ADDICT: Lily Cole for Rimmel

Rimmel announced Lily Cole as one of their new faces in July 2008. Almost a year later, she has finally joined Sophie Ellis Bextor and Kate Moss in representing the beauty brand.
I think Lily seems like an odd choice to campaign for Rimmel’s Stay Matte Foundation — the makeup’s covered all her freckles! I guess this is for all the Jan Bradys out there.
Check out our gallery for some behind-the-scenes shots of Lily.

Tranny Jude Law

Here’s an image of Jude Law from his upcoming film Rage, in which he stars alongside Lily Cole.
Law plays a transvestite supermodel named Minx in ”a murder-mystery set in the fashion houses of New York.”
Does anyone else kind of secretly prefer this look to his greasy Sherlock Holmes moustache?

Lily Cole Gets Hired by The NY Times

Seems the publishing industry isn’t suffering from the economy as much as everybody thought. The struggling Daily has decided to go into the movie industry and one of their movies is getting the attention of Lily Cole.

Fashion Quotable: Lily Cole

“I was once the prototypical material girl. But I went from the little girl who didn’t have much and wanted everything, to the girl who would buy piles of stuff and didn’t know what to do with it…I used to burn for the fanciest clothes in the fanciest shops, but I now look back fondly at my mum stitching up a torn designer dress with parts of my window curtains.”

Lily Cole is maybe the only model who isn’t in NYC right now. Instead the model was at the Democratic National Convention supporting Democratic nominee Barack Obama. Check out these photos of her, sans makeup, hearing Obama speak. Even in the poltical world models get the best seats.

Lily Cole in Primal Scream’s Video “Can’t Go Back”

Bobby Gillespie plays a stealthy and stylish accessory to murder in Primal Scream’s video for their new single “Can’t Go Back”, directed by Kim Gehrig, in which models Lily Cole, Alice Dellal, Rosemary Ferguson and Kiera Gormley meet their ends in striking ways. “The idea behind the video was to create an Italian horror/Dario Argento-style film starring Bobby, this genre hasn’t really been explored in music videos before and it really worked with the track. In those kind of films, beautiful women always meet their deaths, and they always look amazing as they do so. The concept was for Bobby to be performing in a corridor of light, and as he travelled down it, different women would be murdered. In each colour a different death would take place and it would appear that he is somehow responsible. By the end, however, we realize he is not when Bobby is himself killed with a pick axe. I wanted the concept for each of the deaths to be very original, almost like the murderer was an artist creating images.”

The Inter-Views of Fashion: Lily Cole

Lily Cole, 20, is a star — with seven international Vogue covers, some 17 ad campaigns and a fledgling acting career, including a lead role in Terry Gilliam’s next flick. She is not a fashion icon but magazine editors die over her. Scandal hasn’t followed her around (like some others) and the only topic of discussion with her seems to be her putting her modeling career on hold to go back to Cambridge University after being gone for almost 2 years.
“I’m not sure why everyone is so interested in it. It’s quite a small gesture really. And I always knew I was going. I know what I’m like and if I don’t go, I’ll always wonder. It’s a little scary but when I freak out, I think, ‘Get over yourself, Lily.’ ”
“It’s bizarre that people find it so fascinating. I take opportunities as they come. Fashion has been a great one, but it hasn’t stopped me doing other things. I love creativity and I’m interested in the humanities. Human life, art, any of those things wonder and perplex me.
“I went to New Orleans the other day. I loved it so much I could move there! I love Kenya — there’s a freedom of living with no inhibition. I was just in the Rockies, which were great. And I love the Himalayas. And India. And I love Japan. Such a nutty place — but the people are so gentle.”
“It’s a sad fact, but then there are a lot of sad facts in the world.” And: “As the Dalai Lama says, ‘Money will bring you friends, but they’re not friends of you, they’re friends of your money.’ It’s the same with being fashionable. People are so attracted to that, and it’s important to understand the difference.”
“It isn’t that I want to be vocal, but if I have to be vocal about something, I’d rather it was that than me talking about myself,” speaking about her outspoken campaign for humanitarian and environmental issues
“I feel so lucky. I always wanted to do creative things when I was younger and I wondered how I’d afford it. I’m lucky to have the freedom to do things I want.”
“Watching them made me want to dedicate my life to music. They were geeky and totally into it. That to me is cool.” (speaking about her fave band, Sunset Rubdown.

Mansion with Lily Cole in Phantasmagoria

Remember when you last heard of Marilyn Manson? Well I don’t. It seems as though rocker scary dude Manson hasn’t done anything in a while, besides get married a few unsuccessful times. But now he’s back, and doing movies? Yes, sad but true. Rumor has it Marilyn Manson’s directorial debut will be in Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll, staring Lily Cole.
The movie is about an author who lives by himself in a castle, has visions of a girl named Alice. His name is Lewis Carrol (Manson ) and he finds himself terrified of what waits for him each night. He has become a symptom of his own invention. Phantasmagoria also stars Tilda Swinton and is due to be released later this year.
