Gwen Stefani is her Glam Rock Self for Elle UK

Edited by

Elle UK wanted to know how Gwen Stefani does is all – wife, mother, fashion designer and musical diva. So they asked longtime friend Shirley Manson to find out for the April 2011 issue. Photographed for the spread and cover by Matthias Vriens-McGrath, Gwen rocks glamorous garb from Prada, Yves St. Laurent and Louis Vuitton with her quintessential edgy take. Running just a touch later than fashionably late, I sprinted through Lincoln Center in my five inch platforms, scanned/printed my ticket and thank the fashion gods I had a seat! The Theatre was well beyond capacity for the 8PM show, and at 8:25 (eek!) they were refusing entry to the straggling standers and forcing photographers waiting for a no-showing Matt Damon on the runway back into the pit. A security guard helped me to my seat, ejecting the Standing ticket holder out of my spot. Moments later, fog poured onto the entrance of the runway and the blazing L.A.M.B. insignia that was roaring on the giant screen melted into a visual feast. Fabulites like Joe Zee, Taryn Manning and Christian Siriano got the fullest effect from the front row, but I was plenty pleased with my partially obstructed view from A-8-4. Gwen Stefani staged a show of six musically engineered fly-styled vignettes.
