Cargo Shorts Useful. Yes. Practical. Sure. Awful. You betcha. Give me a utilitarian article of clothing anyday of the week, but there's a time and a place for a multi-pocketed cargo short. And that time is called hiking outdoors or robbing a 7-Eleven.

Crocs You know who looks cute in Crocs? Toddlers. But then again, toddlers can pull off anything -- jumpers, cuddly animals...Harajuku girl. Anyone who can drink without the use of a sippy cup, however, should put on a real shoe.

Ed Hardy Anything I've always been a fan of a statement outfit, but some statements just don't need to be made. Especially since it's so hard to ignore whatever an Ed Hardy article is saying since it's so loud and obnoxious.

Fanny Packs I'm actually guilty of this particular offense, but granted my fanny packs are sequined and/or leopard-print. And as everyone knows, a sequin or leopard print can save any tragedy.

Ironic T-shirts Irony died a slow and painful death after being beaten to death by hipsters about five years ago and the ironic T-shirt is a reminder of those heroin-induced halcyon days when genuine sentiment was still a thing.

Juicy Couture Tracksuits Los Angeles-based brand Juicy Couture has more or less ruined the word "couture" for everyone. To clarify, couture means one-of-a-kind and custom-made. Juicy Couture means "I don't care what I look like when I step outside of my house."

Platform Sneakers Heels for the athletic gal on the run? If you insist on a little height to your trainers, class it up with an always appropriate sneaker heel.

Popcorn Shirts I had never even heard of these shirts until writing this post but I was both intrigued and horrified by the discovery. Sometimes ignorance is bliss.

Trucker Hats Also known as shorthand for "I'm a douche who will ruin your credit and probably your life."

Uggs Rising to prominence in Australia and New Zealand in the 1970s thanks to those fashionable wave-riders  otherwise known as surfers, the most activity an Ugg sees this day is a hungover trip to the mall.

Winner: Sarah Jessica Parker Her January Elle, August Vogue, and September Marie Claire covers are the 2nd or 3rd bestsellers of each mag this year.

Loser: Justin Bieber His Vanity Fair cover is the lowest selling issue since Graydon Carter took over in 1992. Rolling Stone, Teen Vogue and People similarly bombed.

Winner: Lady Gaga Mother Monster's Vogue cover was Anna Wintour's second best-selling issue, while her March Harper's Bazaar is Glenda Bailey's third top performer.

Loser: Lady Gaga However, no one wants to see a pared-down, bare-faced Gaga and the October issue of Bazaar is its third worst performer.

Winner: Mila Kunis A breakout year for the actress delivered GQ's biggest-selling issue from August and a 15% increase for a struggling W with her March cover. A turn on Cosmopolitan and a shared cover with Justin Timberlake on Elle in August also proved to be hits.

Loser: Justin Timberlake JT's cover with Mila might have been a hit for Elle, but his W cover with Amanda Seyfried was the mag's 2nd worst seller, while his solo cover for Esquire in October was its worst seller of the year.

Winner: Jennifer Aniston Alleged sexiest woman of all time, Aniston was also Marie Claire's top seller of the year and her November Elle is on track to be one of its biggest hits.

Loser: Michelle Williams The My Week with Marilyn star's Vogue cover and her Marie Claire cover were each mag's second and third worst-performing covers, respectively.

Winner: Kim Kardashian Kim delivered Glamour's bestseller of the year with her February cover, but a lot happened between then and now...

Loser: The Kardashians While Kim's Harper's Bazaar, Self and Lucky covers were mild hits, the January 2012 issue of Glamour featuring sisters Khloe and Kourtney is on track to bomb Bieber-style.

Fashion producer Chico Lowndes curated the exhibition that will feature 30 large-scale works and 30 original Polaroid shots from Klein’s collection. Among the pieces include images of Madonna, Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie, Tom Ford, and Justin Timberlake.

