Vena Cava‘s designing ladies Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai do some long division for footwear. The problem (and the solution) is Ten Over Six. These two hot brands teamed up to make sky high platforms alongside sensible pumps. These shoes ring ideal for the bi-coastal power strider; airy but ready for the chill. They’re out now at Saks and we’re falling head over heels.

Some fashion news we can afford to hear about: Vena Cava for Uniqlo launches tomorrow! The much anticipated collaboration kicks off May 12th, at the Uniqlo in Soho tomorrow with the delicate beauty you’d expect from the design duo of Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai. They’ve mixed their soft eye with the technologically advanced and well-priced fabrications of the major Japanese brand.

As their ‘zine ( a 90s concept in itself) would attest to, Vena Cava was enraptured by the 90s and translated that love to the runways. Cue the cut-outs, crop tops and long sleeve gowns for a hint of tough girl sex appeal.

Being a fan of their zippered-bodice print dresses, I was obviously intrigued to check out Vena Cava’s online garage sale. I suppose I was expecting some of their old vintage finds, past-season items and little knick-knacks. I am thoroughly disappointed to announce that it is really just a bunch of random crap! Sorry girls. Still love ya, but let’s be real. Here are some of the sold out items:

Designers Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock of fashion label Vena Cava are slated to release a a series of lower-priced basics this fall. The collection will include several organic cotton basics and will feature the label’s infamous photo collages and hand-drawn prints. Starting in July, you can find the Vena Cava basics for under $200 at retailers like Saks, Barneys and Bergdorf Goodman.

Lisa Mayock and Sophie Buhai, designers of Vena Cava, recently designed a pair of high-top Converse sneakers for the 1HUND(RED) project, an organization striving to eliminate AIDS in Africa. The limited edition kicks look similar to their recent collection for The Gap.

I never viewed Vena Cava as one of the classier labels on the market, but designers Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock are certainly turning the tables. Spring 2010 introduced a bit more simplistic style with subtle details, while maintaining their playful patterns in elegant cuts. But don’t be fooled, the collection still holds onto that darker, downtown vibe Vena Cava is so well know for!

The resort 09 collection for the Vena Cava label has been released. Teamed up designers Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock have allowed Vena Cava to soar. The line features a number of materials that allow the designs to speak for themselves. Models strutted in sunglasses as they advocated for the collection. Sporting simplistic designs that are clearly wearable, the Vena Cava collection embodied an intact undeniable elegance.
