For those of you who were wondering where Lily Allen has been, she’s finally stepped out in a new spotlight. Of course that spotlight is as a new celebrity designer. The star has released a line entitled “Lucy in Disguise” in collaboration with her sister Sarah Owen. A lot of the collection is vintage inspired, so if you’re curious and have some room in your wardrobe, head over to their new boutique, Selfridges’ Wonder Room, in London.

How did the same dress end up on three different high-fashion magazine covers? That’s what we — and Guardian reporter Imogen Fox — really want to know.

The dress, an appliqued Miu Miu creation, is on W, British Vogue and Elle UK. To be fair, we should mention that the dress Lily Allen wears on the cover of Elle is done in a muted lilac lace, while Eva Mendes (on W’s cover) and Swedish model Freja Beha Erichsen (on British Vogue) are both seen in the yellow version.

So how did it happen? We’re flabbergasted, and, well, so is Fox:

Surprisingly, this sort of cover multiplicity is rare. Actors frequently chalk up multiple dresses in the same month, but not magazine covers. There are good reasons for this. Fashion press officers work hard to achieve a delicate UN-style political balance between glossies to make sure that these kinds of overlaps don’t happen. “Usually press offices are pretty good at making sure we don’t get the same dress as our rivals,” says Lorraine Candy, Elle’s editor.

So we have to wonder what happened here — could Miu Miu be so hard up for publicity that it would need to trick three magazines into using its dress? Do we really believe Miuccia Prada is capable of doing something so schemey? No. She’s a sweetheart. And she makes really good clothes — good clothes that, clearly, beg to be photographed.

The music industry “retiree” is looking good, which is a pleasant surprise.

It’s funny how public she made her retirement from the music industry, yet she’s currently writing lyrics for the Bridget Jones‘ musical.

Ha, before we know it she’ll probably be releasing a new album of her own.

Girlfriend might be planning for a comeback, what do U think?

Courtney Love, who is rather candid about her feelings in the press, called out Lily Allen this past week, after the English songbird didn’t allow Love to don a Chanel dress (for free) to the BRIT Awards.

Allen has an exclusive deal with the fashion house, and chose to enjoy her status by being the only lady dressed in Chanel.  However, Love had this to say on Absolute Radio, “I wanted a Chanel couture dress but Lily Allen blocked them out. And that’s lame, because I remember J-Lo had a lock out on Valentino one year but she shared with me.”

I guess Courtney will just have to start paying for her red-carpet apparel from now on.

Finally, some hipsters. Eliza Cummings wearing a surprisingly chic black dress and lace up wellies, a nice break from the standard Hunter’s. Cory Kennedy proves that she has lost whatever street urchin glam factor that she once had in stale overalls and a white t-shirt.

Kate Moss  loves smoking so much she reportedly makes her personal assistant leave a packet of her favorite Marlboro Lights on every table in her home before she goes to bed.

“Kate has five coffee tables spread between her living room, kitchen, office and bedroom so that’s a lot of cigarettes. She also has a special tennis ball with holes for cigarettes to stick out from so visitors can relax with a smoke,” a source said.

The party-loving star also keeps her fridge stocked with at least two bottles of champagne and two bottles of vodka to ensure her guests have a good time.

However, friends are worried 35-year-old Kate’s hard partying lifestyle is beginning to take its toll.

“The cigarettes are starting to show on Kate’s face. She is apparently chain smoking more than ever now and gets through up to two packs a day,” the insider added.

Kate’s most recent wild night at her London home was a cocktail making and drinking evening with singer Lily Allen.

“Kate and Lily each made up various cocktails and had a competition to see how many they could drink,” a source said.

Kate was crowned the winner at around 04:00 and is awaiting a mystery prize from the 23-year-old singer.

Free booze, drinking games and all the cigarettes you can chimney!!! Count me in…

Girlfriend looks fabulous in some of the best dresses I’ve seen in awhile. The number with the black stars in my absolute favorite, but the shoes she’s wearing while standing on the stairs bring tears to my eyes. I’ve always admired and respected Allen, not only for her awesome music, but her individualistic style as well. I’m not a Spin reader, but I might have to snag this issue.

It’s quite out of the box, expecially for Lily, but it’s darn different, and she looks great in it. Can’t imagine anyone else that would pull this outfit off, and I love the little red Chanel bag.

Lily Allen was seen rocking what looks like a homemade Chanel shirt. Reports claim that it is a custom made, one of a kind Chanel shirt that was given to her as a gift from Chanel. If you don’t mind me saying…BULLSHIT!! Her latest album is not set to come out for another month or so, and it looks to me like she’s running off the last few dollars from her last album. Let’s be honest, it’s London in the winter, there is no way it isn’t cold as hell there. She was seen rocking jean shorts and Ugg boots, this bitch is poor! And one of a kind shirt my ass, I’m currently sprawled out on the floor of the office with a massive felt tipped marker and a old ratty undershirt making my own “custom Chanel shirt”. You know the drug habit is bad when you have to resort to fake designer shit, but then again Lily Allen is the fake Katy Perry anyways, so I’m not that surprised.

The color sucks and the boots are vicious.  Kate Moss verified her status as fading fashion trendsetter with a look that rocked three years ago when Sienna Miller did it. Also, more boots.  Amy Winehouse looks ridiculous in the dress above, the push-up padding ain’t working and no one really wants to here Rehab for the millionth time. Amy, come out with a new album or die already, you’re really starting to annoy me.

Pete Doherty’s coke/fuck buddy looks like a poor mans Courtney Love, while Alexa Chung looks like she’s dating her younger brother. More BOOTS!!! You know, I get it. Is Hayden the newcomer of the year because she showed her back in a photoshoot and maintains a daily column on Parez Hilton and The Superficial.

And The Spice Girls? Really, were there no other bands nominated? Uh, I give up…

Really, there is no other explanation for this photo of Lily Allen hailing a bus/taxi/loony bin mobile other than the idea that this may be a shot from Riding the Bus With My Sister 2.  The singer has been slowly falling into obscurity with recent nude shots of her dumpy breast hitting the internet and now this.

Please Lily, get some help and start making some records. I can’t tout your greatness any more if you don’t give me anything to work with.

When Lily Allen is looking for a little ska-punk, electro-infused, punk but not vicious, modern instrumentalish inspiration she heads over to London’s Rough Trade. The singer/talk show host/blonde was recently spotted leaving the Trade’s eastern outpost. No idea what she picked up, but the location is known for it’s indielicious bands and for housing some amazing talent under its home label.  Originally specializing in US and Jamaican imports, it soon became one of the leading outlets for the burgeoning punk scene, and subsequently a pilgrimage point for anyone buying or selling new DIY new wave music and fanzines.

Definitely a must see spot, but for those who can’t take a hopper across the pond head to their website for a must have list of some of the store employees favorite tracks and artists.
