And it just reached a new level with the making of her Indestructible video. If you’ve seen the music video, you’ll know it features what some might call soft-core erotica. So you might not have noticed that feat of architectural fashion that Robyn wears as she writhes and sings in a tubes of flowing colors. Those didn’t just make themselves. It was the brainchild of Australian designer Lucy McRae. She spent two years developing this technology as she worked to weave a dynamic textile from liquid, air and vapor. See how here:

Lucy McRae wrapped over 1,300 yards of transparent plumbing tubing (that’s over 13 football fields!) around Robyn’s fair body.

The result: the longest, most technologically advanced living glowstick in the world.

A fascinating project which tries to reach (and then pass) body’s boundaries. A reflection, a projection, an hypothesis of evolution…basically, it’s really freaking cool.
“…LucyandBart is a collaboration between Lucy McRae and Bart Hess described as an instinctual stalking of fashion, architecture, performance and the body. They share a fascination with genetic manipulation and beauty expression. Unconsciously their work touches upon these themes, however it is not their intention to communicate this. They work in a primitive and limitless way creating future human shapes, blindly discovering low tech prosthetic ways for human enhancement…”
