RUNWAY: John Galliano Spring 2010

Inspired by the craziness that is Los Angeles, John Galliano’s Spring 2010 collection was all things symbolic of the City of Angels (although the red lazer lit runway looked more like devil!). As per usual, looks were over the top, clashing, somewhat gaudy and styled to the max- an obvious addition to the Galliano family. As separates, the variety of beige blazers and jackets were staple pieces, acting as a somewhat stable basis for the collection.
UPDATE: We Finally Found Someone To Replace Brad On ‘25 Under 25′

Lucas Logan, an 18-year-old It Boy from LA has become the newest member of our ‘25 Under 25 Stylish People To Know.’ You may remember us asking you about ten times to give us suggestions on who to replace Brad Goreski on the list because we found out he is secretly an old man, but no one really listened to us. Finally, a Cult member, Melanie Maverick, came through for us. She introduced us to fashion blogger/model/designer Lucas Logan, a braced-face triangle lover from LA that writes for Stylish Kids In Riot, as well as has his personal blog that talks about his going-ons and includes lots of photos. Apparently he’s going to be doing a runway show with American Apparel this fall, and spends most of his time spray painting, hanging out in the woods, and wearing beanies. We know this kid’s extremely LA, but that doesn’t have to be a bad thing.
RUNWAY RUNDOWN: Society For Rational Dress Pre-Spring 2010

Society For Rational Dress has a beautifully crafted collection for Pre-Spring 2010. Hailing from Los Angeles but designing with the New York woman in mind, Society For Rational Dress has a variety of light and airy silks, as well as some bulky knits in store. Thumbs up to the silk boyfriend slacks and the oversized clasp cardigans!

The Bashed: Rihanna in High Waisted Leather

Rihanna’s outfit choice for the Justin Timberlake and Friends Concert Tour in Los Angeles on Friday left me a little more silent than speechless. Not only did she look like a rooster bred with a bumble bee, but her high waisted leather pants were absolutely awful. Now don’t get my wrong, I like the high waist but only when it is done tastefully on the right body type. Sorry little miss Princess of Pop, but you look like you’ve got some massive hips and a bun in the oven…not flattering! And we didn’t get a shot of Rihanna from behind, but I’ll bet my bottom dollar that her butt looked terrible in these pants!
Thanks Just Jared!
Runway Review: Jenni Kayne

Jenni Kayne presented her collection yesterday, but was absent from the actual show because of the impending birth of her first child. Kayne, who hails from my hometown of Los Angeles, presented a collection that was quintessential L.A. chic. Jenni, who is friends with the Olsens, presented an updated, more polished version of 80/90’s favorites like power suits (minus the shoulder pads) and Ray Bans. She mixed this will L.A. standards like simple floral shift dresses. All and all a perfect collection for the Nicole-Mary-Kate-Mischa-set

Runway: American Vintage, Fall 08

The Cobra Snake scored these photos from a recent American Vintage fashion show. The styling of the show was 1950s cowboy meets 1960s doowoop, so basically every look is perfect for Williamsburg. Check out all the photos at Cobrasnake.