The Iguatemi Photo Series is a cultural initiative sponsored by Iguatemi Sao Paulo and  part of the largest chain of luxury shopping centers across Brazil, that aims to present the public with photography that goes beyond their typical mindset. on. Iguatemi Photo Series at MuBE has previously sponsored works by artists such as Guy Bourdin,  David LaChapelle, & John Rankin.

The exhibition will run from Aug 11^th-28^th.

- Speaking of money well-spent, the National Institutes of Health used tax dollars to conduct a study on gay men’s penis size and how it effects their sexual health: Those who felt they had an inadequate penis are more likely to be psychologically troubled and anal receptive—or “bottoms”—while those with larger penises usually identify themselves as “tops.” Meanwhile, a quick run-through of Manhunt would have unearthed the same conclusion. - While at the premiere of Friends with Benefits, sounds like one WWD reporter was less than enthused about stars Mila Kunis and Justin Timberlake‘s behavior. To wit: Mila Kunis wore a red, tight Lanvin dress and the watchful gaze of an exceptionally beefy bodyguard, who dissuaded revelers from speaking with her. “She doesn’t want to talk,” the guard explained, “to anybody. ”

And: Timberlake didn’t particularly seem to want to be with anybody. Visibly pained, the singer-turned-actor had forced a mile-wide grin for the press on the red carpet. “I think it’s a good movie?” Timberlake offered through clenched teeth. Here are the BEST DRESSED of the MTV Movie Awards, the star students of the night scoring As and Bs on their style report cards.

Elle Fanning in D&G Spring 2011 – I want to adopt Elle as my own first born child -  she is so adorable. I love this floral romper with the floral wedges. Where else and on who can an overload of prints work this well?

Leighton Meester in Balmain Fall 2011 – Although she makes a lot of mistakes and does poorly in style school sometimes, I still stand by Leighton. She looks perfect in this bling-encrusted Balmain dress. I’m glad to see her at the top of the list for once.

Emma Stone in Bottega Veneta Fall 2011 – Congratulations Emma for finally making my best dressed list! She looks phenomenal with her red-again hair in this golden, lacy frock. The orange accessories are PERFECT.

Hailee Steinfeld in Louis Vuitton – Many think Hailee looks too old in this sequin-adorned Louis Vuitton suit, but I think she looks youthful and chic. Unfortunately, I hate the shirt she is wearing underneath and wish she would have chosen something brighter and not so stiff.

Lil Mama in Sherri Hill Fall 2011 – This little lady sometimes tries too hard and ends up looking completely ridiculous on the red carpet. But Lil Mama got it right this time in a perfectly-fitting strapless mini dress. She is put-together and sexy without looking ridiculous.

Emma Watson in Marchesa - I thought this look was a little safe for Emma, but it grew on me as I looked through all the red carpet photos from last night. It’s difficult to pull-off a stark white dress and even more so if it’s this short. This is a great feminine look with the added edge of the Brian Atwood pumps.

On to the MOST BORING looks of the night. The Cs of the red carpet, these ladies could have tried a lot harder.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2011 -  I usually LOVE animal print, so I’m surprised I’m not phased by this. But a short animal print dress with the half-up, half-down hair? Ehhh I need something more from a gorgeous gal like Rosie. It would have made a huge difference if the dress was left longer like it was shown on the runway.

Blake Lively in Michael Kors - If Blake was going to a sophisticated fashion event, this would be an A++. But for an MTV awards show? Where is the insane Chanel Couture that could be blowing all these tartlets out of the water? If you have the access, use it!

Reese Witherspoon in Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2011 – Snore. Snoring at the hair, the dress, the shoes. Snoring at you Reese Witherspoon, who has been doing so well and just had to go and disappoint when you were receiving the post “prestigious” MTV Movie Award possible.

Selena Gomez in Giambattista Valli Spring 2011 – Talk about looking too old. Fit for a grandmother, this ensemble is just too tedious for MTV. Selena wowed us at the Billboards and must be tired because she is not at work.

