Ad-dict: Madonna Hard Candy Outtakes

Here are some quite scary Modonna photos for Hard Candy, before the photoshop. In my opinion, these don’t look any different then the ones for LV, minus the clothing. And why does everyone always try to portray Modonna as an old sweaty lady?
Thanks ICYDK for the pics

Ho Ho No.
It’s three days before Christmas and you’re all probably scrambling around trying to do things you should have done a long time ago. You forgot Susie was allergic to shell fish so you need a last minute solution for the 10 shrimp platters you ordered for her party. You bought your sister that adorable Marc Jacobs wallet that she wanted, only to see her whip it out while Christmas shopping. Whatever the case may be, last minute shopping, weather, decorating and cooking and NO excuse for bad holiday fashion decisions. Here are the worst of the worst holiday fashion decisions you could ever make. Avoid them or I’ll sick Rudolf on your ass:

Ok, so it's more than obvious that these guys are attending an 'ugly Christmas sweater party,' but I see far too many people seriously wearing these hideous sweaters in public. Look through your closet. If there is anything red or green with jingle bells or snowflakes attached, find the nearest fireplace and burn that shit.

Impostor! You're not Santa Claus, nor should you be wearing his hat. It's similar to carrying around a fake Louis Vuitton bag...you look like an idiot. Don't come crying to me when people start backing away slowly.

Come on kid, where's the nerve! Take off those tacky antlers and smack your mother across the face with them. Oh, and the face paint has got to go too. I didn't know reindeer could blush.

This woman(?) must have earlobes of steel, because I've never seen anyone sustain that kind of weight before! At first I was shocked anyone would pick such a gawdy accessory, but the I realized the fashion senseless woman is also wearing a khaki zip up and sporting an awful haircut. If anything, the Christmas earrings distract away from the surrounding ugly.

Santa's helper? No, more like Santa's booty call. Sorry ladies, this isn't cute. You look like a slut.

I have no words.
If you just realized that you own any or all of the above Christmas no-no’s, there is an easy solution. Wear a black cocktail dress. Yes, it is as simple as that. If you’ve got nothing to wear, keep it simple and classy. Matching Grandma Bootsie at Christmas dinner is not the mark you should aim for.

Mag Hag: Marc Jacobs in Harper’s Bazaar
I’ve been under the weather for a couple weeks. So I’m not sure if this photo is real, or if I’m hallucinating.
The shot, obviously promoting Marc Jacob’s LV/Sprouse line, is part of a spread in January’s Harper’s Bazaar.
I’m going to go wait for the mailman now.

Louis Vuitton Decides Against Ginza Tower
Louis Vuitton announced today that their previously scheduled ten story Ginza flagship store is no longer in the works. The building was set to be up in 2010, but with declining luxury goods sales in Japan, the investment hardly seems worth it anymore for the infamous brand. With numerous stores in the city already, creating the worlds largest Louis Vuitton store in the same area in a time of economic decline would not be a wise choice. It’s a shame to hear that this had to happen, but are we really surprised by this move? If anything I give them credit for watching their asses in a time when even the smallest mistake could have huge repercussions in the time to come. Now that they are saving millions of dollars, maybe they can cut me a deal on the Graphite Bag I’ve had my eye on for months.
Thanks for WWD for the heads up.

First Look: Louis Vuitton SS09 Collection
Louis Vuitton can do no evil in my eyes. They are so monumental in the industry that you can’t really knock any well tailored pieces they make. This collection just goes to prove my point, that with simple patterns, solid color scheme and a classic looks you can make a line look great. Seems as though Louis is touching base with their super elegant roots, and I will say that I love it.

