As you may have heard, the 2012 Pirelli Calendar came out this week and while Mario Sorrenti captured some beautiful images of Kate Moss, Lara Stone, Natasha Poly, Joan Smalls, Saskia de Brauw, Milla Jovovich, Isabeli Fontana and the other lovely ladies, this video puts the shoot in motion. Take a glimpse into the making of the calendar in Corsica and then consider a career in photography…particularly if you’re a heterosexual male. Photographer Mario Sorrenti and models Natasha Poly, Joan Smalls, Isabeli Fontana and actress Rinko Kikuchi were also on hand to fête the 39th edition of the portfolio.

Anna Wintour has been credited/blamed/lauded/criticized for the current proliferation of celebrity-driven magazine covers of the past 15 years or so. Love it or hate it, a model has a better chance winning a Pulitzer than landing a U.S. Vogue cover — with a few notable exceptions. While stars are rightfully and contractually beautiful, however, not all of them can cut the couture mustard. Whenever I take up a new sport or activity, I like to immerse myself in the culture of the people and their lifestyle. Skateboarding has an incredibly different sub-culture to anything I have encountered before, in fact it seemed as though my life was turned upside when I began meeting and interacting with other skaters. I went from deciding what I would order from the Donna Karen AW Collection to deciding which Roxy tees would be most maneuverable in.