Here we are ladies and gentlemen, the WORST DRESSED of the MTV Movie Awards. These ladies receive Ds and Fs for their detestable fashion sense.

Jessica Szohr in Alice + Olivia Fall 2011 – AHHHH!! This is a paisley nightmare! Hide your kids, hide your wife because this is the scariest clown I’ve ever seen. Perfect example of how an awesome runway piece looks like shit in real life. Look at Jessica’s face, she’s as horrified as we are.

Kristen Stewart in Balmain - Someone finally managed to look like a hooker in Balmain. Kristen Stewart continues to neglect her fashion studies in this too short, terribly styled studded and safety pinned number. The hair is bad, the shoes are wrong and she is not working this dress the way it needs to be worked.

Mila Kunis in Balmain Fall 2011 – Poor Balmain, so much drama as of late. I am obsessed with this skirt, but what in god’s name was Mila wearing on top? It looks like she was half changed into her pajamas, someone rang the doorbell and she had to walk outside like this. Justin’s hands would be a more fashionable choice.

Amanda Bynes in Hervé Léger – Congratulations Amanda for winning the WORST DRESSED award by a landslide. Not only does this dress make her look saggy all around, but she chose the ugliest shoes Christian Louboutin has ever designed. Tan, turquoise, black, white – it’s a rainbow of disaster on the red carpet.

Others have died for less, but her gambits more often pay off than not. With one Oscar nomination down — for An Education (2009) – Mulligan’s sure to get another for next year’s The Great Gatsby, playing the ultimate ingénue, Daisy Buchanan.

Elle Fanning

Starring roles: Elle proved such a fave with the Mulleavy sisters, they cast her in a short film for Rodarte. After stealing scenes in the independent Somewhere (2010), Elle’s going for the blockbuster gusto with J.J. Abrams‘s Super 8, out this summer.

Hailee Steinfeld

Starring roles: Along with Fanning, Steinfeld is proving that it’s never too early to be a fashionista by going on a winning streak during awards season…if only on the red carpet. Hailee nabbed an Oscar nom for showing her Grit, but for her next project, she’s going for a softer touch: she’s attached to a retelling of Sleeping Beauty.

Mia Wasikowska

Starring roles: Honestly, I’ve been more inspired by Mia’s stunning editorials as of late than her red carpet style. She first had me with W alongside her Jane Eyre co-star, Michael Fassbender then she channeled another Mia (Farrow) for Blackbook. She’s super talented and naturally beautiful plus with a slew of upcoming roles, she’ll have plenty of time to brush up on her style notes.

Blake Lively

Starring roles: When Karl Lagerfeld handpicks you to be the Chanel Purse Ambassador, you’re officially an icon. Best known for her penchant for Gossip, Blake surprised everyone with a dramatic turn in The Town (2010) and will soon be feeling up Ryan Reynold‘s muscled, latex-clad torso in this summer’s Green Lantern. Some ingenues get all the luck.

Keira Knightley

Starring roles: Another of Karl’s favorites, Keira’s been a red carpet highlight for years — I’m still screaming at her in Vera Wang at the 2006 Oscars.*  Though she was keeping a low profile for a while, Knightley came roaring back in this Chanel Couture stunner at the London premiere of Never Let Me Go. Add to that coup her recent Chanel Coco Mademoiselle short film and the upcoming romantic drama Last Night this May.

Leighton Meester

Starring roles: Though she’s the picture of Upper East Side preppy refinement as Blair Waldorf, Leighton’s personal style falls more in the delightfully quirky category. Along with Carey, Leighton is among the most fun and daring of these youthful beauties. Between gigs on Gossip Girl, Meester will next be seen seducing Dr. House himself in The Oranges out later this year.

Mila Kunis

Starring roles: Black Swan propelled Mila Kunis into a completely different stratosphere, one with awards and critical praise. Mila rose gamely to the challenge of red carpet dressing, peaking with this Alexander McQueen number from the SAG Awards. Next she’ll trade in her toe shoes to shack up with Justin Timberlake before hopping a broom for Oz: The Great and Powerful.

