London Street Style From Fashion Week
As always my favorite street style blog Altamirany was there to capture the best style moments of London Fashion Week.

Richard Nicoll: Caught Pink Handed!

Jill Sander Spring 2009 Menswear.

Jill Sander uses bright and bold colors in her Spring 2009 collection.

Richard Nicoll Spring 2009...hmm, the style and color look familiar.
Call the fashion police! There is not an outfit crisis at hand, but a rather sneaky designer stealing inspiration from minimalist German designer, Jill Sander! It seems as if Richard Nicoll, who presented his Spring collection at London Fashion Week, was fresh out of ideas and thought he’d “borrow” the same suit style and bright pink color for his collection. But Nicoll didn’t stop there! He even had the audacity to siphon Sander’s bold and bright solid color scheme into his whole collection! Take a look at the evidence and see for yourself (Sander Vs. Nicoll). Shame, shame Nicoll…the fashion industry raised you better than that.
Thanks for the photos STYLE!

Fashion in Motion: Adidas by Stella McCartney
What is the point of fashionable athletic gear if it isn’t breathable, resilient and downright comfortable? British designer Stella McCartney didn’t simply show us her Adidas collection, she showed us how it moved in action. Forget the models, Olympic athletes decked out in McCartney’s designs showed buyers exactly how these garments performed. Along the lines of the London Fashion Week trends, McCartney showed bright colors infused in scalloped athletic tops and spandex leggings. McCartney’s contoured spring athletic gear was designed specifically to make the female body appear toned and fit. Thanks Stella for giving us another reason to lace up the sneakers and hit the gym!

London Fashion Week: The Inside Scoop
For those travelers expecting to see dinosaur exhibits and stuffed jaguar carcasses at London’s Natural History Museum this week, they are in for a rude (but pleasant!) awakening. Instead of specimen collections, the museum is home to various British designers, models, press and buyers. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, the second round of Fashion Week hits Europe. Goodbye New York…Hello London!
So London Fashion Week isn’t exactly hard to get into (yes, anyone can purchase admittance, catwalk and goody-bag tickets on the London Fashion Week website) but the Brits are whipping up designs just as innovative and stylish as New York Fashion Week.
This year’s London Fashion Week is rumored to have some of the best styles to date. Similar to the New York Fashion week craze of jumpsuits, London’s first day alone unveiled their take on these flight suits. Unlike New York’s distressed denim and pastel colors for Spring 2009, London designers are whipping up looks using loud colors like hot pink and bright yellow.
And for those designers who need an extra boost getting their collection out there, the British Fashion Council has a sponsorship program helping designers promote their looks. New Gen has launched the careers of British designers Alexander McQueen, Julien Macdonald and many others. Who wouldn’t want a £5,000 - £10,000 cash sponsorship, free utilization of the tents and recognition as a “must-see” designer at London Fashion Week?
London Fashion Week keeps the catwalks bopping until Friday, September 19th. If the Brits can whip up more killer looks (like the ones above), then I am skipping tea and biscuits, grabbing my rain coat and heading to London!

Back To The Classics

Selena Gomez goes Greek
Could the Greek look be coming back so soon? I personally don’t mind, there is something clean and elegant about it to me, but it hasn’t been gone that long. According to Style.com, a lot of classic Greece inspired looks have been spotted all over London during their Fashion Week. What do you think, is Greek just an all around, here to stay look, or a trend that’s coming back too soon?
Thanks to Style.com, Just Jared, and The Sartorialist for the images.
