House of Harlow 1960 Spring/Summer 2009 Lookbook

Nicole Richie shows she’s the best representative of her own collection in the new lookbook for her House of Harlow 1960 accessories line.
In the Spring/Summer 2009 lookbook, a pre-pregnancy Nicole models her own vintage-inspired designs, which sell at Kitson and Shopbop, most for under $100.

Elizabeth & James Line Doing Very Well

The Olsen twins’ line, Elizabeth & James, is doing quite well, from a celebrity following to big name retailers.
The Olsens have attracted big name celebs such as Heidi Klum, Beyonce and Rihanna, all spotted wearing button-ups from the line.
Both Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s and Kitson in Los Angeles have reported phenomenal sales for the twins’ rags, with the senior VP fashion director at Neiman Marcus calling the line a “bright spot” in dismal season for sales!
Ashley and Mary-Kate are now in talks with footwear giant Steve Madden to design a shoe line as well as a menswear line planned for the fall.
Elizabeth and James’ lowest priced item is a one-shoulder cotton tank for $95, with a leather jacket going for $775 and dresses ranging from $225-$475!!!

Saks Drops Posh

Poor Posh!
First Henri Bendel and Kitson dropped Victoria Beckham’s designs because sales didn’t live up to expectations. Now Saks has dropped her dVb denim line.
Reportedly Saks felt “offended when she sold her dress line to Bergdorf’s and not to Saks, even though Saks launched her denim line in their New York store.”
I can’t imagine the $300 price from a celebrity designer was a good incentive either!

Sneak Peek: House of Harlow 1960
House of Harlow 1960, Nicole Richie’s jewelry line with Mouawad, has hit Kitson. Pieces range from $30 to $150 and are made of everything from fabric, leather and silk, to chains, rivets and gold-plated metals.
Conrad Just Won’t Give Up

It’s certainly no surprise anymore that Conrad’s line of “basic” clothing isn’t doing too hot, especially since the collection was dropped from Kitson’s a mere month prior to the day. Though it probably won’t do much good, the crowd seems to be giving Conrad one last stab at success. When Conrad appears as a presenter at the Emmy’s on September 21st she won’t be alone; whose going to be right behind her? Her models! And yes, they will be dressed in full LC attire as they hand out the awards to joyous winners. This should be…interesting?
Lauren Conrad Dropped!

It was inevitable, and everyone of us was hoping for it, we even had bets going..wait that was Amy Winehouse’s death. Anyways, this officially in, Lauren Conrad’s line was dropped from Kitson, the hot LA boutique, for not enough promo on Lauren’s part and very poor sales. Sound familiar? Yes, same thing happened to Vicky Beckham.
Kitson owner Fraser Ross states; They need to realize it’s no different than selling your album, your TV shows, your movies. You have to keep promoting it.”
Poor Posh

Victoria Beckham is becoming a fashion icon. She takes risks while maintaining her fabulous style. Selflessly Beckham planned to share her fashion genius and launch her own line. Unfortunately, Los Angeles boutique, Kitson has pushed back Beckham’s plans of launching her men’s collection, dVb until next year! In addition, many other boutiques have discontinued her denim collection. Personally, I was enamored by her denim collection, especially those star embroidered pockets. Thankfully Mrs. Beckham has kept her head up, with hopes to launch a couture line debuting this fall, at New York Fashion Week.