Sofia Coppola for Louis Vuitton
Sofia Coppola’s collection for luxury giant Louis Vuitton is finally hitting the web. The collaboration will be celebrated this Friday nightat Château Restaurant Joël Robuchon in Tokyo.
“To start with I wanted to make a bag for myself and then we talked about making a little capsule collection,” she told WWD. “My friends and I are always searching for the perfect day bag. It fits all your things but isn’t too big and isn’t too heavy.”
Sofia’s choice was to go for practical rather than over the top, “I wanted a bag that I could use every day that was coming from the heritage of Louis Vuitton’s great leather goods, not connected to the fashion side of the brand,” Coppola said, “We went through a lot of prototypes but it was fun. It was always exciting to get a new one and I would try them out and add things.”
The SC Bag, comes in four versions: one in dark gray suede, two in calf leather in dark blue and burgundy and one in LV’s signature monogram canvas.
Expect Sofia’s perfect little baggies and shoes to hit stores in March.
Thanks to WWD for picking up the story.

Ad-dict: Madonna For Louis Vuitton
It looks like Marc Jacobs, creative director for Louis Vuitton, had quite the hair-brain idea for LV’s most recent fashion advertising campaign shot by Steven Meisel. After attending a Madonna concert, Jacobs was inspired to use the Queen of pop as the next LV face. Jacobs told WWD:
“I just blurted out, ‘I think we should do Madonna. I was totally just blown away by it, and moved by her performance, by what she had to say, and her energy.”

Free Press? I’ll Take It!
It Looks like Louis Vuitton got some free press, and who better to give it to them then the heart-throbbing boy band, the Jonas Brothers? Apparently, there is a scene in their new film Disney Digital 3-D which shows Louis Vuitton luggage being taken off of their jet. Typically designers would pay a pretty hefty check for press in the media (ex. Vitamin Water flaunts their beverages and labels all over Gossip Girl), but the Jonas Brothers basically gave away free advertisement in their film. I know what you’re thinking…the Jonas Brothers? Ew. I know, but think about all of those pre-teen girls influenced by the media. If they see Nick Jonas with the Messenger GM Bosphore in Monogram Canvas, odds are their fan base is going to want one too! All in all, Louis Vuitton will probably do pretty well this holiday season.
Thanks for the photo I LVOE LV!

Louis Vuitton Brings Back the Sprousemeister

Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton are celebrating the late Stephen Sprouse by reintroducing his line of handbags. Collection is set to hit with the launch of a dedication site, welovesprouse.com which will feature interviews with Debbie Harry, Candy Pratts Price and Patricia Fields, all friends of the late artist.
“It almost becomes a classic, like a Chanel jacket, or a smoking,” said Marc Jacobs of the artists use of graffiti and day-glo. “It’s this idea of a head-to-toe look in this brash, neon, rock ’n’ roll, edgy, street-informed style. Sprouse really best personified it.”

Random Cool Shit: Play Hard With Louis Vuitton
Louis Vuitton teamed up with 11 The Game to come up with the ultimate (foot)ballers fooseball table. The Louis V. accents are subtle, but cool regardless. The handles are wrapped in Louis Vuitton leather, and the players are engraved with signiture Louis Vuitton symbols. I wish the Louis Vuitton aspect was more prominant, but I completely understand that not everything can be wrapped in the monogram print…Or can it?

Michael Levy has just created this Louis Vuitton Menorah just in time for the holidays. I WANT IT!!!
Seriously, I’m not a jewber by birth, just kind of married into the whole chosen people thing, but I can totally attach myself to a religion that endorses this kind of tradition. Sorry Jebus, you just got your ass whipped by the most luxurious of religious memorabilia. That bling hanging on every rapper in the game just got schooled.

TrendSpark: Head Pieces
Find more photos like this on Fashion Indie
When I hear the phrase head gear, I think of the awful contraption I wore as an adolescent to realign my jaw. Thankfully, designers this season make head gear look much more fashionable than a rubber strap and two metal prongs. The Junya Watanabe, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs and Nathan Jenden are a few runways that were full of outrageously daring head pieces. Some were simply adorned with feathers while others had structural objects towering a foot above the hairline. The trickle down effect has already come into play, and toned-down versions of these pieces can be found virtually anywhere. There are also the feathery accessories we’ve been seeing everywhere. I know what I’m wearing out tonight, and it has nothing to do with straightening my teeth.

