Madonna also opens up to HB‘s Naomi Wolf about motherhood, womanhood, growing up and growing older:

“The other day, I was out on the street with Lourdes. She wasn’t feeling well and had a fever. She was wearing her tracksuit bottoms and her T-shirt, and she turned around and was like, ‘Ugh, there’s a paparazzi, and I look like shit!’ I felt for her because, you know, I thought, this is an extra layer. It’s already a challenge to have a teenager, then to have a teenager in New York City, and on top of that, she’s the daughter of someone famous. It’s a lot. I’m aware of it, and I constantly find myself apologizing for it. But it also provokes many discussions with us about what’s real and what isn’t real.”

“I think that the world is not comfortable with female sexuality. It’s always coming from a male point of view, and a woman is being objectified by a man — and even women are comfortable with that. But when a woman does it, ironically, women are uncomfortable with it. The label’s blog announced on January 11th that they were “desperately seeking” a new Material Girl and yesterday they confirmed that Kelly was indeed  their Lucky Star:

“We are so thrilled to announce Kelly Osbourne is the the new face of Material Girl for 2011! We’ve had a long time crush on Kelly and featured her as one of our ‘cool peeps’ over the summer.”

Not only is Kelly someone young girls can and should look up to as a style icon, but she’s not likely to flash her boobs in a half-hearted attempt at so-called rock rebellion.

At least not these days. She’s a lady now.

Lourdes blogged that she was tired of her hair – it was “mad dark” – and wanted to dye it royal blue, “but not a streak, like [her] entire head.” Madonna, it seems, didn’t fancy the idea:

“I read this blog aloud to my mother and she is sitting here staring at me with no expression on her face, as if she doesn’t approve of it! So now you all know what I have had to put up with for the past 14 years of my life ”

If Lourdes only knew that Madonna hasn’t been able to form an expression since the mid-90s.

By what I can remember at the age of thirteen my biggest fashion statement was seductively living through my very boy-crazy school uniforms… times we do not speak of… but now thanks to thirteen year olds such as Lourdes Leon who also vicariously lives through her alter ego’s name LOLA, and who has already snagged her first magazine cover for Quality June 2010, she has forever changed tweeny style, but as Madonna’s daughter how could you not expect such sweet things in her young life. Her twistedly wicked style has lead her to become another blogger to add to the list… this is what assures us that the wonderous world of blogging is still getting a bit more bizzare. Leon’s blog ironically began with the idea for Macy’s department store line Material Girl, perhaps no punn intended but I highly doubt that. Her blog is witty, hilarious, and a bit on the gothic side… with her every so often My Chemical Romance love letters. Though the very best part of it all, is all of her fashion inspirations wrapped up in one. This girl from my point of view is going to be beyond the definition of “when superstar’s children go wild”… perhaps expecting this child to let my party girl Lindsey retire peacefully from all tabloid fronts. You could say Leon’s style can be described as a mixture of a young Cory Kennedy, with a twist of her mother’s glam genes. Until further notice the world of fashion is creepishly keeping their eyes on this golden child… as we all expect even more baby gaga inspired duds to addictivly hit.

Hey Fashion Fans, here’s your first look at the design inspirations for Material Girl, Madonna and daughter Lourdes Leon’s new juniors collection set to debut in Macy’s stores across the country on Aug. 3.

It’s quite Madge circa 1984. Looks like The Material Mom’s bringing back the decade of big hair and door knocker earrings in more than just a song. The back-to-school apparel collection — which will range in price from $12-$24 — will also launch footwear, handbags, and assorted accessories.

This is a collection that I like, as well as understand…..It’s very “Madonna,” and certainly the kind of designs that I would expect, based on the fact that she has a teen-aged daughter. I can hardly wait to see the entire collection, as I’m sure that there will be some great mix and match pieces that will easily integrate with other wardrobe items. I look forward to see lots of studs and rhinestones!

The Material Girl Jr. looks absolutely amazing as she made her hair tamed debut at the 2nd Annual Bent on Learning benefit at NYC’s Puck Building on Wednesday (April 28).

Word has it that Madonna’s upcoming fashion collection, Material Girl, will come equip with a beauty line and fragrance. Material Girl, created by both Madonna and her daughter Lourdes Leon, is set to hit stores in early 2011. I guess her rumored fragrance in ’07 is coming a bit later than expected, but better late than never!

Lourdes is my second fave celebrity child (right after Suri), she has great style and is growing up so well, she’s beautiful, and always looks so trendy.

As much as I hate fawning over celebrity offspring, I have to admit that I am really impressed with the way Madonna Jr. is progressing, stylewise. I know she’s only 11, but little Lourdes looks as if she could be setting trends 10 years from now, judging from the way she (wittingly or unwittingly) throws things together and actually comes out looking quite cute. Being keen on fashion is something you rarely find amongst 6^th graders and it seems as if she’s grasped the concept of taking on trends and making them your own. The fact that she wears the hippie headbands, geek specs, and clashing prints with gusto is commendable for someone her age and one of the hallmarks of a future fashion risk taker.

