and Burlesque were both nominated for Best Picture – Musical/Comedy, which just goes to show you that…actually I’m not really sure at all what that goes to show anyone. Other nominees include Alice in Wonderland, Red and  The Kids Are All Right, which has already won by default.

Both Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie were nominated for Best Actor and Actress, respectively, in the same genre, however Cher is conspicuously absent. Now, who does the HFPA think they’re fooling? They can nominate Depp and Angie for sleepwalking through a movie no one saw, but snub Cher after wielding a crowbar in her first film in over 7 years? Someone call the AARP, the Globes are abusing a senior citizen.

Elsewhere, the Globes mirror the CCAs in their unabashed hard-on for Black Swan, The Social Network and The King’s Speech, each receiving multiple nominations in the acting categories, as well as a nomination for Best Picture – Drama. They’re joined in that auspicious category by Inception and The Fighter, with Danny Boyle‘s 127 Hours mysteriously snubbed.

The flick’s star, James Franco, is however nominated and released a statement to MTV about how “grateful” he is. And he also released a statement to Matt Lauer of the Today show about his love of texting pictures of fat animals.

I’m seriously excited about his various award speeches in the coming months.

Marky Mark Walhlberg (The Fighter) replaces Jeff Bridges in the competitive Best Actor – Drama category, otherwise, the nominees are exactly the same as the Critics’ Choice. Meanwhile, the nominees in the Best Actor – Comedy section will be getting drunk on the free champagne while Johnny Depp chuckles to himself at getting nominated twice for essentially the same character he’s been playing for the past 15 years.

It’s becoming clearer and clearer that the race to watch this year is Best Actress. Natalie Portman, Michelle Williams, Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Lawrence all re-scored the nomination, with Halle Berry somehow sneaking into the Drama category. Annette Bening has already engraved her name on the Best Actress – Comedy trophy, as her only real competition coming from her Kids Are All Right co-star, the incredible Julianne Moore.

This year’s Out 100 has a sassy line-up, starring Ms. Martin, Ms. Moore, Mr. Maddow, and lesbian power couple Johnny Weir and Nate Berkus.

Ricky looks adorable in his say-something blazer, in what appears to be a mid-Twist. Ms. Weir made an unfortunate choice in hair, make-up, wardrobe and pose. I hope Rachel Zoe wasn’t behind this disaster.

Or behind Rachel Maddow‘s power suit. Her pose seems to be saying, playfully, “Hey, what do you want from me?” The answer: sequins.

I’m dimly aware of who Nate Berkus is, but he’s affiliated with Oprah so I’ll take it.

But the real star of this cover is one Ms. Jules Moore. Radiant as ever and on a horse…for no particular reason. A horse, I don’t get. A unicorn, however?

Gasp.

If that horse was a unicorn this cover would burst into gay flames. Bravo to Out for practicing a little restraint.

“I wasn’t naked — I was wearing all sorts of things, actually,” Moore said. ”You just see my legs and arms and all the animals and handbags. There was the suggestion of it … but really I wasn’t exposed at all. Sometimes I was wearing a slip, others a long bathing suit.”

On top of that, we hear that only one photographer was allowed inside, chosen by Tom, to take the exclusive photos which will be released sometime in January. AND, now, apparently the women who modeled the collection were ALL celebrities, including Beyoncé, Julianne Moore, Daphne Guinness and more. Genius!

Wearing nothing but Bulgari bags and jewels, Julianne is sprawled against lush and decadent scenarios, having parrots (in the Spring Summer stills) and lion cubs (in the Fall Winter stills) as her companions.

The next issue of V Magazine, issue #63, which does not come out until January 12,  featurs the stars of Tom Ford’s new film “A Single Man.” Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Matthew Goode, and emerging actor Nicolas Hoult are all photographed exclusively by Tom Ford himself!

I’m really surprised that no one found this sooner, especially since it was directed by Daniel Day Lewis, and stars Keanu Reeves, Robin Wright Penn, Julianne Moore, and Winona Ryder, but apparently years ago Blake Lively starred in an indie film in the UK that aired at the Berlin Film Festival called ‘The Private Lives of Pippa’ where she plays a confused teen involved in drugs and bondage. I don’t think this is that big of a deal, everyone has to get their film start somewhere. Maybe Lively wanted to stray from her role from ‘Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants’ and show she could be edgy? Needless to say, here’s the trailer to the film that is sparking a ton of controversy over her career..

Tom Ford attempts to direct with a new film about a man who’s coming to terms with his partners death. No one speaks through the preview, so I’m guessing it’s supossed to be artsy, or possibly for deaf fashionistas.

I picked up this month’s Paper magazine and was pleasantly surprised to see Julianne Moore on the cover. Not only is she a highly talented actress, but she defies Hollywood by maintaining her personal style. I thought the title, “Karma Chameleon,” was perfect for the spread, shot by Marilyn Minter.
