Aaron promotes parties all over the city, COOL JERK at Sin Sin, The Box, Ruff Club, and Tribeca Grand, and is always dressed to kill.  Corey and I met Aaron through our favorite party spot, Ruff Club at the Annex, and we’ve become good friends.  We knew that Aaron would have the best stories, as he goes to and throws the best parties, so we’re super excited to hear what he’s up to now on Fashion Indie.  Look for Aaron’s column, ‘OUT With Aaron K’, following the life of the most interesting (and fashionable) Club Kid around.

I’m sure by now you’ve seen all of our ‘Last Night’s Party’s from last week, and you know that Thursday night we were at Webster Hall for Diesel’s U:Music talking with Cobra Starship and Passion Pit, and then avidly blogged until 5am so that you could all see the details from the night first, so our weekend started quite early.  Of course, we headed out Friday and Saturday to some different spots so we could (hopefully) have crazy/funny stories on Monday.

Our Friday started early as we felt the effects of staying up all night, and woke up early to head to the Nylon and SoBe Life Water sample sale and runway event and were sad to find that Daniel and Rebecca were not there.  Regardless, the event was a good time, a great turnout, and I got a few Hellz Bellz tees from the sample sale (which I’m quite excited about). Photos of this event are now up on Cult. Later, we met Daniel and Rebecca and headed over to a meeting with a potential party spot for Fashion Indie, and enjoyed a nice lunch. Then it was time for naps before the real partying began.  

Corey’s night started out at Webster Hall with Atrak, here’s what he had to say:

I spent Friday night at Webster Hall courtesy of my new aquaintance Lindsay Luv. As if the bottle service wasn’t enough, we had the best table in the house for A-Trak and Treasure Fingers, two of the best (and my favorite) DJ’s in the industry. The floor below was jam packed with kids, 90% of which couldn’t see they were so messed up, but every last one of them couldn’t help but move to the insanity that was A-trak. For a DJ set I must say it ended a bit early, so that meant it was time head over to The Annex to meet up with Hillary for promised fun at Ruff Club with Aaron K.

I never fail to follow through on a promise. After hitting up Angels and Kings (a bar I actually used to frequent..no mocking, please), I realized exactly why I stopped going there, so left and headed to have some real fun at Ruff Club.

Aaron K was ready to party as usual, in his giant tulle bow fastened with a brooch (which was absolutely amazing), and so were all of our other friends at Ruff. Needless to say, the night was full of good music, good friends, and not one, but two bottles. We closed the night outside chatting with new friends, and headed back to World Trade around 5am, luckily making it without any lost shoes.

Saturday was a bit more low-key (although I did not fail to miss the parade happening in Jersey City, anyone know what that was?), I headed down to Peculiar Pub to meet with Corey and a few of his old friends, and found myself surrounded with people I would find at every bar in Michigan (which isn’t a good thing, like that guy up there from the “New Haircut” video on Youtube) After a drink we left and headed to Red Head, which was quiet and relaxed, just the way I like it for a Saturday night.  We somehow managed to look down at our phones and realize it was 3:30AM, so closed the night with the bar, and parted ways.

No complaints for this weekend, it was a lot of fun, and we love Ruff Club as usual, sorry for the lack of crazy stories, I’m sure we’ll make up for it this week!

Last night, the fashion people gathered at SoHo Grand to preview the new collection by Rad Hourani. Hourani told Style.com that this unisex line isn’t necessarily a diffusion line (priced from $100-400), but that “this is just more relaxed and easier to wear in cotton and jerseys.”  The line will be available in November online and in stores, perfect timing for these pieces, which include a lot of jackets, vests, super skinny jeans, t shirts, and perfectly draped shorts.  

Judging from the runway and all of the fashionable people there, must-haves for fall:

-guys in heels

-platforms

-destroyed tees

-partially shaved heads (for guys and girls)

-black, black, black

We had the pleasure of seeing the man himself, who was looking fabulous as to be expected.  Other sightings, Kelly Cutrone (who told us that she works out in her cowboy boots), Kate Lanphear, Malcom Harris.

The hipsters are getting restless.

A very mod thought meets “real” models and a 50- year old brand all wrapped up in red, white and blue! What better way to launch a collection than with Ben Sherman’s nightlife photographer-blogger extraordinaire, Merlin Bronques from Lastnightsparty.com and a collection of his edgy, provocatively raw photos.

During the late 60s, Geoffery Mead of the Brighton Mod thought that Ben Sherman and anything having to do with the brand was, to say the least, the first British definition of ‘cool’. On Saturday night, all wrapped up in Soho, was a party of 300 people, dancing to 80s punk at Sherman’s store on Spring. A collaboration of the famous Sherman logo, American Apparel type photos and short films were all screaming the plectrum of the city’s preppy and mod come together in matrimony.

Agnes Deyn at Ben Sherman

Someone is in the right place when Agnes Deyn walks through the door and stays the whole night dancing and blending nearly without notice.  While standing in line for the one and only bathroom I caught up on some reading, getting tips from Sherman’s book on how to perfect your grass lawn tennis game.  There was also the joy of talking to an independent designer or two who seemed to flood this spot to connect to it’s “x” factor.

One could come to appreciate that this brand has taken a long drive throughout generations and has reckoned with every kid who had a pick in hand and the Sherman logo posted across their chest. It was no wonder that the beautiful people who showed up for this party could understand the young kid dressed as a police officer with a sex pistols vibe taking photographs of the crowds spontaneity and the indie films of Merlin Bronques projected on the walls of the stores fine construction!

React to the images, enjoy dancing with kids from brooklyn and have your picture taken by the occasional paparazzi. This was the party.
