Joy of joys. Marc Jacobs has always been one of my favorite fashion designers, but his recent decision to go to war with Ed Hardy brand guru Christian Audigier has him heading into my worship list. Audigier’s Nervous Tattoo, Inc (really, that’s what you named your company?!?) is getting sued by Marc’s peeps for trademark infringement over purse design. We’ve got the two bags for you after the jump.
CommentsMarc’s latest attempt at domination of your nostrils is the release of a Daisy scented air freshener. The lanyard of scented synthetic flowers is drenched in the designers latest incarnation of Daisy, a blue topped version with trademark whiffs of strawberry, grapefruit, violet, and vanilla.
You can only get the Hawaiian Lei inspired garb with the purchase of the limited edition incarnation of the scent from Sephora for $57.

If you’re a West Village native, you probably noticed that the infamous Bleecker Street shop, Aphrodisia Herbs, closed it’s doors recently. But could the demise of Aphrodisia and other Bleecker Street shops be due to Marc Jacobs? Here’s what a fellow West Village shop owner had to say:
Comments“When Marc Jacobs started his domination of Bleecker St, I managed to hold on to my shop for a few years until it had changed so much that I no longer had the same traffic or clientele. The clientele also had different expectations—no longer seeking the West Village for a funky, unique retail experience but instead the latest designer fix.”

“It’s Not About Gym Clothes You Can Wear On the Street, but Street Clothes You Can Wear to the Gym”
You never know who you might run, squat or lunge into. Whether it’s Marc Jacobs, Gwen Stefani, Rihanna or your future husband/wife, be prepared in cool gym-wear in your quest to LookBetterNaked. Gym Chic is effortless and nonchalant, yet secretly contrived and deliberate. Here are my tips to pull it off…
For men, I have one rule: no high socks. Even worse? Work socks. If you forgot ankle socks, go for no socks. No excuses. If you’re the sneakers type, pair them with basketball shorts and throw on a cut-off shirt. Vintage tees are really cool and if you have the right body, a wife beater is even better. For the relaxed rugged gym look, and the look I wear best, throw on a vintage cut-off shirt and sweatpants, and slip on a pair of hiking boots with the laces loosely tied. If you’re the bandana type, rock a complete biker look or you’re setting yourself up for trouble.
For women, again, no high socks – show us your calves. The key to a truly sexy gym look is accessorizing. Pair tight rolled up sweatpants that show off your legs with amazing Chanel earrings. Take a casual off-the-shoulder sweater that covers up your “bad” parts but shows a peak of skin, pair it with your favorite leggings and add a cool headscarf. To be effortlessly gym chic, mix luxe and vintage, baggy and fitted. Finish the look with a funky pair of shoes, like converse sneakers.
Ultimately, the best gym look is a DavidBartonGym LookBetterNaked t-shirt. You should also love the way you look when the tee comes off.

Actress Anne Hathaway and True Blood star Anna Paquin were both spotted in very similar Marc Jacob designs. While Anne’s is strapless, Anna’s covers most of her shoulders.
I like the way Anne styled hers, except I’m not the biggest fan of her hair in this outfit. The dress worked really well with her skin tone and figure. I liked how it was a bit shorter on Anne compared to how it fit Anna.
Which way do you prefer the dress & who do you think pulled it off best?
CommentsI’m super excited that Adam Lippes, Marc Jacobs, Nicole Miller and Ports 1961 have decided to become involved with our Haitian Relief efforts. All this week we’ve been contacting designers, asking for contributions and the fashion community has not failed to once again show itself as and industry with heart. Thank you so much to all those who have been calling and reporting on my efforts. Giving up a seat at fashion week is nothing compared to the efforts being made by millions of individuals to make some change in an area that is suffering so greatly.
Thank you to all the designers who are allowing me to offer this small contribution to a country that requires our attention and support.
I will keep all of you updated on who else donates to this cause. Here is a list of designers involved and press that this story has already generated. Be sure to visit these sites and comment to encourage follow up stories.

Out of any Louis Vuitton menswear collection, Marc Jacobs’ and Paul Helbers’ Fall 2010 line is probably the most practical for a professional man. Collectively, the pieces are simple with many refined coats, blazers, button-ups and slacks. Spiced up with leather ties, military boots, down vests, oversized tunic button-ups and color-blocked blazers, there are certainly pieces for the more avant-garde men. Oh, and loving the slacks tucked into socks and boots…do it!

Remember Clarissa Explains It All? So did Marc Jacobs this season… his latest Louis Vuitton bag boasts Melissa Joan Hart’s 1990’s Nick character and her mix-matched style to a T. How else does one justify such insanity? (more…)
Marc Jacobs gets interviewed for the latest Louis Vuitton campaign featuring the “plus-sized” Lara Stone. I can’t understand how people consider this girl fat. I’m really loving her lately.
