SPREAD UM: “Live From New York” Sasha Pivovarova and Freja Beha Erichsen for V Magazine

V Magazine and Mario Sorrenti takes over the tourists heart of New York in this futuristic editorial. Even though I hate Time Square I’d be willing to make the trip there if I could watch or be an extra in this beautiful representation of it’s constant light show.

SPREAD UM: Eniko Mihalik for Vogue Italia ‘09 by Mario Sorrenti

Eniko Mihalik stars in this perfect fall editorial wearing an array of classic pieces that will be sure to appear all over editorials. Aptly entitled “Iconic Items”, as Eniko is becoming quite an icon herself.

SPREAD UM: Sanctuary, Guinevere Van Seenus by Mario Sorrenti

Lush is the word that immediately coms to mind while looking at this amazing editorial shot in Cumberland Island, Georgia. Guinevere Van Seenus literally looks like a bird about to fly away in this Alexander Mcqueen work of art. I’m amazed that she could move her arms at all, yet somehow Guinevere was able to look as graceful as dove. Check cult to see more amazing posing in this greenhouse-esque environment.

Georgia May Jagger Takes Over Fashion
There’s a new crop of girls infiltrating their way into editorials and campaign shots, Georgia May Jagger is one of them, as she’ll appear in the Hudson Jeans campaign for fall, which also marks her first ad campaign. “Georgia is the new era of girl,” said David Lipman, an advertising guru who is working on the campaign. “A miracle like this comes around every 30 years.”
Not only will she appear in the upcoming ad, but she has signed with the brand for a three-year contract.
Georgia May is in great company with this campaign—it will be shot by Mario Sorrenti and styled by Camilla Nickerson. If you’re in London this weekend, be on the lookout because the photo shoot will take place all over the city. And if you didn’t think Hudson Jeans was truly in love with the model, you will after you hear the concept. The whole theme of the shoot is a lifestyle shot—they’ll trail Georgia May around the city and to a club with her boyfriend Django James, who’s in the band Django James & the Midnight Squires. “But it’s really about Georgia,” said Lipman. “She is going to take the world by storm. Mark my words.”
SPREAD UM: ‘Serie Noire’ for Vogue Paris June/July 09

Carine Roitfeld styled this spread herself, with the help of photographer Mario Sorrenti. Titled ‘Serie Noire,’ the spread stars models Guinevere Van Seenus and Eniko Mihalik.
A Shot of Photographer Mario Sorrenti

Mario Sorrenti in his studio selecting pictures of the shot which he recently did in Paris for the next issue of Purple Fashion Magazine (coming out next September).
Visionaire 55 Solar

Visionaire 55 Solar, the new photograpy book, features photos from Mario Sorrenti, Yoko Ono, Ryan McGinley, and Inez Van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin. The pages are stark and white, while the images are rendered in black and white, but when you take the book outside in direct sunlight, everything comes to life…in every hue of the rainbow.
SPREAD UM: Malgosia Bela For Self Service S/S 09
Malgosia Bela will span 114 pages in the Spring/Summer ’09 issue of Self Service, her editorial was shot by Mario Sorrenti, styled by Camilla Nickerson. There’s also a double cover of Raquel Zimmermann; the inside editorial featuring Raquel, Eniko Mihalik, Lara Stone, and Dree Hemingway titled “39 Looks,” which spans 66 pages; and Aline Weber’s spread called “The Obsessions.”
SPREAD UM: Harvest by Mario Sorrenti for W

I almost didn’t recognize Lara Stone and Eniko Mihalik in this super-Springy editorial in the April 2009 issue of W Magazine.
Stylist Camilla Nickerson mixed Mother Nature with looks from Chanel, Etro, Calvin Klein, and more: the models seem eerily and awesomely static and prop-like under bouquets, vines, leaves, and other vegetation.

SPREAD UM: Comme Frere et Soeur, Anna Selezneva by Mario Sorrenti

Anna Selezneva your androgyny is NO. You scare me in your ability to look like a little boy. Makes me wonder if you’re hiding any berries in your biddies. Congrats Emanuelle for unsexifying my wet dream, totally can’t look at her without feeling a bit pedophilic now.
Shot by Mario Sorrenti and Styled by Emmanuelle Alt.

AD:DICT: Christy Turlington for Bally S/S 09 Shot by Mario Sorrenti

Christy Turlington looks absolutely gorgeous in Bally’s most recent ad campaign. Shot by Mario Sorrenti in Miami Beach, the supermodel and boy toy look as if they’re in utter bliss. That fabulous snakeskin bag could easily sell itself, but Turlington makes it look down right necessary to have in your closet.
Thanks to Vogue UK for the photo.

Blowing the Cover: Lula Issue #7 & Purple Mag
Lula magazine is one of the best mag’s out there right now. Yes, better than American Vogue and well worth the $15 price tag. It was started by stylist Leith Clark in 2006 and cultivates a ‘wood-nymph, lo-fi, soft focus aesthetic. They produce two issues a year. And for their 7th issue they are celebrating with two covers.
Ali Michael
Audrey Marnay
Another current magazine well worth the $15 dollar price tag is Purple Magazine. Created by Oliver Zahm, the magazine features everybody who is cool in fashion. Frequent contributers include Terry Richardson, Richard Prince, and Mario Sorrenti. There’s one thing you can always expect from Purple Magazine and that is nudity. Almost every cover features somebody naked. And for this cover it’s photographer and one-time model Mario Sorrenti, with his man bits being covered by ex-girlfriend Kate Moss.