Madonna Cheats Again!
Madonna once again proved how unloyal she can be by cheating on her newest love Louis Vuitton. Madge was photographed draped in Louis Vuitton at, get this, a Gucci event. WTF?! Who does that? That’s like cheating on your husband, Oh wait she already did that so I guess I can’t be too surprised. Fine it’s like wearing your wedding ring while you cheat on your husband! Wait she did that too? If you’re going to be the face of the biggest label in the industry (Louis Vuitton of course), then why would you risk that connection by going to a Gucci event, whether you are covered in Louis or not.
Thanks JustJared.

Collab-Ho: Terry Richardson and LV for French Vogue Calendar 2009
Terry Richardson may prefer his models overexposed, but for the forthcoming 2009 French Vogue calendar, distributed with the magazine, his subjects will at least be wearing shoes (and bits of lingerie). Made in collaboration with Louis Vuitton, the images feature footwear from Vuitton’s cruise and summer collections. The work is to be feted during a cocktail at Vuitton’s Paris headquarters on Nov. 26.

Madonna For Louis Vuitton
Rumor has it Madonna is going to be the next face of Louis Vuitton. In fact, people are saying the ads have already been shot! Gracing the face of the Spring 2009 campaign, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott have captured Madonna in top designs. Though she’s never been a part of a Louis Vuitton campaign, she certainly has some experience with Chanel, Dior, and Dolce and Gabbana. Wonder how they’ll turn out!

Louis Vuitton Gives Fifth Avenue The Best Gift Of All
Louis Vuitton’s store on Fifth Avenue is being wrapped for the holidays by Takashi Murakami. The whole building is getting the gift wrapped effect just in time for Baby Jesus time.
In addition, shoppers will be treated to a one-of-a-kind “Bag Bar”, which will include bar stools and an installation of moving display fixtures highlighting different handbag styles.
Unfortunately, the bar won’t include cocktails or I just might have a new favorite dive on 5th.

Oink n’ Ink
I would do a TrendSpark on taxidermy, but I want to avoid instilling disgusting ideas in the minds of all those label obsessed sickos out there. Back in September, we announced that pigs tattooed with the Louis Vuitton “LV” symbol were banned from the “Art Farm” exhibit at China’s Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair. The eight pigs, inked by Wim Delvoye, a Belgian conceptual artist, were tattooed as piglets and grew as cud-eating, mud-rolling canvases. Well, what we didn’t tell you is that the eight pigs were later killed, stuffed and sold £106,000. Ok, so we are resorting to dead pigs as art these days…whatever happened to Monet replicas above the fireplace!?
To make matters oh, so much worse, Delvoye has even gone as far as preserving the tattoos of humans. Delvoye recently sold a tattoo on the back of a Swiss man which depicts the Virgin Mary with a lifeless skull for a record €150,000. A hunk of old dead guy skin on the wall…this isn’t exactly what I have in mind when I think of redecoration!
Delvoye defends his art by providing the pigs with plenty of food and “better living conditions than millions of poor Chinese.” Excellent. I’m glad to see where our priorities lie these days. According to Delvoye, the difference between the pigs and the peeps is that ”the pigs never had an opinion.” Well, you know what my opinion is? You, Mr. Delvoye need to see a shrink. Pronto.

Timothy White recently rounded up a star studded group of models to photograph for his new book Hollywood Pinup. The shot are sexy, old fashioned and awesome! Some of my favorite people were in the shoot too. Michelle Trachtenberg, One of the Olsen Twins (don’t know which one), Elisha Cuthbert and Kate Hudson. I’m not one who reads much of anything besides blogs (loser I know), but I might actually have to buy this book strickly for coffee table purposes to keep my YSL and Louis Vuitton books company.
