Last week, our cell phones changed automatically, leaving us with one less hour of sleep but the joy of lingering daylight. I took the time to wind my watch ahead as well, a task that, for many young folks, is a lost art. But time pieces are back and better than ever, so why not spring ahead this season with a little wrist candy? I got the chance to see some of the very <strong>best watches</strong> from five acclaimed brands last week, and I guarantee you&#8217;ll find two or three you can&#8217;t live without.</p><p><a

I did my nails everywhere, painting over layers to change up the colors constantly. There was a rotating slew of colors that cycled through the bag this week.</div><div>3. /> 5. Several <em>WWD</em>s and <em>Daily Front Row</em>s. I do admit I love reading the Daily.<br
/> 6. Tickets. Many. Some I&#8217;ve disposed of, some made it. Some standing, some seats. None actually with my name on it.<br
/> 7. Various runs of show. Ones that have lingered in my bag: <strong><a
href="http://fashionindie.com/timo-weiland-trips-with-gloria-vanderbilt-and-keith-richards-for-fall-2011/" target="_blank">Timo Weiland</a></strong>, <strong><a

/> 8. ESSENTIAL: Blackberry. Can&#8217;t believe it took me this long to talk about it. Maybe because I&#8217;ve done so much damage on it that it actually just broke. Fashion Week broke my phone&#8230;. now&#8230;. iPhone?<br
/> 9. Because that&#8217;s not an iPhone, that&#8217;s an iPod touch and it&#8217;s been keeping me cat walking myself from place to place.<br
/> 10. Biggie camera. I spent 3 years, that&#8217;s 6 seasons in the PIT with this guy. Not this year. Now I just got to use it on celebs backstage, at presentations and the like.<br
/> 11. WIRES. OMG. My bag was like a radio shack. Heaven forbid I should be without a charge.<br
/> 12. Small purse. Vintage. Used it when I stashed the big lady mama at the after party coat checks.<br
/> 13. Wallet. Duh.<br
/> 14. Deck of cards? The last free gift to remain in this bag. They&#8217;re usually the first to go when I get home.<br
/> 15. Voice recorder, which I ditched for my Blackberry video camera.<br
/> 16. Pashmina &#8211; much lighter than a laptop case. I didn&#8217;t wear it, my MacBook did.<br
/> 17. Vintage Korean flower cardi I wore yesterday. I took it off when the world got mild.<br
/> 18. Urban Zen literature &#8211; got my reikis healed (?) in the AmEx Skybox. Still confused about the process, but I felt great after.<br
/> 19. My handy dandy notebook. All of my show notes are in this little thing.<br
/> 20. Napkin from Timo Weiland&#8217;s after party on which <strong>Paul Steiger</strong> (as in <strong>Walter</strong>&#8216;s son) drew shoes for me. I&#8217;m going to the press sample sale today! <img

align="left">I revived this black linen dress from my high school wardrobe last time I visited my parent&#8217;s house and I couldn&#8217;t be happier for countless reasons. The first is that it still fits! The second is that it&#8217;s back in style. The last being that it brings to mind so many priceless memories of high school outings, graduation parties, and girls&#8217; nights out (with strict curfews, of course). I can&#8217;t for the life of me remember where I bought it, but it has quickly become one of my favorite LBD&#8217;s all over again. It really makes me want to hold on to all outdated item in my closet in the hopes that they will one day be back in style. (You&#8217;ll probably see me in a few years on <a

Tourist Chic?!?</p><p><span
id="more-57427"></span></p><p>Let me preface this by saying that Times Square is the Disneyfied asshole of New York City. No other place makes your fashionable eyes bleed more than on Broadway, where bloated tourists make their way to memorable destinations like the M&amp;M factory or Rock of Ages. The fact that Kenneth Cole is putting money into this area only suggests that the designer has officially lost it. People in Times Square don&#8217;t buy your bags. They buy Crocs, cargo shorts, and Double Quarter Pounders with Cheese. For shame Kenneth Cole, for shame.</p><p>On a sidenote, Matisyahu will be performing at a private concert for the designer during Fashion&#8217;s Night Out on Sept 10th. Really, Matisyahu? He&#8217;s still relevant? Get some better cultural advisors at that place Kenny, he had one barely notable hit 3 years ago and since hasn&#8217;t wowed any of us with his wannabe-rastaisms.</p><p>Turn on the radio, or at least check out <a

style="outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; background-image: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; -webkit-background-clip: initial; -webkit-background-origin: initial; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; margin-left: 0px; color: #383843; background-position: initial initial; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;"><strong

