If you can pull off a velvet suit and not look like an up tight douche you deserve to be on Fashion Indie.

If you ever want to make a statement in the fashion world you have to take a risk, and this kid is just going to prove that. His look is very androgynous and chic, and I love the shoes! Plus, the use of DIY pieces totally adds street cred!

STREET HERO: Denni all indie

I’d love to go to class looking like this. Denni’s got some great looks on her Lookbook! I think showing off your bra is officially trendy.

STREET HERO: Rachel Iwanyszyn

Another Lookbook member that has an actual photographer to take their photos..I love these! Rachel’s look is simple, but so cute and polished! And she’s representing Michigan, which makes me temporarily retract any mean comments I’ve made about this state.

Do you guys love this look, or is it just me?

I guess the best way to move past the enduring humiliation that is surviving high school marching band is using your tiny jacket later in life for style. Being stick thin and baby faced doesn’t hurt either. Denny W updated the shit out of his high school torment and made it work, can I do the same thing with acne scars and memories of lonely lunches? Probs not, but way to go Denny.

Adrien Grinier gone gay, who’s gonna hate that. Diego Dom fringed it up big time with his jacket and squeezed into some skinny’s for his backyard photo shoot, the result: me likey! Keep on Keepin on Diego

THE TEN: Best Street Style Blogs (Besides Fashion Indie, Of Course)

We asked, and you told! Here are some of the best street style blogs (besides ours), including some favorites mentioned by our Twitter followers (in no particular order):

Picture 2Picture 3IS MENTAL: An awesome blog in itself, but also featuring some rad streetstyle from the webworld

Picture 4THE TEN: Best Street Style Blogs (Besides Fashion Indie, Of Course) all indieAltamira NYC: Nicknamed the ‘off duty models blog,’ all sorts of industry peeps are featured on Altamira, making it even better than it already is to look at for street style.

Picture 5THE TEN: Best Street Style Blogs (Besides Fashion Indie, Of Course) all indieHoy Fashion: Streetstyle from London, Manchester, and Liverpool. What I like best about this styleblog is that it also includes close-ups of everyone’s faces

Picture 6THE TEN: Best Street Style Blogs (Besides Fashion Indie, Of Course) all indieJak and Jil: An absolute favorite, Jak and Jil frequent events and fashion shows, catching models, designers, and other fashion peeps, which makes for the most fashionable styleblog on the web

Picture 7Picture 8Glam Canyon: A typical feature in Fashion Indie’s RAW feed, and another unique look at style worldwide

Picture 9THE TEN: Best Street Style Blogs (Besides Fashion Indie, Of Course) all indieStyle Defined: A look at NYC’s style elite, and a guest photographer at Fashion Indie’s SoHo Grand events!

Picture 10THE TEN: Best Street Style Blogs (Besides Fashion Indie, Of Course) all indieThe Sartorialist: Given.  So painfully cool that they have their own book.

Picture 11Picture 12Lookbook.nu: The roots of style blogs everywhere (including numerous style bloggers). Lookbook.nu was formerly an exclusive street style blog for invited members only, but I think they’ve opened it to the rest of the public now (judging by some of the horrors found on the site…) Regardless, it’s always a good site for Street Heroes, by the thousands.

Picture 13Picture 14Face Hunter: Another worldwide photo snapper, Face Hunter was the first style blog that I ever began to frequent (back when I was still in Michigan and didn’t know my way around the internet). I think I made a wise first choice, and I’ve been coming back ever since.

Picture 15blog 089Click Clash: An East Coast street style blogger with a lot of fresh taste. Also, check out the blogroll in the right column, tons and tons of good clicks!

Who’s your favorite? Someone we missed?

QUEST: What Is Your Favorite Style Blog? (Besides Fashion Indie, Of Course)

Picture 3

You know we love The Sartorialist, Face Hunter, Jak and Jil, and Lookbook.nu, but what’s happening out there in the world of style blogs?  We want to know your favorite, whether it’s street style, style advice, or DIYs. Where are the best style blogs on the web?

Answer in a comment or @fashionindie on Twitter!

STREET HEROES: Melissa Tofton

Picture 4LOVE the denim vest! As soon as I get home I’m cutting off the sleeves of my old denim jackets (which are so out) and going for this look. And her hair is amazing!

See this on Melissa’s Lookbook

STREET HEROES: Hannah Snider

Picture 4We’ve featured Hannah before, but Lookbook.nu is looking pretty drab lately and she always looks fabulous. I NEED to get my hands on some tie dye jeans ASAP!

STREET HEROES: Magdalena K

Picture 10I love those tights so much, and the red bow.  The clashing in this outfit actually works for me, and I’m not just saying that because of the size of the space between her thighs (so don’t hate anti-ED patrol)..she’s wearing a beret, come on!

Picture 23I love these DIY boots, and Kate’s bring red hair. I saw that shoulder-padded dress at H & M and seriously considered trying to pull it off, which I think she does wonderfully. Black is really easy to work crazy accessories with, and she’s killing it in this.

See this and more on Kate’s Lookbook

STREET HEROES: Grace Sunami

She loves her new necklace, and so do we! (it was DIY-ed by a friend). Grace is super adorable, her haircut is awesome, and so are the rest of her looks!

Check them out on her Lookbook
