Cannes Red Carpet Trend: Seeing Scarlet

Edited by

Cannes Film Festival came to a close during Memorial Day weekend, and we were quite impressed with most of the red carpet looks from our favorite celebrities and their stylists. Black and bling were certainly prevalent red carpet choices for the occasion, but we were pleasantly surprised at how many ladies were seeing red during the fest. Whether from nose to toes or just with a splash of detail, red on the red carpet was hot, hot, hot at Cannes 2012. See the gallery after the jump.

Kristen Stewart Mistaken for Best Dressed Woman, Introducing Azealia del Rey and Calvin Klein Sends Child Groom to Rehab in Style

Edited by

- Just when you thought all the fashion house musical chairs was over, Alistair Carr has left his post as design director of Pringle of Scotland. I guess once he popped he could stop…I know, I know, it’s cheap but c’mon it’s Friday. [Telegraph]

- Glamour UK named Kristen Stewart the best dressed woman of 2012 after every other woman apparently fell off the face of the earth. Clearly Twilight fever has yet to die a merciful death as her shaggy co-star Robert Pattinson was named best dressed man. [Glamour UK]

The Photoshop Is Closed: New Tool Measures Amount of Airbrushing

Edited by

Photoshop can work wonders. Miracles really. How else can you explain Kristen Stewart appearing almost human and nearly interesting  in W‘s September issue? But as much as it can be used for good, Photoshop is more often used for evil; subtly — and sometimes blatantly — erasing the imperfections of models and celebrities. Now that a computer science professor at Dartmouth has introduced a new software tool to distinguish, on a scale from 1-5, how much a photo has been altered — your tax dollars hard at work — is this the end of Photoshop fakery?

Kristen Stewart Dons a Typically Messy Hairdo at the Breaking Dawn Premiere

Edited by

Kristen Stewart stepped out on the red carpet last night for the premiere of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 in a sequined J. Mendel Spring 2012 gown. Although she was working that thigh high slit, her makeup was a little too heavy for the event. It’s a good thing Fekkai Celebrity Stylist Adir Abergel was able to tame her typically messy, matted-down mane. See how to get the look after the jump.

Perfecting the Dead-Eyed Stare: Kristen Stewart in Vogue Italia

Edited by

I guess even Vogue Italia, that one link to editorial relevance in the Condé Nast stable of periodicals, can run afoul every now and then. Case in point, this bit of visual vomit Michelangelo di Battista threw up for their latest issue. Filmed in what could easily be your grandmother’s attic painted the most abhorrent shade of blue — with uninspired styling by Alice Gentilucci and listless and lifeless posing from Kristen Stewart whose hair apparently hasn’t seen a brush in ages –  this spread has Italian Vogue wading in levels of American Vogue dreckitude.  Enjoy after the jump.
