The Material Girl line has a vintage feel to it — does your style come from a similar place?
Definitely. I think I take my style from all walks of life, and all generations and decades of life as well. I love mixing ’50s with ’80s and classic with punk. And i think that’s what this line embodies. It allows you to rework the same pieces in different ways so people don’t realize that you’ve worn it before. I mean, I wear the same thing all the time — if I’m at home, I’m in sweatpants. I don’t care. But when you go out, you want something that’s versatile.

What excites you the most about being the face of Material Girl?
To have Madonna ask you to be the face of her brand, that’s the coolest thing ever. As a young girl who grew up idolizing her and thinking that she was the be-all and end-all of how women should be, being the face of Material Girl is the greatest honor I’ve ever had.

You’re a member of the Fashion Police, but what’s the worst fashion faux pas that you’ve personally committed?
Sweat stains on clothes! I’ll never be one of these girls who could walk into anything and say, ‘I can do this!’ I always get nervous. I always get scared. I’m even nervous about judging these girls for this contest! You never want to disappoint, you never want to say that wrong thing. I get nervous and then I start sweating. People literally interview me on the red carpet and I’m like dabbing my top lip, trying to be subtle about it. I’m like oh my God, get me out!

So do you get nervous when you do a taping of Fashion Police?
No, because Joan is just so funny! We’re like a family now. It’s mainly a comedy show based on fashion and it’s one of those things where you have to have a sense of humor about yourself.

From Kate Bosworth to Kate the college student from Missouri who hitchhiked her way to California (and proceeded to campout on in the open air for three days), the one thing that the Coachella Music Festival did was wrangle in the country’s loveliest bohemian-chic ladies together for a weekend full of music, events, and of course, fashion.  We spotted Rihanna, Kesha, Nicole Richie, and tons of other young starlets wearing long skirts, sun dresses, sandals, and oh-so-chic sunglasses.  Click here to check out our favorite looks hosted by Lookbooks.com , for your viewing pleasure.

I truly think both girls were amazing choices for the brand but this season Kelly adds a certain freshness with her cool. I know I can’t wait to see more images from the campaign coming soon. Speaking of coming soon I can predict that these garments are going to sell out at the department store once they hit the shelves.

The label’s blog announced on January 11th that they were “desperately seeking” a new Material Girl and yesterday they confirmed that Kelly was indeed  their Lucky Star:

“We are so thrilled to announce Kelly Osbourne is the the new face of Material Girl for 2011! We’ve had a long time crush on Kelly and featured her as one of our ‘cool peeps’ over the summer.”

Not only is Kelly someone young girls can and should look up to as a style icon, but she’s not likely to flash her boobs in a half-hearted attempt at so-called rock rebellion.

At least not these days. She’s a lady now.

Lea Michele (#5), Kristin Stewart (#7) Taylor Swift (#8) and Olivia Palermo (#9) somehow all made the top 10. I know this is Teen Vogue, but let’s raise the bar a little and maybe swap ‘em out for Emma Watson (#16), Keira Knightley (#20), Chloë Sevigny (#18) and Freida Pinto (#21).

Though I will say that I am glad that Kelly Osborune (#25) made the list. She’s really come into her own style, plus I love her with Joan Rivers on E!’s Fashion Police. If only they would get rid of that damned orange skeleton, Giuliana Rancic.

Meanwhile, three out of four Gossip Girls made the top 50: Leighton Meester (#19) and Jessica Szohr (#32), however (non-teen) Vogue‘s Best Dressed cover girl Blake Lively has to settle for #23. Nonetheless the show was pretty bad ass, (duh), although I was puzzled as to why the lead singer of The Virgins was dressed like a mime. Kind of hard to take him seriously singing about chicks when he’s dressed like the French version of a clown.

Of course the requisite celebs/chronic partiers showed up, Kate Bosworth, Waris, Chloe Sevigny, Kelly Osbourne, Juliette Lewis, Jessica Stam, Charlotte Ronson, and my bff famed rock photog Mick Rock (photo of me and Mick).

