Having paged through my fair share of Vogues since acquiring my first issue some ten years ago, I’ve picked up a trick or two. There are certain poses models always do – poses that are “classic Vogue.” So to master these is to get one horse-like step closer to those hallowed, glossy editorial pages.

Although we love our homegrown beauties, most catwalkers come sailing through from Eastern Europe, various parts in Africa and of course, Brazil. So in celebration of our “Travel” month, we’re taking a trek around the globe to visit our favorite foreign models.

-Supermodel of the world, Gisele Bündchen Brady, made Balenciaga‘s Nicolas Ghesquière change out the shoes in the Spring 2011 show because she was apparently “not used to walking with heels anymore.” Can’t walk in heels?! That’s like finding out Santa Claus doesn’t exist or Anna Wintour is actually human.

What if you were going through one of those nightmare situations where someone steals all your clothes and chucks them out a hotel window? How can you walk down the street without getting arrested? Do it like Mariacarla Boscono and Andrés Velencoso in Loewe‘s Autumn/Winter 2011 ad campaign and use an ultra luxe, extra large handbag to cover your private parts.

Supers Mariacarla Boscono and Natasha Poly sit high atop the throne of Drama Queen in their dynamic editorial for W, “Making a Scene” shot by Willy Vanderperre and styled by Olivier Rizzo. Maria and Natasha’s little pas de deux reminds me of Lanvin‘s Spring 2010 ads starring Jamie Bochert: all hair tossing, drunken thrusting and graceful leaning. Inspiration?