Michelle Williams

Starring roles: Michelle had her best style moment at this year’s Oscars when she took my breath away in this simple Chanel column… although her 2006 canary yellow Vera Wang* still holds a special place in my heart. Once upon a Creek, Michelle Williams was Katie Holmes‘ rival, so it makes poetic sense that while Katie is Jackie O, Michelle will play Marilyn Monroe in next year’s My Week With Marilyn.

Anne Hathaway

Starring roles: Honestly, Hathaway’s days as an ingénue are practically through, but having put in her Princess days, she’s succesfully transitioning to a leading lady. She managed to hold up the weight of the entire Academy Awards telecast this year on her bold, tuxedoed shoulders, so her next challenge Anne will be to claw up the screen as Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.

*Sidebar: Meanwhile, I forgot how much werq Vera was doing at the Academy Awards that year.

LINK LOVE: Design Scene

There really has been a dearth of funny ladies in Hollywood for a while…at least until recently. Women were usually the straight man, the eye candy, there for the lead guy to pursue, to impress, to harry and confound. Or, god forbid, the plucky sidekick.

Then an Emma Stone comes along. Or a Mila Kunis. Or an Anna Faris. Young, attractive girls who won’t stand around while the boys get all the laughs. So thank you Tina Fey, for making it okay for ladies to laugh again.

Though earning rave reviews (but disappointingly no Oscar nod) for Black Swan, Mila still loves doing comedies, saying:

“They’re just as hard, if not harder, to make work, compared with a drama. You work 17 hours a day, and you have to try to make things different and funny and relatable onscreen all at the same time.”

You’ve hit the nail on the head, Kunis. Comedy is hard — just think of the last time someone won an Oscar for a comedic performance. Though I heard The Blind Side was funny for all the wrong reasons.

Mila will next flex her comedic muscle alongside Emmy-winning actor and occasional popstar Justin Timberlake in Friends with Benefits, directed by Easy A‘s Will Gluck.

But before then we’ll see Mila on fashion’s biggest stage, the Oscar red carpet. I hope her gays are at work securing the best look…because I’m ready to slip in at a momen’t notice. Just sayin’.

The experience of filming Black Swan (which I finally saw yesterday and am still recovering from) must have been so intense the two pint-sized actresses decided they needed a little break. They obviously got very close during filming as they (spoiler alert)  became the same person.

Natalie stars in No Strings Attached with Mila’s former boyfriend, Michael Kelso, about friends who become friends with benefits. Meanwhile, Mila stars with that guy from *NSYNC (whose album No Strings Attached was one of the seminal productions of the late-90s/early-00s boy band craze) in a movie called…Friends with Benefits.

I’m beginning to think Daron Aronofsky is behind all of this and Winona Ryder is going to show up dead at one or both of these premieres.

As one of the perks to this collection this multi-talented man has come up with a twisted way to promote his collection… William Rast the movie… and I have to admit the commercials are pretty legit too!

For charity that is, let’s just call this the Digital Life Sacrifice happening on December 1st for World Aids Day.

and obviously you know we’re kidding, although it isn’t Michael Cera…out of all the people on the  LIST they cho0se this guy? RYAN REYNOLDS.. um no, he doesn’t even fall under my mildly attractive list… and can’t even pull off the hot seductive look… gross, that’s all.

Brit Brit’s handlers fear that Flores wants to give her the old shake down by having the case tried in civil court and are campaigning for a private case in probate court.

Damn you Flores. Hasn’t Britney suffered enough? As if shouldering the burden of teen pop superstardom, pretending to date Justin Timberlake for all those years and then a pubic breakdown that served as fodder for countless late night talk show hosts for years, the girl deserves some peace.

In the interview, Cameron opens up about dating bad boys, working with her ex, Justin Timberlake, and her “juicy booty.”