Top 25 best dressed:

Tavi, the 12- year-old blogger, always takes a dose of fashion daily. Starting at young age, it’s clear fashion is in her roots. Embracing her style, the blogger takes a picture daily for all to see her stardom.

Walking off the Gossip Girl set Blake Lively never steps out of her fashion forward character. The actress is always looking trendy and perfectly put together.

Camilla Belle never fails to strut her success with the perfect outfit. Camilla always accessorizes perfectly for her unique outfits.

Taking after her mother, Lourdes Leon never fails to make a statement. It’s clear Lourdes is just one step away from becoming the daring icon, who’s footsteps she follows.

Zoe Kravitz never fails to impress us with her fashion choices. She’s a gal who certainly knows how to accessorize while choosing bright colors to make a statement.

“Do, Do You Got A First Aid Kit,” for her face! This Danity Kane singer is always wearing to much makeup and not enough clothes. Aubrey O’Day used to look good, but she has really been a tranny mess of late.

Amy Winehouse used to be such a cute innocent girl from England. She used to dress well, and fairly conservative too. Now she is a cracked out drug and alcohol abuser who spends more time “powdering her nose” than getting dressed (if she event puts clothes on).

She started out as a “Heroine Chic” hipster forerunner. Now Cory Kennedy is just a heroine user who just blends in with all the Williamsburg hipsters. She has become surprisingly unoriginal, and could seriously use a shower.

I can’t stand the fact that Rihanna is tricking the impressionable minds of the American youth that leather leggings are fashionable. We give her props for trying to support smaller indie designers, but when you look like that you’re almost giving them a bad rep. Let us not forget that week span where she was photographed wearing the same outfit everyday.

What did we really expect from the offspring of a professional wrestler and 2008′s cougar of the year. I think it is safe to say Brooke Hogan doesn’t know best.

Kim Kardashian has really lived up to her sex tape making reputation by continuing her slutty appearance off camera. You know your dad always says how you may give the wrong impression to guys with the way you dress? Well this is what he was talking about.

There is someting ironic about dressing like a tough rocker and then proceeding to threaten transexuals like Trace Cyrus does. If you were ever confused on what an “emo” kid looks like, well here is your answer. I personally have never had problems with tattoos, but facial piercings are a totally different story.

I thought we were over the guy liner and flat ironing our hair phase, but Pete Wentz just won’t let it go. Not that I don’t occasionally enjoy wearing a comfortable hooded sweatshirt. But when thats all you wear and you always have the hood up, it gets old fast. Lucky for him his wife isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, or she might force him to change his look for once.

Is it bad that “Little Miss Sunshine” makes me want to puke every time I see her? Yes, she may be twelve but regardless Abigail Breslin dresses like crap. We live in a decade where twelve year old girls are supposed to look eighteen, and well it’s no fun when you actually look twelve. Can someone say stylist?

When you are following in the footsteps of Cory Kennedy (who is already on this list), what did you expect? You are a wannbe hipster who spends your C-list celebrity paycheck on coke and alcohol. Oh and the OC wasn’t even that good! Guess this is what happens when you have to go back to shopping at Urban Outfitters because your career is over.

This Canadian punk wannabe, Avril Lavigne, should be deported immediately. The pink, black and white color scheme was done years ago, right along with pink streaks in your hair. You tour is doing terrible and so is your stylist.

Sam looks decent for a guy, but still not even that good. We are over the whole fedora and high top sneakers everyday. I would pay to see her in a dress, but I guess one of them had to be the man of the relationship, and it seems like Lindsay wouldn’t give in.

Since her boy toy Spencer came out and said how he gets paid to go places and gets all this free stuff, we can’t help but think that the disgusting clothes Heidi wears were free. Heidi is exactly what fashion shouldn’t be. Her style is terrible and as fake as her chest…and nose…and hair color…and reality show!

Well Tila Tequila does dress right for the job of being the biggest MySpace whore of all time. She is the only one with bad enough style that both guys and girls don’t want to date her.

This self proclaimed “trendsetter” couldn’t be any further from that in my eyes. When you show up to red carpet events in graduation gowns and turbans claiming to be fashionable you know you have a problem. You know you aren’t looking so good when every other poorly dressed person on this list is complimenting you, and every one on the best dressed list is laughing at you from a distance. I will say his best accessory is his little “mushroom cut” rocking friend Anna Wintour, but only because it dumbs down his awfulness. Fashion should be different and outlandish at the time, but practical at the same time. Andre doesn’t have that.
