Their mission is to help children affected by autism communicate more effectively through education, job training, and specialized activities.  The appropriately named Golden Hat collection features a blush palette, a red lipstick, and a red nail polish.  We love that the baby pink blusher has the foundation’s emblem designed on it in a shimmery gold for an extra special touch. Lancome has pledged to dedicate at least 150,000 euros (about $207k) of its sale profits to the charity.

It helps if you know Italian. But their goal was to have an opaque substance on the outer layer and liquid in the core. This brings on the luminosity. Though it started with the thought for just rose, nudes and pinks, it evolved into deep browns, purples mixed with reds, and golds.

And it glides on like a dream. Let your lip-wear meet halfway. Try it.

Maybe the thought for U by Kotex is that when you, ya know, let your lady-blood out onto this thing, it’ll make pretty colors? Ew, what? Sorry I just said that. This whole topic is making me uncomfortable. In fact, that’s probably why Ms. Field is doing this at all.

Now go forth and design your own, if you so desire. Beautify a tampon case while you’re at it. If she likes your design, you could work with her and, erm, get them made. Every girl’s wildest dream – work with Patricia Field…. on a sanitary napkin. Though I suppose, if I would take and wear her lipstick, I’d do anything for her.

So, I nearly died last night when I was sat at a restaurant within eyeshot of Patricia Field. My heart palpitated with every glance, distracting me from my delectable Restaurant Week prix fixe feast. I mean, screw SJP, she created Carrie Bradshaw! I tried not to stare, but the electric red hair, the table of fabulous gays, I watched longingly until they got up to leave. And then I spotted it… tucked into the deep fold of her chair. A lipstick.

I switched into stealth mode: re-con mission. I snatched it up and tried to chase her down to give it back. But seven inch heels slowed me down just enough to miss her. She was already in a cab, on her way, I’m sure to someplace more fabulous than I’ll ever know.

And here I am, in possession of Patricia Field’s lipstick. It’s by Iman Cosmetics, and only because it’s Ms. Field, the tube had undergone a costume change, and now has a MAC cap.

The shade is Jaguar. Rawr.

As my civic duty to the gods of fashion, I feel I must do all in my power to reunite Patricia Field with her lipstick. I’ll deliver it personally.

PS- If I do get to return it to Her Majesty, I’m totally buying this color. Now that I’ve tried it, I need it in my life.

PPS- I apologize if the image of my face superimposed onto Pat Field’s body haunts you in your sleep.

My constant companion these days is Edward Bess Ultra Sleek Lipstick in Forever Yours. This richly pigmented red based pink that is about one shade darker than my natural lip color offers full coverage, creamy texture and perfect finish that’s just shiny enough without any actual shimmer. It stays put through a quick snack or a drink and always looks appropriate.

Forever Yours is half a shade darker and has a little more brown in the base than its closely-related sibling Night Romance. I’ll show more photos of Night Romance next week, but for now here’s a comparison swatch:

The Ultra Sleek lipstick range is small and carefully edited. There are only 13 colors, which seems a bit limited. But it actually shows Edward Bess’ keen eye and perfectionism. Out of the 13, there are four colors I love and wear regularly. If I weren’t addicted and obsessed with makeup and beauty blogging I could have (theoretically, of course) lived with just those four. That says a lot.

Bottom Line: Perfect.

With September right around the corner, it’s time to kiss the bright lip shades of summer goodbye. But what colors could possibly replace those neon reds and hot pinks that make summer beauty so fun? Don’t slip into a beauty depression – check out three new amazing lipstick shades that will get you through the season in style:

Fall 2010 shows, like Peter Som’s (above, at left) saw some deep purple, almost black, lips. While that doesn’t exactly translate to everyday life (unless you work at a voodoo shop), you can go goth-lite with the trend using Fresh Sugar Plum Lip Treatment SPF 15 ($22.50). The shade looks deep purple in the tube, but glides on to a sheer berry, so it’s totally office appropriate.

We’ve been loving Maybelline’s ColorSensational ($7.49) line of lipsticks since it hit stores a few months ago, and the Red Revival shade is the ideal crimson for the cooler months, just like the one seen in Donna Karan’s runway show. This moisturizing lipstick is easy to apply and the rich color, though not for the shy, will make you want to grab a camel coat and some leather riding boots. It’s autumn in a tube.

Yet, for every bold red or purple lip that marched down the fall runways, there was a nude, almost matte, pout to counter it, like the ones at Alexander Wang.  Go Ali MacGraw circa ”Love Story” with Revlon’s Colorstay Mineral Lipglaze in Timeless Nude ($6.74), a natural color with a hint of pink that looks good on all skin tones and won’t wash you out.

Unfortunately, this sleek pink lipstick that was created by the Lady Herself won’t allow you to sing like her, but you’ll look really pretty.

Since it’s part of the MAC Viva Glam lipstick series, every cent of each purchase goes straight to the MAC AIDS Fund. That’s definitely worth $14, I’d say.

Sometimes when we find that perfect shade of lipstick there are a few problems that could soon follow. For instance, what if the bright cherry red lands on your pearly whites? Can you say embarrassing? Clinique has released a lipstick that not only keeps the lipstick off the teeth, it keeps them looking better than ever!

The people at Clinique hired a series of dentists to assist them in their latest project. The dentists pinpointed which colors gave individuals the best looking smile, and they put together 12 products that can make your smile a full shade of white brighter!

Not that I ever really thought of applying your favorite lipstick or gloss as a difficult task, but now the job was just made easier! Cosmetic company Alcone has created the Lip Stamp; the stamp is a two-part process to a supposedly flawless set of lips. First, pick your favorite shade and apply to the stamp, then, just stamp! The device comes with a couple of appliques; however, you can also buy the colors individually. Sounds like a cool idea, but I can predict a couple mechanical errors.

WHITE: For an extreme nude lip, try white. Max Factor’s Wild White is a popular shade.

CORAL: Less harsh then the orange, coral is still a playful way to spice up your lip color this summer. Givenchy’s Sparkle Coral is the perfect shade.

MAC’s Cult Of Cherry collection will launch in September. This collection looks fabulous with all the red and plum variations, anyone can find a color that compliments their skin tone.