On her figure: “Most booties that propel girls are usually the bigger booties. I have a little tiny one, but it is, nonetheless, juicy.”

When asked about who she’s dating, Cameron was coy, “I grew up with the Dodgers, but now I’m a Yankees fan.”

On aging: “The only way to stop it is if you die. But that’s not a great alternative.” She’d much rather be Helen Mirren. “That woman is drop-dead sexy. She’s not trying to turn back the hands of time, she is just taking care of herself.” And, more impressively, “She’s a nudist!”

On her body: “The more I work on my body at this age, the better it gets. . . I feel so much more attractive now. A thousand percent. I’m appreciating my skin and my wrinkles and all those things.”

On her relationships, and dating bad boys: “I’ve always loved men and boys,” she says with a grin. “I don’t get hung up on what boys do. I don’t have a nagging nature. I feel like I can be a woman but also relate to a man. . . Who doesn’t like the bad boy, until you grow up and realize bad boys are not the way to go? I’m done with that.”

On working with her ex, Justin Timberlake, in the upcoming comedy Bad Teacher: “Justin and I have laughed together for years. He is the funniest guy; you’ve seen the stuff he does on SNL.” She appreciated the shorthand an ex-couple can have. “Oh, absolutely,” she says, nodding. Humor brought them together in the first place then? She responds with an emphatic yes.”

THE MISUNDERSTOOD MR. COLTON

The widely misunderstood and misinterpreted Mr. Charles Caleb Colton (1780–1832) is well-known for his eccentricities. An English writer held up by scholars as an example of someone often quoted, yet rarely understood. Colton’s forgotten work includes books and collections of epigrammatic aphorisms and short essays on conduct, like Lacon, or Many Things in Few Words, addressed to those who think., Lacon, Vol. II, The Conflagration of Moscow, An Ode on the Death of Lord Byron, and an unpublished poem of 600 lines called Modern Antiquity,  all of which has phenomenal popularity in Colton’s time. In the present-day Colton is one of the most quoted author since the twentieth century, and on the book Lacon, volume I, no. 183 is one of my most favorite quotes of all “Imitation is the sincerest of flattery.”

Like the Englishman, Mr. Colton I feel I am widely misunderstood and misinterpreted sometimes, and I seek refuge on books, books give me a high that no opium in the world can ever give, no critic in the world can ever sabotage, books don’t judge, it’s just there to nurture you, and to heal you, now I sound like a hippie, but being a “photographer” who shoots men with six packs or eight packs (its fun) like the rest of the fashion industry, I can’t help but feel “shallow”, especially when most of the people around you quotes “Madonna” and “Ana Wintour” like their “Jesus Christ” or “Buddha”, excuse the pun.

ROLL WITH THE PUNCHES, TOMORROW’S ANOTHER DAY

I’m working now on a novel that channels my creative energy, my juicy life experiences, my fantasies, my hopes, and my secrets into a book, I’m working with a published fiction author/ghostwriter and an editor to help me polish what I wrote and just hope it pays off. I remember writing about my mother for a short story contest back in highschool, if it’s any sign at all, I bagged the first prize, and I remember the judges actually thought it was written by a senior when I was a sophomore at that time, it was the same ART WEEK, I also got the first prize for a painting competition. And now I am a photographer who is trying another chance into that route I never took back in highschool. Filipino’s are known for being over-achievers, and thats how I grew up, to always give my 100% in everything, to be the best version of me, and I assure you it is a bittersweet struggle, the story of my life. Another thing Filipinos are known for, “they are all  fighters”, they thrive on adversity, “Roll with the punches, tomorrow’s another day” like in the movie Jerry Maguire. The greatest and the most literal symbol of those punches is the island nation’s great 21st century hero, he is a fighter who always roll with the punches of life, known to boxing fans and aficionados of the world as “Pac-Man” and the cover boy of the latest Time Magazine Asia Edition, the unstoppable force in the boxing world, Manny Pacquiao. One of the inspiration for the latest cover of MATE MAGAZINE that I took in L.A. and out this month as their year ender for 2009, with the actor/model Marco Dapper.

