Junya Watanabe
RUNWAY: Junya Watanabe Spring 2010
Junya Watanabe not only brought us his infamous crazy headgear, but a collection filled with the trendy menswear for women. Checkered black and white pieces served as safe, yet fun, patterns juxtaposed with Watanabe’s suits, skirts and tights. Everything was rather expected from a Japanese designer, but blowing me out of the water were Watanabe’s incredible pointy toed, black and white lace-ups.

Bill. Bill. Bill. Postcard from grandma. Bill. Parking Ticket. Bill. Bill. Invitation to Dior Homme Fall 2009. Aside from the bills and the parking ticket (sorry Rebecca), this would be the ideal contents of any mailbox. The perfect clothes, accessories, hair, makeup, lights, sound and runway are all necessary for a killer show. But if you don’t send guest innovative invitations, you’re audience is going to be empty! These are just some of the nifty invitations to this years F/W 2009 men’s fashion shows!

RUNWAY RUNDOWN: Junya Watanabe Fall 2009 Collection

No normally when it comes to any form of fashion week, whether is be New York, Paris, Milan, etc., we obviously tend to get the biggest name collections out to you because people always want to see what they are going to be showing. This year however, one of the best collections was from a designer that many of you may not know of. Junya Watanabe had an absolutely amazing collection prepared for everyone who took the time to head over and see the show. The collection was new, different, and featured some eye-catching looks that were 100% practical at the same time. I loved all the looks, and I am so glad to see a designer like Watanabe get all this coverage for a collection that truly deserves it.