Mix dressy with casual or rugged with refined. And one item should be more tailored. For example, if you’re wearing a T-shirt, wear cleaner jeans. Wear a blazer with the jeans or a casual top with slacks.</p><p
style="outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; background-image: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; -webkit-background-clip: initial; -webkit-background-origin: initial; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; margin-left: 0px; color: #383843; background-position: initial initial; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;"><strong

There’s that old adage that before you judge somebody you should walk a mile in their shoes. Then if you don’t like them, you’re a mile away and you have their shoes. What you wear below the ankles is critical.</p><p
style="outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; background-image: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; -webkit-background-clip: initial; -webkit-background-origin: initial; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; margin-left: 0px; color: #383843; background-position: initial initial; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;"><strong
style="outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; background-image: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; -webkit-background-clip: initial; -webkit-background-origin: initial; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; font-weight: 700; background-position: initial initial; padding: 0px; margin: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;">5. </strong>Establish a uniform, then layer in something new to make it fresh each day. I always have my white shirt, my jeans, and my boots. Then I mix up the rest. Some days I wear a graphic tee with a white shirt and a vest. The next, I might wear a white shirt, a V-neck sweater, and a pin-striped blazer. But the must-haves for every wardrobe are a white shirt and a comfortable blazer.</p><p
style="outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; background-image: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; -webkit-background-clip: initial; -webkit-background-origin: initial; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; margin-left: 0px; color: #383843; background-position: initial initial; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;"><strong

style="outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; background-image: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; -webkit-background-clip: initial; -webkit-background-origin: initial; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; margin-left: 0px; color: #383843; background-position: initial initial; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;"><strong
style="outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; background-image: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; -webkit-background-clip: initial; -webkit-background-origin: initial; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; font-weight: 700; background-position: initial initial; padding: 0px; margin: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;">7. </strong>Vests are the accessory of the season. They look great as an element of sportswear or with a suit—as long as they’re not matching. It’s about breaking up the suit and then wearing the pieces as separates. The jacket, with or without the vest, can be worn with jeans. The pants can be worn with sneakers, T-shirts, and hooded sweaters.</p><p
style="outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; background-image: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; -webkit-background-clip: initial; -webkit-background-origin: initial; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; margin-left: 0px; color: #383843; background-position: initial initial; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;"><strong
style="outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; background-image: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; -webkit-background-clip: initial; -webkit-background-origin: initial; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; font-weight: 700; background-position: initial initial; padding: 0px; margin: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;">8. </strong>Patterns, like stripes, need to be very subtle. The message overall should be that you’re not wearing a matched wardrobe (or on parole). Contemplate wearing a jacket that doesn’t match your pants and a shirt that matches neither. Your belt and shoes don’t have to match either, but there needs to be a sense that everything works together.</p><p
style="outline-width: 0px; outline-style: initial; outline-color: initial; background-image: initial; background-repeat: initial; background-attachment: initial; -webkit-background-clip: initial; -webkit-background-origin: initial; background-color: transparent; vertical-align: baseline; margin-top: 0px; margin-right: 0px; margin-bottom: 1.5em; margin-left: 0px; color: #383843; background-position: initial initial; padding: 0px; border: 0px initial initial;"><strong

/> Kenneth Cole is going blog. The 25 year old fashion label is entering the digital publishing field with an online site dedicated to &#8220;Awearness&#8221;. As a special treat to bloggers, the first 25 that register on the site on February 18th will receive 50% off their next purchase as Cole&#8217;s. What will the blog be about? &#8220;Wear&#8221; expecting a lot of plays on words (see how I did that. &#8220;Wear&#8221; instead of &#8220;We&#8217;re&#8221;. Oh, we are so goddamn witty.) At the end of the day will anyone really care? The Colester is still a New York must, but his reach outside the city streets seems a little less than spectacular as industry types have been tattling lately. Guess the blog is his way to reconnect with the disconnected. In any case, I can definitely use a 50% off discount to the store, so I will surely be one of the first on it. Expect a true critique of the site once it launches February 18th. <br