What’s interesting is that this season Ray Ban is using not models but musicians for its latest campaign. And not just any musicians, but specifically indie rockers such as like The Plastiscines, Free Energy, and We Are Scientists. If the previews they had displayed are any indication of what’s to come, Ray Ban has totally just upped it’s cool factor.

When Prince Charles made the decision to support Kelly Osbourne’s ad campaign for St. Tropez with his charity, The Prince’s Trust, he thought he was making a bold move for self-image. But after quite the pressure from parents to look beyond the ad and  “Self Esteem” logo, The Prince’s Trust has withdrawn its helping hand. Several people began to realize, after seeing a video that features Osbourne talking about her confidence after a fake St. Tropez tan, that this “self-esteem” campaign was really anything but a step forward for self image.

Alexis Bledel & Kelly Osbourne both wore this ruffle dress from H&M. Yes, I said H&M. It’s surprising enough to see a celebrity in cheap dress, but to see two of them in the same dress from the mall—that’s a little more unexpected. One definitely pulled if off better than the other, though.

The color is not right on Alexis. It completely washes her out. In addition to bad color, those peep toe boots with the dress are horrible. The only thing I liked about her was the red lip & nails.

Kelly Osbourne gets away with this neutral shade a little better—it’s still not the greatest for her coloring. I like the accessories more here too, like those metallic gold heels.

Here is our joy, Foxy, who we proudly adopted. She’s a lazy bum but we love her, she likes to sleep on our bed when we’re gone.

Love this look, she’s been looking absolutly amazing lately, the hair, the makeup, even the shoes look great. She has a great neckline and I’m glad she’s taking advantage of it, and her pale skin with her dark hair makes her look 40s chic.

I just love when any part of the Osbourne family calls someone else ‘sad’…

Papa may not preach, but apparently he knows how to shell out money for a stylist. A girl who goes from looking like Rosanne Bar to the white English version of Rihanna deserves some praise, or atleast her stylist does. Kelly has been doing well for herself lately, and as evil spirited as we are precieved to be, Fashion Indie loves how she’s been looking.

The Town That Boars Me is the latest 15 minute indie film written and directed by rising star Ben Charles Edwards and produced by Glass Loves and Shoot To Kill. A modern musical, shot in B-movie style, it features a cast that includes a host of celebrity names, including Kelly Osbourne, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Sadie Frost, Natt Weller, Zandra Rhodes, Andrew Logan, Dee C Lee and Jodie Harsh and was made entirely on love and 0 budget.

The Town That Boars Me

The London premiere of Batman:The Dark Night, brought the stars and London guest together. I couldn’t help but notice a cohesive pattern among the red carpet: darkness. While Heath Ledger’s death and the film’s title evoke a dark tone, it’s summer! Summer is the time for white, pastels and brights. While most of the guests looked stunning, the lack of variation was disappointing. On a brighter note, the film raked in 155.34 Mill during the weekend, at box office, now there is something to smile about!

Kelly looks like she’s trying to hide some of her left over fat flaps (come on, you know she got a case of the gastric) under this ill fitting peasant dress. The color sucks and the boots are vicious.  Kate Moss verified her status as fading fashion trendsetter with a look that rocked three years ago when Sienna Miller did it. Also, more boots.  Amy Winehouse looks ridiculous in the dress above, the push-up padding ain’t working and no one really wants to here Rehab for the millionth time. Amy, come out with a new album or die already, you’re really starting to annoy me.

Pete Doherty’s coke/fuck buddy looks like a poor mans Courtney Love, while Alexa Chung looks like she’s dating her younger brother. More BOOTS!!! You know, I get it. It’s muddy so you figure you need to throw on a pair of black foot rapers, but seriously could one of you been original and worn a different color or something.  I kind of love the high waisted shorts though, what do you think indies, trendspark worthy?

Duffy gives her best O-face and rocks out with more high-waisted shorts. (Totally gonna be a trendspark).

I really want yellow rain coats to be cool. Can some of you out there get on this?  Or maybe a designer can work on creating it? Lily Allen is starting to look like a caricature of herself, no?  And Pixie has one of the coolest cardigans I’ve seen in a long time.  Oh yeah, AND MORE FUCKING BOOTS….
