Fei Fei Sun’s Guide to Shanghai and Designers to Watch

Edited by

About three years ago, Fei Fei Sun was just a gal about China, hangin’ with her boyfriend in Shanghai. Several Paris Fashion Week video viewings later, and she’s got the bug to wear it all; to be there in it. Fortunately her razor sharp jawline and chameleon abilities have allowed just that and she skyrocketed her to the fashion stratosphere.. Her first season out, she walked 30 shows without knowing a lick of English. Which I suppose proves the point that you can get by on just your good looks (and in this case, polite, intuitive silence and a fearsome smize). If you turn the tables and find yourself in Shanghai without knowing a damn word in Chinese, check what Fei Fei Sun advises you eat, see and shop in her city.

MAG HAG Jesus Luz Continues to Prove His Worth

For a second I was ready to write Jesus Luz off as a overglorified gold digging pool boy who serves no purpose other than to be Madonna’s hot  rebound bitch. Wait, I still feel that way. This editorial proves nothing other than making it obvious that Jesus is only getting covers for being “Madonna’s New Love”. Congrats Jebus, you’re officially the male Amber Rose.

SPREAD UM: L’Officiel March 2009

SPREAD UM: LOfficiel March 2009

It’s official, this is hands down my favorite editorial to ever hit a glossy page. Inspired by Katy Forgarty’s epic runway fall during Prada’s Spring 2009 show, Ivanho Harlim and Shysila by Novita collaboratively shot “Balancing Act,” turing heads to the art of the fall. I absolutely love the motion in these photos. Not only do readers get to see the movement of the clothing, the models actually look graceful! Oh, and this is an awesome perspective as opposed to the typical head on spread. Leave it up to L’Officiel to awe the fashion industry with their creative spreads!

SPREAD UM: Two Different Covers, One Louis Vuitton Outfit

SPREAD UM: Two Different Covers, One Louis Vuitton OutfitSPREAD UM: Two Different Covers, One Louis Vuitton Outfit

I absolutely adore this look from the Louis Vuitton Spring 09 runway. One outfit styled two different ways for two different magazine covers is quite interesting. Julia Dunstall for the Febuary 09 issue of L’Occiciel is wearing the more understated version; solely the outfit sans accessories. Simple makeup and hair prove this look can stand on its own. Anna Selezneva for the Febuary 09 issue of Vogue Nippon looks like she walked right off the runway. Multiple necklaces and heavy bangles accessorize the look without making it seem cluttered. Damn I need this outfit!

Thanks to Fashion Copious for the photos.

Indies to Watch: Emma Maclaren

Edited by

Indies to Watch: Emma Maclaren Indies to Watch: Emma Maclaren Indies to Watch: Emma Maclaren She might not have the eerie, ghostlike look of Tanya Dziahileva or the the deer-face of Gemma Ward, but Emma Maclaren, the blonde hair, blue eyed babe isn’t just any girl. For starters, this 17-year-old British model has more agencies than the typical top model. With bookers in London, New York, Paris and Milan, Maclaren’s career has skyrocketed, especially during 2008′s New York Fashion Week. Maclaren made her runway debut walking for designers like Marc Jacobs, Jill Sander and Givenchy and will be featured in November’s British Glamour and on the cover for December’s issue of L’Officiel. People might call her “generic-looking,” but this girl has got something that the other slender, blonde giants don’t have!
