Sadove joins a long and prestigious list of Superstar honorees including Karl Lagerfeld, Tom Ford, Giorgio Armani, Donna Karan and Valentino Garavani.

FGI will also honor some Stars who aren’t quite as Super such as Raf Simons, recent haute couture hero Giambattista Valli and Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte in the fashion category and Jules Moore will get her dues in the entertainment category. Guinness, meanwhile, will receive the Fashion Provocateur award.

Loveable mo Simon Doonan will host the event at Cipriani on Wall Street and Ruben Toledo will handle the award artwork. [WWD]

Though I live by Unzipped and gave Bravo‘s The Fashion Show a shot (even before the inclusion of Iman), once the mandals came out I just couldn’t keep my silence any longer.

2. Christian Audigier

Audigier would land on this list just for creating Ed Hardy, but religiously wearing it only cements his inclusion.

3. Vivienne Westwood

You know Crazy Cat Lady from The Simpsons? Dye her hair Carrot Top orange, throw her in a combat boot and call her Vivienne Westwood.

4. John Galliano

I’m less offended by his ringing endorsement of Hitler than by his penchant for gay pirate dandyism.

5. Kate Mulleavy

Turns out you can go wrong with all black, whereas a pop of color and a show of effort are always in fashion.

6. Jeremy Scott

Scott’s look says to me “Club kid who kept partying long after the trash was swept up” only Scott then rummaged through said trash for this jacket.

7. Patricia Field

Though she practically single-handedly created the fashion icon known as Carrie Bradshaw, Pat Field can give off too a bit too much sex in the city. Though kudos for rocking that Jessica Rabbit red hair better and before Rihanna.

8. Anna Sui

I saw Anna Sui on the street the other day…though it could’ve been a bag lady. Either way her China Bang was stunning.

9  Karl Lagerfeld, Perhaps a controversial choice, but the gay vampire look sometimes leaves me…cold.

10. Betsey Johnson

There’s nothing I want more than to see Betsey Johnson doing cartwheels in a ballerina tutu at age 90. Just because it’s bad doesn’t mean it doesn’t feel good.

- Grace Coddington‘s 70th birthday was a who’s who of fashion royalty, with a guest list including Anna Wintour, Marc Jacobs, Naomi Campbell, Oscar de la Renta, Calvin Klein, Annie Leibovitz,  Helmut Lang, André Leon Talley, Liya Kebede, Karen Elson, Stefano Pilati, Hamish Bowles, Karlie Kloss, Nicolas Ghesquière, Bruce Weber, Patrick Demarchelier, Vera Wang, Edward Enninful, Riccardo Tisci, Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez from Proenza Schouler and Laura and Kate Mulleavy from Rodarte. Twas clearly a magical night, as evidenced by this photo of Anna having what appears to be…a good time:

The Rodarte sisters teamed up with video artist Todd Cole to create a very artsy film, called Aanteni (translates to Nowness), which features model Guinevere van Seenus in three diffrent looks from the label’s Spring 2010 collection.

For Rodarte’s Spring/Summer 2010 Runway Show last week during Fashion Week in NYC, MAC Cosmetic’s Senior Artist Chantel Miller took makeup art to new heights. In collaboration with Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy , miller designed full-sleeve, half-sleeve and neck tattoos painted on BY HAND using only MAC cosmetics and brushes. It took 40 artists, yes I said 40 artists, and 4 hours to prepare and accomplish the look on the models before the show.

AMAZING. UTTERLY AMAZING.

For S/S 10, Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte summoned up a mythical, battle scarred woman emerging victorious from ashes of being burnt alive, like a Californian condor, that mangled and tattered vulture. If the reference sounds kooky, the collection was anything but, being both powerful and darkly majestic. Painted with tribal tattoos, the models appeared from the fog of dry ice, resembling primitive warriors. This idea of ashes meant the fabrics (leather, silks, cheesecloth, plastic, macramé and cobweb) this season were burnt, shredded, destroyed and utterly ruined until they were remnants of their former selves and then delicately draped and latticed back together again.

The Lovely Mulleavy’s are partnering with Colette to creating a month-long gallery and retail space starting during Paris Fashion Week. Colette, Target, and Sesame Street. Not bad Mulleavy’s, not bad at all.

“Rodarte has always been so inspiring. I’m fascinated by their world. We already gave them windows for their first season and I was impressed with the way they built them, so I’m happy to give them space at Colette to express more, to let them introduce their collection but also everything they like,” says Colette buyer Sarah Lerfel.

The pop shop will feature their favourite CDs and DVDs, artwork by Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon, Rodarte knitted animals, limited edition jewellery created by their mother, glitter taxidermy by Annakim Violette and marbled ballet flats designed in conjunction with Repetto.

Kate Mulleavy told WWD, it was an opportunity “to let people inside of our minds. It’ almost as if you are in our studio.”

So worth a trip to Paris to check this out.

Kate and Laura Mulleavy, the Pasadena, California based sisters, who took home this year’s CFDA award for womenswear, have designed a 55-piece holiday collection for Target’s GO International. The clothes hit shelves on December 20th and will be priced from $9.99 – $79.99,  a major discount considering the girls normally charge up to $21,000 for one of their highly covetable wears.

My assumption is that this will undoubtingly lead to the introduction of a lower priced line for the curvaciously delicious designers, but only time will tell.

So indies, are you taking the hook and shopping Rodarte at Target when it hits this Holiday?

 This Thursday we missed the Mulleavy’s celebration of their upcoming Me magazine cover.I’ve been biting my tongue on these girls, especially Kate, who seem to be able to create some of the most timeless American couture pieces of our day and yet are completely unable to dress themselves. And before any heifers out there start a riot, let me stress that this has nothing to do with the girls being morbidly obese (not my standards, strictly fashions).  It does have everything to do with there desire to always rock dated jeans and black tops.  It’s okay to have a little meat on them bones, but when you resort to default chunky wear, well the gloves come off hunnies. Please take some of your monies and hire a stylist/dietician (I here Rachael Zoe is poking around for some spotlight) and get on the fast track to fashion fabulousness, if not you’ll be better known for your expanding waist line than your amazing ability to design.
