I totally had to features the reigning queen of boy seduction since I finally got around to watching The Reader this weekend. Absolutely amazing!!! I’ve renewed my faith in Kate the Great after that film and if you haven’t seen it rent it immediataely. Completely the greatest Nazi/Jew/Illiteracy love story of our generation.

It’s clearly already the year of Kate Winslet. The non-movie-star movie star hits the cover of InStyle’s February 2009 issue in blue Hervé Léger, and looks super pretty inside.

Probably airbrushing aside, she truly gets better with age.

More images from Kate Winslet’s February 2009 ELLE UK spread have surfaced.  The retro-inspired modern looks are a good change for her.  I feel stylists usually can’t let go of her Titanic image, and stick her in period piece-style editorials.  I see nothing flowy here, though; and no bodices, petticoats, or men in tights.

Here’s hoping for no photoshop lawsuits…!

A couple of days ago we featured Kate Winslet’s spread in Vanity Fair. Everything turned out great, but Ms. Winslet seems to have some personal issues with the picture above. Word has it when Steven Meisel was shooting Kate she was told that the fur throw pictured above was fake fur. Well, you can imagined how angry she was when she found out that wasn’t true.

“Although there were both real and fake furs on set, the fur used in the photograph is real. We thought Ms. Winslet was aware of this, and we’re sorry for the miscommunication.”

Kate Winslet channels French screen star Catherine Deneuve in Belle de Jour for the December 2008 issue of Vanity Fair, on newsstands November 11.

“I often look at women who wear great jeans and high heels and nice little T-shirts wandering around the city and I think, I should make more of an effort. … But then I think, they can’t be happy in those heels!”

Rumor has it there’s a new movie in the works! Production is underway about the life of Vivienne Westwood. Who will play the star-studded designer? None other then Kate Winslet! According to British Marie Claire, the designer’s managing director made a few comments about the upcoming film to guests at Vivienne’s show.

“Kate Winslet will play Vivienne from the 70s to present day.”

Though no one has quite caught the film in action or behind the scenes, it seems as though it’s pretty definite. Universal has been rumored to be picking up the film, but there was no confirmation on part of either party (Universal or Winslet).
