Recently, rumors circulated that Marc Jacobs will be opening another store on Bleecker Street, cleverly called BookMarc. Items at the new store will include school supplies, like the above, a tin and colored pencils, all at relatively cheap prices. Already available online here.

Word is that discount department store Loehmann’s will receive a large shipment of Marc by Marc Jacobs this coming Friday. All items will be marked down 65% from their original price.

Marc by Marc Jacobs got away from the traditional whimsy we’ve seen in collections past to offer a grown up version of the Jacobs Youth. Lots of deep hues and muted colors, browns and blacks and shades of blue dominated the collection. Glad to see Marc out of the skirt and into a pair of slacks. Also glad that that was one trend that didn’t pick up.
SIDENOTE: Totally one of the seats I auctioned off for the Haitian Relief fund, which in total raised nearly $5000 for the effort. Was in shock when I found out the winner of the seats would be unable to attend. Tried contacting the PR girl to see if there was anyway, I could take my seat, but to no avail. I’m sure whoever got it appreciated it.