NAVO: COPYCAT OR PAYING HOMAGE

I love the sadomasochistic film “Fight Club” (1999) based on the Chuck Palahniuk novel that starred Brad Pitt as Tyler Durden and Edward Norton as The Narrator, this film adaptation will always be on my top ten list of best movies in the last decades, I also love the David Cronenberg car-crash fetish film “Crash” (1996) based on the J.G. Ballard novel starring James Spader as James Ballard. Fire is also an important element in the novel that I’m working on, obviously I’m in the mood of burning things, creatively I’m on my “arsonist mode”. The Steven Klein Cover of Justin Timberlake for Arena Homme Plus that never got published to respect the 9/11 attack, they published an alternate cover without the US flag icon, and noted that along with the first cover choice on the inside page with this explanation. Now the million dollar question is, am I a copycat or paying homage? Let the years where my true inspirations talk, Fight Club was released 1999, Crash was 1996 and the Steven Klein’s “Alternate” Arena Homme Plus Cover was on 2001 (a pivotal year for most of us), whether Mr. Klein have seen Brad Pitt’s Fight Club and David Cronenberg’s Crash, one thing is for sure, Mr. Klein worked with Brad Pitt several times and I’m 100% sure he has seen it. Does Film, Magazines, Books and People inspire me?, YES. Do I love Steven Klein’s work?, YES. Is there a lot of “COSMOPOLITAN Magazine educated, PEREZ HILTON wannabee bloggers” out there? YES. Did I pay homage or I ripped off a Steven Klein? You’ll be the judge of that, along with the people who judged, misunderstood, and misinterpreted the man who coined “Imitation is the sincerest of flattery.”

Paris’ high-end  Colette recently slated that they will carry Justin Timberlake’s label, William Rast. Lindsay Lohan had this to say via Twitter: “I can’t believe you are lowering yourselves to a MACY’S brand- I am speechless. Paris is chic not mid America. Gross.” Well, here’s a perfect example of why you should think before you speak, because Lohan ended up with this appology: “I am sorry for the unnecessary comment-wasn’t meant to be a jab,” she said. “I have some William Rast & Ut’s great-was a friends words. And my 6126 leggings are in Macy’s West and they’ve been great to work with.” I wouldn’t exactly bash labels that I wear or store who sell my accessories. LOL at LiLo throwing herself under the bus.

When Anna Wintour headed backstage to greet Justin Timberlake before his big show, we were hoping some video would surface of her christening him as the next great celebrity designer. Of course all we got was this awkward photo in which Justin refuses to smile and Anna does. It’s kind of creepy when those gowls perk up…

For their March 2009 issue, GQ places Justin Timberlake at the top of their “10 Most Stylish Men in America” list.

Besides looking great in (or out of) a suit and showing up for events impeccably dressed, JT also has a clothing line and is credited as a trend-setter.

The list also includes T.I., Kanye West, and Jason Schwartzman.

William Rast,  Justin Timberlake’s line, will make its Bryant Park debut next month when it holds its spring show at the tents during New York Fashion Week.

“The show is scheduled for Feb. 16 at 7 p.m. And for those who might anticipate a concert, there won’t be one. A spokeswoman for William Rast said that while Timberlake is scheduled to be present at the show, there will be no performance. This will be the brand’s second show during fashion week in New York. The last show, in September, was held at the Roseland Ballroom when a Timberlake performance was rumored but never materialized, much to the anger of attendees.”

Though news has recently surfaced that Jessica Biel would be designing a line of handbags for William Rast, reps for the line are denying any news of that sort. William Rast, created by Jessica’s boyfriend Justin Timberlake, will not be getting a Biel collection addition. At least that’s one less celebrity off of the designer list.
