Ruffian for Macys Lackluster Preview start here

Photos from the new Ruffian capsule collection for Macy’s have hit the web. It went something like this; striped polo, plaid shirt, striped shirt, basic jeans. Kind of like what you’d find at The Gap on any given Sunday. We’re not impressed.

Macys Launches Diffusian Line menswear designers

Macy’s is launching a men’s label called Thread & Heirs, which various fashion designers will guest design each season, copying what Target is doing for women. Ruffian designers Brian Wolk and Claude Morais will create the first two capsule collections for the label for spring 2010 and fall 2010, inspired by Williamsburg with prices ranging from $24 for a T-shirt to $99 for a jacket.

Lindsay Lohan Is A Twittiot

Lindsay Lohan Is A Twittiot all indie

Paris’ high-end  Colette recently slated that they will carry Justin Timberlake’s label, William Rast. Lindsay Lohan had this to say via Twitter: “I can’t believe you are lowering yourselves to a MACY’S brand- I am speechless. Paris is chic not mid America. Gross.” Well, here’s a perfect example of why you should think before you speak, because Lohan ended up with this appology: “I am sorry for the unnecessary comment-wasn’t meant to be a jab,” she said. “I have some William Rast & Ut’s great-was a friends words. And my 6126 leggings are in Macy’s West and they’ve been great to work with.” I wouldn’t exactly bash labels that I wear or store who sell my accessories. LOL at LiLo throwing herself under the bus.

Thanks Just Jared!

The recession is hitting everyone, Jones Apparel Group today announced the launch of a Rachel Roy diffusion brand exclusive to Macy’s which include affordable contemporary sportswear, footwear and accessories. The lower-priced line is dubbed Rachel Rachel Roy and is slated to debut in August 2009. The Rachel Rachel Roy collection will capture a fresh and youthful look that reflects today’s culture by mixing elements of downtown cool with uptown chic at affordable price points. The line will retail from $59 to $299 for sportswear, $79 to $199 for footwear, $40 to $195 for jewelry and $69 to $109 for handbags. The collection includes an array of sportswear options, including stonewashed denim skirts; fake leather jackets and fake fur vests; long, chunky cardigans; Modal jersey dresses, jumpsuits and tops; crystal-embellished cotton jersey T-shirts; brushstroke-printed jackets and coats, and bright pink leopard-printed skinny jeans. In addition to apparel, there will be a large selection of accessories, including footwear, handbags and jewelry, all retailing for under $250.

Founder and artistic director, Rachel Roy, said, “Accessible fashion has always been a passion of mine. Every woman should have the opportunity to express herself through style. Being able to design a contemporary product line that truly reflects a sense of individuality is a great honor. Macy’s has been an embracing partner in helping us launch this redefinition of a new lifestyle collection.” via WWD

The Rachel Rachel Roy for Macy’s Collection is looking pretty good, I’m anticipating the release. Loving a lot of the pieces! Do you love it or hate it?

Get Your Free Shit Today, Before it Runs Out…

Get Your Free Shit Today, Before it Runs Out... all indie

In case you haven’t heard yet…

You can thank the ruling on a class-action lawsuit for what could legitimately be the best thing that’s happened to you all year: Beginning on January 20 and continuing for one week, $175 million worth of free cosmetics will be doled out at beauty counters across the country while supplies last. According to an article in Business Week retail giants like Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale’s, Dillard’s, and Macy’s as well as a handful of designer brands including Lancôme, Chanel, Guerlain, and Estée Lauder broke antitrust laws and conspired to fix prices on a number of their products. To pay back customers who may have been affected by the alleged scheme, which reportedly spans almost ten years from 1994 to 2003, anyone who purchased products from these stores is entitled to receive one free item in reparation. Click here for a full list of participating stores and brands and get ready to get yours on Tuesday morning.

Also, on another note you will now find out beauty industry secret that they never wanted you to know. I get asked all the time “what do I think is the best makeup line”. I always say there the same since they are all sisters owned, the only thing that seperates them is the price so I end up hurt a lot of of women feelings. But, now with this list floatin around you will see for yourself. The women that pay $25.00 for a mascara is actually wearing a $7.00 mascara. This lawsuit could not have happen on a better day. A CHANGE HAS COME…

Christina looks stunning in purple as she wishes Macy’s a Happy 150th B-Day is this new ad campaign. Don’t know why they choose Christy, but the ads (due in October) are also set to feature Donald Trump, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, and Martha Stewart. All I can say, is that she looks amazing, very signature Christina with dark lipstick, smoky eyes, and bleach blond hair (which actually looks gorgeous against the white roses, not to mention purple is my favorite color.

Thanks PopCrunch for the pic.

Magazine Crisis: How Much Can You Make at Vogue? emerging fashion

Everyone must realize that magazines are a dying breed.  With circulations dipping, ad sales moving online, and content getting dated by a slew of bloggers posting around the clock, it was only a matter of time before some of the big wigs felt the pinch.

Enter Andre Leon Tally, fashion indie bashing boy and editor-at-extra-large at Vogue.  According to Page Six, the plus-sized fashionisto was caught with his panties in a twist when he attempted to buy a pair of XXL Calvin Klein thongs at Macy’s (really Calvin, XXL thongs. FOR MEN!!! You’re a real son of a bitch.).  The hilarity ensued when Tally attempted to open up a store credit card and was DENIED!!!  Apparently, he left in complete embarrassment and had to come back later for the purchase.

Number 1. Do you really need to BUY Calvin Klein thongs!?!  Can’t you just have them sent to you for free?

Number 2. What’s up with your credit man?  Your sounding a bit like the punchline of a Chris Rock joke.

Number 3. Who the fuck still shops at Macy’s?  It’s all in Soho now or Brooklyn buddy. Macy’s for soccer moms and tourist.  I would have given you Lord & Taylor since it’s now Robert Verdi’s favorite store (goddamn those in taxi ads) but Macy’s is heading the way of J.C.Penny’s or worse, Sears.

Hopefully, Andre will get his finances in order before the ball drops on all printed fair, cause once the empire collapses there will be few spaces left for hefty print fucker to lie his pretty monogrammed head.
