Armani Exchange Neon Carnival: Armani Exchange and 944 Magazine took over a private airport on the outskirts of the festival and built a fully-functioning, Armani Exchange-branded carnival. In addition to the ferris wheel, giant slide and carnival games, they managed to build an outdoor club in the middle of the venue, complete with celebrities and bottle service. DJs Devin Lucien, Jesse Marco, and DJ Politik kept the energy high while young Hollywood danced the night away. Josh Hartnett, Paris and Nicki Hilton, Camilla Belle, Kellen Lutz, Penn Badgley, Tara Reid, Jamie Chung and Elijah Wood were just a few of our celeb spottings.

Belvedere Music Lounge: The Belve Music Lounge provided a peaceful oasis from the hot desert sun. Located at a private estate in Bermuda Dunes, the lounge had a refreshing pool, mini sand pit, cold cocktails, a fun photo booth and models in bikinis demonstrating the Belvedere shaker app on iPads. DJ sets were as sought-after as the festival lineup: The Knux, Taryn Manning, Dirty Vegas, Yacht, Punches, Blaqstarr, DJ Berrie, Junior Sanchez, Theophilus London and more spun for our pleasure. Our celeb spottings included Rosario Dawson, Brittany Snow, Laidback Luke and Miguel.

Lacoste: Lacoste L!ve, the younger, more fashionable crocodile, hosted a Pool Party that supported the efforts of The Voice Project foundation. Patron popsicles cooled us off while DJ Cassidy kept us dancing. Celeb spottings included Katy Perry, Alexander Skarsgard, Malin Akerman, Kirsten Dunst, Diane Kruger, Joshua Jackson, Adrian Grenier, Ke$ha, Lea Michele, Kelly and Jack Osbourne and Jared Eng.

Though I, and no one else with possible exception of the Hollywood Foreign Press, saw Frankie & Alice, those giant earrings were enough to spark interest.  Also of note, that stunning curly afro.

But other than that, Halle hasn’t really been known for her wardrobe in her films. That is, unless you count her masterwork, B.A.P.S. Which I do.

Here are some of Berry’s more memorable gallavants through costume designer land to tide you over til the eagerly anticipated Annual Costume Designer Awards.

Boomerang (1992)

A relative unknown at the time, Halle was determined to be noticed as Eddie Murphy‘s love interest in the 90s typical subtle tones.

The Flintstones (1994)

Elizabeth Taylor‘s last feature film — way to cap a brilliant career, Liz —The Flintstones was also notable for Halle’s sexy Ms. Stone and her tempting mid-riff. Yabba-dabba-do it girl.

B.A.P.S (1997)

One word: genius. Three more words: Black American Princesses. And they certainly are royalty, what with those crowns of hair, those pleather suits and their claws painted the color of dreams. Screw Monster’s Ball, throw the Oscar at Halle for this gem.

Die Another Day (2002)

After the Ball, Halle Berry: Action Star was born. This Bond flick was the first in a series of ass-kicking roles for Berry and she entered this new arena by recreating Ursula Andress‘s iconic bikini-clad entrance from Dr. No.

Catwoman (2004)

And then there was this. In the slew of superhero movies that Hollywood studios have literally shat out since the new millennium, few can rival Catwoman for plain old awfulness. The first misstep was her costume, which is a safety pin away from stripper evening-wear.

Another misstep, casting Sharon Stone as a villainous woman who refuses to age and develops diamond hard skin. Who wants to see Sharon Stone play herself?

The new “Seafarer” collection from Australian company One Luv is a tribute to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic, Treasure Island and pays homage to the wild seas with intricate jewelry that are working timepieces. The quirky collection also has playful pieces like a miniature bulb that turns on and a miniature Rubik’s cube you can actually solve showing that One Luv knows how to get a Hell Yeah from the pack.

Breaking the mould isn’t just a goal at One Luv, it’s their rule of design. Since its establishment in 2004, One Luv’s designer Dina Ochwada has been creating innovative, fresh pieces that have made local media and outlets take notice…..

A brand I totally can’t afford but who always bring out dope cruise-wear and nautical inspired shit is Chanel…but  more affordable brands like Lacoste and chain-stores are always putting out cute stuff too, not forgetting thrift stores also!

Award winning architect Zaha Hadid has designed this limited collection of boots for Lacoste. The shoes, rubberized structures that wrap around the legs.

“The design expression behind the collaboration with Lacoste footwear allows the evolution of dynamic fluid grids” says Hadid. “When wrapped around the shape of a foot, these expand and contract to negotiate and adapt to the body ergonomically. In Doing so a landscape emerges, undulating and radiating as it merges seamlessly with the body”.

The current Lacoste Red’s campaign is so fresh, great to see a mainstream brand do something young and fun. AND they have made the entire campaign accessible on the Lacoste Red Website allowing visitors to download the wallpapers to their desktop or iPhone, and even creating a Lacoste Red iPhone application.

I have never been much of a Lacoste fan ever, but as bias as I am against the company, this line of shoes is just awful. I will say the boat shoes are pretty cool, but for the money it would cost me to have them I could have something way better I’m sure. Black and white doesn’t seem like much of a boat shoe color combo anyways. Though there wasn’t really too much depth in Lacoste’s designs that span them too far beyond the country club or a frat house, I guess they now have 25 more years to think about how their 100 year anniversary won’t look like this.

The stars of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2: Blake Lively, Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera and Amber Tamblyn.

The NYC premiere of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2 came to town last Monday. The stars hit the red carpet dressed in adorable fashion. From casual to chic, the celebs looked fantastic. While Blake Lively’s orange Grecian Gucci dress was my favorite, Alexis Bledel overall look was stunning. America Ferrera’s cerulean Brian Reyes dress looked great on her skin tone, and Amber Tamblyn’s navy jumpsuit was daring.

Unfortunately, everybody was not fashion forward. Lohan was by far the worst dressed. She looked too casual, as though she was going to the mall. Casual can work but it is all about execution. Gossip Girl’s Ed Westwick looked laid back and dashing in Lacoste. The Sisterhood stars were all smiles and looked darling. Catch the girls in the film, August 6th!

Really, really cool.

The Satchel said it best. The new collaboration with Junya Wantanbe MAN and Lacoste is by far the most laziest, lamest and unnecessary partnership in the history of design. They must have beat Junya over the head with a hammer before asking him to come up with these unoriginal polo’s.

“Yes, I will change the color of the alligator emblem and then sell the polos for $100 more than traditional retail.”

You would think Junya would have made a better effort on this line, but sometimes it’s just about the name and has nothing to do with making good fashion.  Or maybe they just didn’t want to send their overstock of polo’s to T.J Maxx or Marshall’s and figured a collaboration with Junya would have been cheaper than paying for shipping?
