Apparently, the women’s designer department of the Chelsea Loehmann’s has tons of merchandise from the Barny’s sale.

I’m all for grunge, but Roberto Cavalli’s take on the whole trend is a bit too gaudy for my liking. Style.com hit it right on the head, comparing the Just Cavalli’s Spring 2010 collection Courtney Love, circa the 1990s. While there were some cute vintage-esqe pieces, I’m getting a little bored of the poorly “destroyed,” seemingly DIY sweaters and thrashed denim.

Over the years, I’ve come to expect very Euro-trashy fashion from anything bearing the Cavalli name. But the fall 09 Just Cavalli line was the total opposite of what I thought it would be. Leather motorcycle jackets were the perfect complements to frilly, ruffled dresses. The length of a well -tailored, over-sized blazer perfectly matched the hem of a colorfully metallic mini dress. All of the coats sent down that runway looked absolutely fantastic. The only element of this collection that I hated was the shredded pants. But I’m so over that look, I’ve taught myself to just ignore it these days. Kudos Just Cavalli, I would actually buy many pieces from this collection.
