Runway Rundown: Kostas Murkudis Spring/Summer 09

Integrating specific materials to be a major aspect of the collection, Kostas Murkudis has emerged with the Spring/Summer 09 line close by his side. A strong color scheme of variations on white is used thoroughly within the collection with the occasional black ensemble for the spotlight. For the collection, the materials used were a central tactic, which would allow the line to entertain focus. Transparent materials were molded in a variety of contortions in a bold and successful attempt to give rise to form. The fabrics used which were not transparent, allowed the line to explore architectural form. All of the pieces throughout the collection are very different; however, they all seem to work very well as one. I’d say it’s a job well done!
