Deer Dana was founded in 2008 by by designers Dana Veraldi and Kevin Tekinel. Their signature collection of tees and totes feature the images of icons both mainstream and underground. the label has collaborated with prestigious name susch as: Adidas, Tory Burch, Gap, and most recently Olivier Theyskens for Theory‘s Fashion’s Night Out.

INSPIRATION: Soviet legends, Georgian and Armenian folklore and a dash of punk.

TOP LOOKS: Grey nip-waist dress with Swarovski embellishment and gold chain sash, dark grey dress smock dress with poet sleeves and crystal hem, a loosely knitted crystal-studded top tucked into a voluminous black skirt with heavy fur trim, paired with a black fur muff.

ACCESSORIES: Fishnet tights of all colors, lace-up bootie heels paired with colored socks and jingly anklets, Swarovski crystal and chain headpieces layered over bandanas.

WHAT WE THOUGHT: If there was one word that describes Brazilian designer Alexandre Herchcovitch’s Fall 2010 collection, it would be rich.

Every piece sent down the runway — from cocktail dresses and trendy cropped pleated trousers to tartan flannel tops, bandanas and heavy dress coats — were embroidered, pleated, sequined, trimmed in fur and covered in Swarovski crystal within an inch of their lives.

While a Soviet theme was primary, Herchcovitch interjected it with touches of punk and his own techno-ethnic prints that gave the collection a kick of cool.

Anna Wintour reportedly didn’t want to wait in line for the Diesel Black Gold show on Tue night, she ‘got out of her car and then got right back in when they saw what a mess it was outside.’ Diesel reps deny she was ever confirmed to attend. Front row guest included Carine Roitfeld, Leigh Lezark, Daisy Lowe, and our very own Daniel Saynt (personally invited by Diesel to sit front row).

An apparently over packed and under organized show…celebs that sat front row include Amber Rose, Mena Suvari and Leigh Lezark.  He was inspired by a Parisian 1960s women, yet others say it was more ’90s. Read more here.

The launch of GUCCI ICON-TEMPORARY, a flash sneaker store that will travel the world beginning in October 2009 with its first stop in
New York City on 43 Crosby Street. Frida Giannini has collaborated with Mark Ronson on a limited collection of sneakers.

The opening was last week and boy were there tons of celebs, including: Mary J. Blige, Claire Danes (so cute and tiny in person), Wyclef Jean, Evan Rachel Wood, Mischa Barton, Poppy Delevingne, Leigh Lezark (this girl can totally rock 5 inch heels), Agyness Deyn, Alexander Wang, Julia Restoin Roitfeld, Alex Skarsgard (True Blood fame) and many many more. Red velvet cupcakes and turtle cheesecake was served along with white only wine and champagne.

Becks and Daniel Saynt headed to Valencia Fashion Week and all you get is an awesome week of exclusive coverage.

When the IVEX (Instituto Valenciano de la Exportacion) invited us to be their special guest for Valencia Fashion Week, we packed our bags and got ourselves ready for yet another amazing experience in Fashion Indie history.

While the shows don’t start until Tuesday, we’re going to be getting exclusive behind the scenes interviews and showroom tours of some of the greatest designers Valencia has to offer.

I’m currently laying in our beautiful room at the Hotel Dimar, watching El Simpsons trying to figure out if sleeping will better or totally make my jet lag worse.

Have already fallen in HEARTS with Zara. The one here kicks the NYCs versions culito (spanish for booty folks) and Becks picked up an awesome Grace Jones t-shirt. We grabbed a Jane Birken for Zara collection (yeah, I know AWESOME) t-shirt for Kirby and then made our way to Mango. Did you know Leigh Lezark is in their magazine? Will have to send you some scans, but totally weird.  Also, in Spain they produce mini sized versions of all the major fashion magazines. The magazines are half the price of their standard glossy sisters and totally pocketbook friendly. Hint, hint American mags, get on that.

Anyways, Valencia is GORGEOUS. It’s really close to the beach so the area has a Mediterranean/tropical feel that reminds me of what I imagine Monaco would look like. I love it.

Leigh Lezark is totally my fashion crush. For a short period of time while hitting up Misshapes in NYC I swore I wanted to bed her. Time has passed and the sexiest member of the DJ trio (sorry Geordon) has really made a serious name for herself on the fashion scene picking up celebrity buddies along the way like Agyness Deyn and Karl Lagerfeld. Truly love her.

On a sidenote, whatever happened to Misshapes.com? I was totally into the project and was hoping it would take off, but it seems like they haven’t been able to get a post update in like 6 months. Wonder if this is another thing the group has figured has run its course. Hey guys if you’re interested in getting someone to manage shit for you, feel free to call. There’s definitely some untapped potential that should be played with there.

So totally didn’t notice it before but is there something truly disproportionate about Jessie Stam’s noggin. I mean seriously, it’s GINORMOUS. Yeah, that’s my contribution for the day.

Woke up this morning realizing how tired I am of Karl Lagerfeld, John Galliano and Anna Wintour.

They always seem to be playing over-acted versions of themselves. It was endearing at first, almost an expected outcome of the over-indulgent nature of fashion types, but I think that their time has come and is now quickly fleeting. Karl can’t eat a proper meal for fear of tipping the scales and reverting back to his fatty days and Winnie is quickly getting trumped by her children and Ann Slowley in the “ones to give a damn about” department. So here’s my short list of those I think might be the next favorite characters of fashion.

Christian Siriano – His royal fierceness, if only anyone will pay attention.  Runway is done, but wasn’t he the most interesting character the show has had since the days of that greasy Rasputin looking dude?  I just hope he doesn’t become a cliche as quickly as he’s become relevant.

Tyra Banks - She was Sasha before Beyonce was Sasha and she continues to play young Oprah to a tee. Hopefully the model won’t lose any steam as she continues to fuel a generation of big bootied fashionistas.  Plus, she’s donned a fat suit. What’s not to like?

Jeremy Scott - Former drugettes make for great fashion people. His celebrity connections help, but Jeremy is forming a strong posse of media friends and publicists which seem to keep this droopy eyed inmate in the spotlight. Hopefully a downward spiral is in his future, cause you know how we all enjoy a little tragedy with our couture.

Henry Holland - Starting to look like the male version of Agyness Deyn, but still a character to watch, his parties are getting as much attention as his collections and that’s what makes a mere fashion designer a future icon.

Olivier Zahm – Vincent Gallow’s Love Child/Editor of Purple Magazine takes the cake for people we would enjoy spending a Saturday night with and his recent relocation to New York will ensure he continues catching the glare of the paparazzi. Hopefully his legendary attitude won’t let us down.

His photos are still better wanking fodder than most of the porn on the web and he’s finally going mainstream!!!  If you don’t know him, you better take note.

Leigh Lezark was caught at Chanel wearing the already classic Chanel Gun heel shoes. She joins Madonna with recent celebrities rocking the look. Fitting.

Tory Burch has just hired Surface 2 Air to bring a fresh vibe to her collection. The Paris-based label will be moving into Burch’s studio and will be her official downtown “guru”.

This news is surprisingly exciting to me. The Misshapes Leigh Lezark is a Tory fan and other scenesters have been seen rocking her over hyped looks. Hopefully, the brand will bring some real cool to Upper East Soccer Mommies and Hampton House Wives.

Holey Hipster Hang Ups Batman. It seems that Leigh is right on track to rule the runway. We just got sent some her comp card from IMG Models. The girl definitely knows how to strike a pose and with all the online buzz (hate that word) circulating about her getting signed, I’m sure it won’t be long before she lands a cover or two.
