The best thing about new hair trends is you don’t necessarily need to wait for Spring 2012 to to try them out. Many designer coifs at Milan Fashion Week were all about drama and volume – to our absolute delight – fit for the Italian divas the clothing speaks oh-so-well to. Click through to see some of our favorites.

Talk about tying the knot for Spring 2012. In a series of twists, loops and tangles, the romantic Eastern feel of Giorgio Armani's Spring collection took a turn for the edgy atop the crown.

Full hair for full skirts was the story at Dolce & Gabbana where flirty lady pompadours came together in messy buns at the back. After I hang this laundry out my window, let me just throw my hair up for the Italian street fair below. Stunning.

To complement the sexy and dominating raccoon eye at Gucci, hairstylist Luigi Murenu used jet black streaks, reminiscent of Debbie Harry, to strike the mood right. After slicking hair back into two ponytails, electrical tape was used to secure the style.

Fendi couldn't get enough of the voluminous, 1960s Hitchcock heroine-esque hair of last season, so stylist Sam McKnight did it all over again. The "structured" bouffant shape is teased and combed backwards to give a faux bob illusion.

The eight ladies Murenu chose include Last of the Supermodels, Gisele Bundchen-Dicaprio-Brady, Carolyn Murphy, Karen Elson, Jamie Bochert and the perpetually naked Natasha Poly.

A new year brings new talent, and V Magazine has featured the best for its “Discovery Issue.” The 10 page fashion spread features rising models photographed by Daniele + Iango.

Hairstylist Luigi Murenu nominates rising photography team Danielle + Iango to capture nine new girls in the latest from the Spring collections. The clothes are as forward as the hairdos.

The new issue of V Magazine hits newsstands January 13.

THE BASHED: The Slicked Crimp

What happens when you give Megan Fox a crimper? Well, I have a pretty good idea that hair stylist Luigi Murenu would know a thing or two about that combination. Think back to Givenchy’s Fall 2009 show. Remember that hair, slick to the head and then nauseatingly crimped down the back? Disgusting, I know. Possibly more disgusting, however, is the fact that Vogue.com considers this hairstyle worthy of the term “trend”. I get it, it totally works on the runway by emphasizing the texture of the garments, but to even suggest someone wear this hairstyle in public is severely disheartening. Please, keep the hair gel and crimper at bay.
