City Cycling Chic: Terra Raincoats for Riders

Yuck, looks like the kind of day that’s going to rain all over a parading day of city cycling. The sky has turned to murk, and that means a mucked up outfit or a plastic poncho if you’re still planning on two-wheeling it to work. Bicycling has become so chic, what with its environmentally sound nature and efficiency for navigating the city, especially Brooklyn, but fresh rain gear for said cyclists has been a sad search. Which is why Yurika Nakazono and Marie Saeki did just what proper, frustrated New Yorkers should do. They created their own, well made and fit for a feminine body with a helmet: Terra New York.

Looks like Levi has put on a few pounds. Maybe they can also show him getting into shape with his new hussy, Brittani Senser, for the run for Mayor of Wasilla.

Mayor Levi Johnston. Now that has a nice ring…huh? Fresh off the heels of his super-public split from Bristol Palin, baby-daddy Levi Johnston has announced from the Teen Choice Awards Blue Carpet that he will seek a run for the mayor-ship of Wasilla, Alaska. You know, that fair little town in our 49th state where Sarah Palin professed to see as far as Russia. Good old eagle-eye Sarah. It must be quite mountainous there. What is odd is how quickly Levi was able to announce the new reality series, working title: Loving Levi: The Road to the Mayor’s Office. From what I know, these things take months to pitch and re-pitch and then meeting after meeting with suits. But is was like a minute ago that the proposed nuptials of Levi and Bristol were in play for their own reality show. Is it possible that this mayor thing was in the original idea of the show between Bristol and Levi because let’s face it, who would tune on to see Bristol as a bridezilla, knowing that there would be zero access to Sarah.

After the drunken revelries of last night a year long campaign to raise awareness for HIV/AIDS prevention seems daunting. Nevertheless, I am up and about prepping for the first day of a 365 journey that will hopefully accomplish some of the goals I have set before me.

The campaign is simple; One Pair of Jeans, One Year. In my back pocket a condom, in my mind the hope that what I’m doing will encourage some people to use one.

My New Jeans

Today was clean out day, in which I removed all items that were pants related from my closet. Dress slacks, some tuxedo pants, a few linen drawstrings, sweatpants and a whole collection of denim from years of collecting, all being replaced by one pair of simple, true blue 501′s. Hopefully, this won’t be too difficult.

Tomorrow, I’ll make my way to Housing Works to drop off my formidable collection. Today, I just want to begin breaking in the jeans which will be on this journey with me.
