Tomorrow I celebrate two years married with the most amazing woman in the world, my wife Rebecca. That’s right indies, Rachel Zoe and Rodger aren’t the only ones to get married during Fashion Week.

Here we are in a taxi headed to Rebecca Minkoff’s presentation at Lincoln Center featuring fashion blogger Rumi Neely from FashionToast.com. Love her.

Whyred models took to the runway to show off the spring/summer 2011 collection. The line was full of prints with a big emphasis on the florals. Personal Confession: I find myself flummoxed by many personal style blogs…

I have an old school brain where my fashion focus is more about YOU than ME... most of my career spent behind the scenes to create a gorgeous end-product rather than being front and center in a model posing way.

Without naming names in the gargantuan genre of personal style blogs, for me, some are absolutely over-rated, others embarrassing, most are mundane, many are sweet, and few simply stand out on their own merit. The personal style blogs that do it well, do very well.

It was all good fun when Hollister, Abercrombie, and Victoria’s Secret were reported to have a bedbug epidemic. After all they’re mostly tourist traps and contribute to some of the horrible congestion that defines New York. But what’s this? Elle has apparently shut down their offices because of a bedbug infestation.

Fast fashion impresario Sir Philip Green might be in a little bit of hot water. Despite recently being appointed unofficial financial advisor to the Prime Minister of England, members of the British Parliament are insisting he be investigated for tax evasion as Crafty Phil has registered his ownings to his wife in Monaco meaning he doesn’t have to pay taxes on his many companies.

Seems it was time for Betsey Johnson to tackle the tweezers. The designer has broken into an entirely different form of accessory market and teamed up with Tweezerman. The partnership is supposed to result in a collection of rose and skull-printed tweezers.

I’m not so sure how long it will take for this trend to cross overseas, but within Britain there’s quite the craze for hair. After a survey was conducted by Sound Asleep and OnePoll.com, it was noted that 97 percent of the women preferred their “manly men” completely unwaxed and untrimmed! There was very little difference in results from region to region within the UK; however, those Eat Midlands folks did have to admit they have a bit of a weakness for men who tweeze.

Simon Doonan, Barney’s creative director, states that high-end brands are sending their competitors’ bags to Snooki in hopes that the pint-sized Jersey Shore misfit won’t carry their own. Apparently the influence of Snooki and Co. is so negatively pervasive that brands will do anything–even give away $900 Gucci handbags–not to be associated. Hooray?

The Miss Universe contestants aren’t required to show off their show-stoppers just yet; however, some have made the choice to take the plunge. The true costume event for Miss Universe will take place at the National Costume Show in Las Vegas, but 83 of the contestants just couldn’t wait that long. Taylor Momsen is 17. She had her big break starring on the tween hit Gossip Girl. And now she’s calling out Rihanna for wearing a leather jacket, saying that the pop star’s sartorial choice is unacceptable since Rihanna is not a rocker. What? From a recent interview with Spin:

“People think pop is rock, and the lines are getting blurred. Now Rihanna’s wearing fucking leather jackets, and it’s really annoying.”

As American Apparel is in the throes of going belly-up, at least it’ll have some beefcake company in the endeavor. Abercrombie & Fitch are reporting that they’ll be closing sixty stores nationwide over the course of this year. Another blow to advertising that showcases skin as much as clothing.

The overrated MTV reality shows that give fashion careers a twisted reputation like The City introduced us to native New Yorker and most loved queen bee Olivia Palermo, with her amazing nonchalant style, model-esque ways, and of course you could never forget to include my favorite title, the bitch of all bitchismz. but just like any other fashion muse of today Olivia Palermo has taken a stand and has designed a jewlery line which is now available online . You may or may not agree with me but personally I would image such an epitome of a classy woman to name her line something other than “ROBERTA” a bit boring and manly. Aside from all the negativity, the perks of such a bizarre line if you’re a member of the “noir universe” or anything along the lines of unpretenious, your everyday wardrobe consists of a plain tee, or a simple black mko-inspired dress, then including one of these “sculptures” to your ‘drobe can add wonders to an amazing night’s outfit. Besides titles such as “Roberta” the love of the city for Palermo has motivated her to name her other works names that represent parts of Manhattan, such as Chelsea, Tribeca, and everything in between… Who knew working as a fake accesories editor at Elle Magazine for a few seasons with such characters like Joe Zee, could actually lead you to designing your very own jewlery line… no punn intended, promise.
